Great mods! I would inlclude a thin stick of fatwood or waxed jute or maybe a thin straw sealed packed with cotton and vaseline slipped in so you could have "sure fire" with that fire steel.
@@davem.3844 pliers and a bic lighter. just heat up one end seal with pliers, (or you could use the sleeve method) stuff in your cotten mixed with vaseline. leave enough to bend over the other end. cut off a short sleeve of the straw, bend over your tinder straw at end and slip over the sleeve.
I myself never saw multitool products as good survival options and felt no need pack things like fire making materiel and fishing stuff into cracks and crevices. I supposes a bitty firesteel isn't a big deal, but I use mine in town where I find uses for tools. Out in the wilderness you probably aren't going to be cuttin wire, using a screwdriver, or file, or much else other than maybe the plyers in occasion. Survival knife for me is always a fixed blade and then a seperate set of tools/gear.
