And Targe nailed it-- that's the only reason the Witness killed him. He nailed it perfectly that the main soul guiding the Witness was afraid, trying to, as Ikora said, change what it couldn't control and control what it couldn't change with the nature of the Final Shape, just as I sensed fear from it with how it spoke to Calus after the Radial Mast was destroyed in Lightfall. It's why the Witness wishes to just calcify and effectively end life-- it is afraid of the fact it can't control life, and doesn't understand we give it purpose, nothing else.

This scene went hard for so many reasons but seeing a small being of light stand up to a world ending monstrosity gave me chills bc other Ghosts shit themselves just hearing the Witness talk. Targe: the realest Ghost to ever do it.
It also shows how Zavala had grown to be willing to use Statis since he was worried about Guardians using it initially. And how he wants to keep fighting just as Targe did.

Really shows he moved past his initial bas, and is willing to use the darkness if it means he can keep on fighting (his first concern when he lost his light is that he was now useless) fun fact, its also why I really gravitated towards darkness even with just stasis for the exact same reason: a guardian wielding it is still a force to be reckoned with even with their ghost destroyed should it happen.

And I'm sure Targe would understand. Plus we've seen Eris using Statis, and I'm sure Osiris knows how to use Strand and both of them lost their Ghosts and their connection to the Light, similarly to Zavala.

The Witness was created as a mass ritual self-sacrifice of a billion people. They all had the same overall mindset, but different purposes/goals. The First Knife (the sect that cast out the dissenters and trapped them in statues) were fully on board w/ "The Final Shape", and the dissenters were not, they tried to sabotage The Witness (which they were a part of unwillingly at that point) from within, and they succeeded. Any great entity or corporation can be destroyed by one thing, the people who work in it.

If the collector’s edition lore is to be believed, it’s likely that everyone who joined to make the Witness did so voluntarily, or they risked being killed, since the Witness is made of a certain faction of precursors. I believe some of the think they’ve gone too far, rather than being forced to join in the first place.

It was, and then we got the powerful delivery of Targe going "I see fear!", especially when he realized the Witness is afraid after Ikora pointed out that it seeks to control what it can't change, and change what it can't control, such as imprisoning its own people in the veiled statues when they chose to oppose the Final Shape, or the Final Shape itself meant to calcify and end all life effectively, while the Witness "chooses" who gets to do what. Brett Dalton was on fire with his delivery as the Witness in the Final Shape DLC for sure!

I think the traveler was inpowering targe he should've died instantly but he didn't its like when rhulk tried to take the light the traveler blew it up n talked through it and u can see the witness actually look scared when they opened ita hand n it was getting cut up by light and then crushed him harder destroying it u can see the fear in its eyes when targes glows with light like he say the traveler threatening them
I really thought Zavala would somehow lose his voice and Targe would translate through sign language and Tage was voiced by Keith David who after being murdered by the witness would pass on his voice to Zavala. Zavala might learn sign language from Targe when the traveler gave the ghosts knowledge and taught Zavala and Safiah because Hakim could have been deaf.
To be honest we wouldn’t beat the witness if not for targe sacrifice But I feel like if we had more time we could find the right statue that could shows us the way to beat the witness Unfortunately time was something we didn’t have

People are also getting error coded out of cutscenes, and thus missing them entirely. That's why I am watching it, cause I only got about the first 15 seconds in game. So its good that it is up for those that want to get the story they were robbed of due to error codes

We kinda do in a way. Our characters are made in a way where we can write our own lore for them. So, while there’s no feature to actually rename your Ghost, you can still just name it yourself. My Ghost is named Atlas.
In Destiny 3 they are going to make the voice actors record a bunch of lines referring to "MISTER SKIBIDI" and "GYATTLORDE" so we can make this a disgusting reality

It's a brief foreshadowing of how we defeat the witness with our Ghosts in Excision. It knows the pure Light will destroy it.
