My favorite thing about this boss fight... Is the look The Witness gives you at 7:28. That expression, full of malice, hate and vitriol, is the expression that denotes the very serious realization that, win or lose, the *entire fate of the universe* is 10 seconds away. At this very moment, both the Witness and the Guardian realize that the Final Shape is ready, and that only seconds remain before it is cast. It's such a seriously dire moment and it's captured so perfectly.
Also very curious as to what it said immediately after gearing up for battle again, as it sounds like demonic gibberish. If only we understood it's language
@@RudexTheInvincibleI prefer still hunt because I like the stress and thrill of active DPS, having to press many buttons feels so satisfying when it all works out
What are your thoughts on this boss and the raid in general? I feel like Witness encounter was a huge let-down. The music does not seem Destiny as much as it could be, and the mechanics seem a bit disconnected. The DPS part is a cool thing, but the other parts of the raid just did not sit right with me. Dont get me wrong, the raid was a good challenge and was exciting to fight through. I enjoyed the gameplay but, from a story telling/environmental design, I feel like it did not hit the nail on the head for me.
Yeah I actually agree with you. Imo this is the best raid and also had the hardest contest mode ever. But The Witness encounter was kinda meh, cause you could have 5 people clearing ads while only 1 does the mechanic and still beat it. Also the soundtrack for The Witness boss fight wasn't that great imo. Damage phase is a 10/10 tho
@@RudexTheInvincible The other thing about the Witness fight, is it did not really feel like he hated you. It was more like, look at me, big boy on campus, where as with Rhulk and Nezarec, the design was you could almost feel their hatred to you. 2nd phase Rhulk hits different, no pun intended.
To be fair, if the Witness could teleport and fly around the map like Rhulk, it would’ve been scary. Or teleporting out of thin air behind you and grabbing you and killing you, etc. Rhulk felt more badass with his classy demeanor and walk while also teleporting and doing the same darkness resonance that the Witness does. All at once. The witness just stares at you.
@@platinumanalogy For sure. I feel like The Witness was mostly a statue in the final encounter. Both RoN and Vow made their enemies and bosses more meaningful. I might make a video talking about how Id improve the Salvation's edge raid's atmosphere. The mechanics were 9/10, but enviorment+storytelling was a 4/10. The boss music sounded generic to me.
@@RudexTheInvincibleI'm just gonna pretend that fanmade track for the Witness called "Self Justifying Teleology" is the Canon one bc I would listen to it playing Into The Light content leading up to TFS.

1:51 most epic d2 boss attack i have ever "witnessed"
I see what you did there haha 👀
Yeah no everytime he does that mechanic, my team doesn’t know it but I smile so much behind my screen.

7:32 just hits with that sense of here and now urgency
The way the Witness just has the most "oh shit" look when you make the final blow conveys the fact it's saying "no no no no this can't be happening"
They did a great job at making the Witness look like a true darkness god. Love the Buddhism look they went with.
I think you're thinking of hindu.
Reminds me of ganishka from berserk after he transformed into the giant shiva monster.
It fits so well too with the Witness' need for control and to reach its hands ALL over the universe to create the Final Shape.

I was sad to see you didnt beat it on contest mode but congrats on finally clearing it
Appreciate you 💙
Grats on the clear it looks like you didn’t get the contest but it was solid even geting this far was an accomplishment
Yeah we didn't, thanks tho!
why tf does the "full-force kamehameha" ost from dragon bakll fit so godamn well from 1:36 to the end of the song
as well as a dps theme to

Does that new exotic beam rifle do a lot of damage on boss ?
Yeah it's decent I'd say, you gotta use your super first to get a damage buff for Microcosm. There are better options with better damage ofc :)

Nice run, so the final encounter was puzzle and dps phase.
Which hand cannon and perks are you using. I see frenzy I think?

Wait, did you not manage to beat it on contest mode?
No sadly we couldn't, we were stuck on the 4th encounter for too long

True lol.
Great job, great game and poor Destiny franchise.
You really should've done the mechanics and upload the video. It's more engaging that way instead of just ad clearing.
Yeah I know, but this was my first time beating the boss and my team knew what to do and I did not. Sorry :)
the title says “witness fight no commentary” if you wanted someone explaining the mechanics, go to a video which actually does that
