Instant follow for calling out toxicity in the fandom, I’m so tired of stumbling onto channels that want to rant and rave at everything for the sake of being exclusionary, thank you for being sane ❤️
It must be so miserable to be some of them. They've made being triggered their entire source of income. Now every video they make is a giant "reeeeee" session. They're trapped in a life where the have to comb through every episode of a show they supposedly like to find things to be triggered by. Then they have to post these videos online, like the ultimate "Karen," all the while trying to maintain a personae of being an unbothered alpha male.
When it comes to disability rep I'm so happy to see it done well in the specials. I have dyspraxia and I was so excited when the 13th doctor had a dyspraxic companion. Then the depiction of it was so unrealistic. In the end I had to stop thinking of Ryan as having dyspraxia, because what I was seeing on screen wasn't representation. To be honest sometimes it felt more like mockery. Weather a disability is visible or invisible, it doesn't become something a character can overcome, just because they're in danger.
_"it felt more like mockery."_ Dang, yeah, i hear you a LOT. They even seemed to decided he didn't count as "disabled" enough since you couldn't see it and added someone with a nice, visible amputation. There we go! Box. Has. Been. Checked. Ughhhh... I just die inside every time they shove brown people into a show just for the ..heh.... brownie points. Once Upon A Time... Lana Parilla.. i felt SO good knowing this AMAZING character was at least half Puerto Rican like me. And she's the MAYOR and a Queen! And she's angry and loving and three-dimensional. Omg, just loved every second of it. THAT's representation. And then... uh... i guess someone said, "No, see, we need to show a REAL hispanic character." 😐 So they made a single mom. with a bad accent. working a minimum wage job, which she immediately quits. and is dependent on others for money. i don't even think i finished the first episode. It felt like a kick in the face. Like someone saying, THIS, THIS is who you're supposed to be! See? Get back in your place! Why are people like this?
Genuinely loved hearing you go off about the idiots complaining about Ruth standing. Such a silly thing to even winge about. The fact that should be focused on should be the fact she was perfect for the role of Ruth and like you said have the correct and insightful representation for people that use chairs
The fact people complain about her standing was expected because these specials were shot ages ago. They knew the bigots would jump on that sort of thing. Not everyone in a wheelchair is unable to move their legs, some can even stand or move without one but it hurts.
yeah, ive a 14 year old daughter daughter with spina bifida which is what ruth, she uses a wheelchair but can stand and move about without it so long as shes got something to put her weight on, people say shes faking it because they see her stand up and i have to explain that spina bifida isnt the same as being paralyzed edit: my daughter loved seeing a badass women in a wheelchair, but didnt like her accent
Your Dialogue is absolutely beautiful, I'm only at the part where the Toymaker was offended when Donna said he'd cheat but your absolute grasp of this episode is helping me so much and I'm so excited to see the regeneration and how you react.
Russell, Tennant, Ncuti, everyone really gave a huge performance in just three episodes with an existential moment. Cathartic. Ncuti is fun! Tennant can give you the laughs, the feels, and being content in one scene.
I am SO, SO HAPPY with your understanding of the episode! I was on the exact same wave length throughout the episode so the ending for me made so much sense for the nuwho era's story and tennants doctor finally getting the life that the doctor deserves. Unfortunately people jump the gun on so many aspects of this episode and have gotten so angry over nothing. Thank you alot here's a sub!
Not only did the Doctor get a rest but also the Tardis who also ‘bigenerated’ so the original one can rest and just be a traveler for the sake of fun journeys or resting/relaxing in a garden without the impact of the trying to survive alongside the Doctor while fighting off the great evil. At least that how it seems to me and why the new Doctor took the new version of the Tardis. From the first Doctor from the reset (9th Doctor) forward the Doctors versions were all haunted and burning out to certain extent. This Doctor ends up personifying the trauma of the Doctors. The reality that you cannot save everyone. Fourteen becomes that touchstone that works on it and fixes it. I agree that this reset reinvigorates the Doctor. By recognizing the cost of his adventures and answering the one question… why?
I loved this so much! I was already satisfied having Tennant and Tate together again, but then we get NPH! I never thought he'd be in Doctor Who, and he was great in this. And then! we didn't have to say goodbye to Tennant! I'm happy! They left the door open for him to come back at some point, even if then it is to say goodbye, and they gave him everything he needed. And we got to see him interact with Ncuti, at that was so much fun! I don't get the people who say it took away from 15, I think it gave him a warmer welcome than any other Doctor ever had. He gets to share this moment, the audience gets to see how charming he is, without feeling like he's replacing Tennant, that's all positive I think!
I kept getting having sad moments when watching this commentary because I wanted to click ‘like’ then realised I already had! So many times what you were saying was absolutely spot on. Smashing job!
Your commentary was wonderful. Especially since finding you right after I stumbled upon one of those insanely toxic, screaming, so-called fan-boys. The guy was a real life example of what the Giggle was doing to people on the show! 🙄 I enjoyed all three shows. I was just great not to have to wait so long in between. Also, I'm over-the-moon that we get the new Doctor for Christmas! He's going to be brilliant. Allonsy!
I dont know about the standing scene but I know that the wheelchair access to the Tardis was from a comment from a wheelchair user that they thought the Tardis was amazing but it was too bad that they couldnt go in.
I really want to see a previous doctor come back as the master. I would LOVE to see Peter Capaldi as the master, especially with Missy's whole arc during his run. It would be so much fun to see a multi doctor episode but it turns out halfway through, one of the doctors is actually the master.
As a person who has a loved one with CF and another with advanced FM, it is really hard when I see people go off on someone because they don't "appear" to need a parking spot or mobility device, or whatever else. When they have really good days, they may still be having a difficult time or really be struggling (or it could flare up with no notice), but just want to look and feel like they aren't being crushed by something beyond their control and someone may see them on a good day or putting on a brave show and go ruin their day yelling at them for taking a spot or using some kind of assistance "they don't need". I got yelled at and lectured by a man ahead of me in line for wearing a mask during covid (I wore it to not get the person with CF or my 88 year old grandmother sick or the new baby I was going to go visit). You never know what someone else's life is.
So glad you loved this episode too. I thought it was absolutely beautiful, and the bi-generation is a really sweet way to honor the past while also leading into the future.
It's also just one line, but 15 has a line that he's okay because 14 fixed himself, which suggests that while 14 is currently separate...they're still connected, they're still the same person, just "doing rehab out of order." It suggests that at some point they come back together, and that's good -- because it means Ncuti is still THE Doctor, with no asterisk. 14 is around the way that 11 or 5 or 13 could show up randomly because time, but 15 is carrying it forward. Also, 15's sonic is amazeballs.
I’m so glad you liked it, ‘cos I absolutely adore it! Such a great way to kick off the soft reboot. And I have a hard time imagining anyone doing these trauma scenes as well as Tennant. Ncuti’s gonna be great! His energy seems perfect, and I’m really excited. Also, in the Video Commentary Russell said that his theory is that the bi-generation reverberated through the timeline, and that every version of the Doctor is now out there somewhere. So, there’s technically three Tennants now; the Tenth Doctor, Metacrisis Doctor, and the Fourteenth Doctor.
The nice thing about this change is that it opens up a very easy way to bring in the Valeyard, who is due at any time...and more than the Master, I'd love to see Tennant play the Valeyard.
Aw, as ever, your insight is terrific. Lovely. You accepted the ending much more readily than I did. I suspect that the 15th Doctor is going to have to deal with the aftermath of the salt and superstition at the edge of the universe stunt and the Toymaker's influence and his "Legions." All the myths becoming reality, Gods entering the realm of reality. Eventually, the damage caused by the Flux will have to be repaired, but it will take a season or more to do it. And I wonder if Donna, Mel, and the other companions are going to show up in the Unit episodes. Then they will have to deal with the existence of the 14th Doctor on earth and not intervening.... Eventually.
I have seen a lot of reactions to The Giggle, this was the most complete I have seen. Loved that you covered all the aspects of the episode. How you managed to put so much reaction into less than 40 minutes was amazing. Fantastic!
I think fourteen still regenerates *into* fifteen eventually, but the bigeneration brought him and his TARDIS early in the timeline, and that means he gets to tell himself to take a rest and retire which means that *he* can be fine when he finally regenerates for real.
First time watching your channel. Just wanted another reaction vid. You absolutely smashed it, mate. Lovely discussion points. Very well done. Looking forward to future videos!
I am someone who uses a wheelchair but can walk; I can't walk without intense pain and joint dislocations, so the wheelchair gives me more freedom and independence. I loved the representation of disability and how there are so many disabilities out there, and they are all different; being in a wheelchair doesn't automatically mean you are paralysed. Loved how you noticed the importance of the representation xx
Thank you for such a wonderful reaction and some excellent social critique. I couldn't access get Dr Who where I am but I feel like I've seen the episode by watching your reaction Tyler. The moment where Ncuti holds David and says "I've got you" really got to me. Sad I'm not going to be able to follow Ncuti's Doctor's adventures, but I know he's going to be outstanding.
Not to go into too much of a rant but, I am glad for what you said about the representation of the disabled, as someone who is in a wheelchair and who has spina-bifida as I found out this actress also has, yea just, people out there, before you speak out, do your research and find out exactly what the disability is, and how it works, Spina-bifida has different stages depending on the amount of formed spinal coulumn and the curvature of your spine, some people with it can move their legs, stand and even walk short distances. It makes me wonder if those people have ever seen a wheelchair basketball game as well. Like I said, I don't want to get too much into it but please, please, before you speak, anyone out there, do the research so you don't end up sounding a fool.
Love your reactions here @TylerAlexander. You are so insightful! I have usually already watched the episode by the time I watch your reaction and it’s so fun to see you pick up on plot points before they’ve actually been fully made. Brilliant! Love the idea that David’s doctor gets to have a slower pace with a family to come back to. (Although, I feel like the 11th got a tiny bit of that with the Ponds and River). It cracked me up that you kept commenting how Ncuti was in his underwear. If you notice, when they “bi-generated” his clothing also split, tie, top, underwear, socks and shoes to Ncuti’s doctor and David kept the undershirt, vest, and pants (apparently comando! 😂). Just a fun little detail. It will be interesting to see if David does cameos in the future. I think that could happen more likely than a second doctor series. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Love this, Buffy, and the Good Place reactions!
I just came across your channel and subbed immediately! Your outlook, opinions and analysis has been spot on and I agree completely. I hope you will be reacting to Ncuti’s run because I definitely want to watch it with you!
This episode took the subtext you noticed in the previous ep and made it text: the hate, cruelty, and vitriol exemplified in the edge of the universe entities and amplified by the giggle is real as hell. I'm so excited for Doctor Who to pull a Buffy and use monsters/threats as a clear metaphor for what we face in the real world.
Great theory on Tennant being the new Master, and I think it's only bolstered by Tennant staying on the show. There's all sorts of consciousness-swapping, sci-fi mumbo jumbo technologies that can be used to used to put a time-lord's consciousness into a time-lord's body. Looking forward to this new series!
I think your thoughts around 26:00 are good. I can see why people are worried about the bigeneration, especially in terms of the first Black and queer doctor potentially being overshadowed, but I liked this end as a way to mark the start of a new era. Gatwa's doctor left his predecessor behind in a much more literal sense than any prior incarnation. It could overshadow Gatwa's doctor but it could also do the opposite and allow Gatwa to be free of the past baggage. From Eccleston on, the Doctor is somebody burdened by the actions of his past self. 15 has moved on.
I think they could go the Jon Pertwee route and have 14 be UNIT's Science Advisor #1 and protector of Earth. Alternately he goes back to being a professor, or The Curator. I wonder if 15 is going to know what 14 is up to just by virtue of being The Doctor. In most multi-Doctor episodes if a former face had a thought, it would filter down the other Doctors.
I'm with you 100% about the split of the Doctor - it's all because of his trauma and turmoil... Ii think they're setting up Donna and Tennant as part of the UNIT spin-off show where Tenant can come in from time to time to help.
I think they are setting up a U.N.I.T. tv show spinoff maybe following Donna as she starts working for them with Kate, Shirley and Melanie (and maybe cameos of Martha and Gwen at Torchwood) and we could see her home life with the Doctor and her family. Imagine watching the 15th Doctor on his adventures for a few months and then, while you wait for season 2, you can see a more earth based show with the 14th Doctor there for comic relief but not the main character.
It's confirmed in one line that Ncuti is a future Doctor, so I'm guessing when 14 dies he then appears on the helipad as 15 (although there are theories that 14 becomes the Curator before becoming 15). It's also confirmed by Russell that 15's Tardis is the same Tardis in the future. It's not made as clear as it could be, however ignoring that (as well as the confusing explanation for bigeneration even happening) it's a perfect ending. This is where the Doctor's been headed for a long long time. In New Who the big theme is that he's traumatised, burnt-out and low-key wanting to settle down. Wanting to be more human was the point of 10's character but the tragedy was he couldn't have it. However these signs do go beyond New Who, with the sadness of losing people but the struggle of settling down going all the way back to the 3rd Doctor. And the common theme with the character since 1963 is that they've never been able to stop. But now the Doctor finally has a reward. However the Doctor is more deserving of this reward than he was in his 10th incarnation as he's learnt how to be himself more and to be more open about his feelings, which has been the big difference between 10 and 14. 10 was closed off and was basically masking all the time, however 14 is more open. Closing off this long running arc also means the Doctor from this point onwards is finally free from his trauma, as we've already seen. This means we have a clean slate for what can be done with the character of the Doctor. In the next time trailer we already see 15 participating in human activities more than other Doctors (while still being his authentic self), meaning we have something to distinguish this incarnation and make him something new.
Having had my own thoughts and seen others that are similar or not, they kind of add up to make something like logical sense... 14 goes on to take it easy and resolve stuff (possibly also becoming The Curator along the way -- he did mention revisiting old faces, so it wasn't his first but maybe this was), then when it's time to regenerate, he gets yoinked back through time and into the bigeneration scene and he's The Doctor again. ("Rehab out of order," so to speak, just like 15 says?) And I think that makes the duplicated TARDIS make sense, too, more or less; if the Doctor ended up inside his old self, why not also the TARDIS? Resolves a lot of stuff off-screen and puts The Doctor right back into his timeline at the point where he takes a break. And allows for the "reboot" type of scenario RTD spoke of. A fresh start.
Me personally I'm glad that RTD has semi-confirmed (along with the dialogue in the episode sort of hinting at this but not very clearly) that 14 will eventually die and go back to his first moments as 15, and his TARDIS isn't a copy either (I reckon his prize was him pulling it from the future, and it would explain why it's suddenly got a jukebox, not that that needs explaining but I'll take any small detail and extrapolate it any way I want, I'm a Doctor Who fan, that's basically like 90% of what we do). Not only would that really invalidate Ncuti as The Doctor, essentially being a "half" if the bi-generation works like mitosis where 1 cell becomes 2 cells, and him flying around in a copy of the TARDIS instead of it being the original, but also because I ultimately see no reason to care about 14's happy ending if he's just a clone. I want The Doctor (y'know, the main character of the TV show) to have a happy ending and settle down for a while (especially because 10's life compared to most other incarnations was short and traumatic), and then he can become Ncuti and be magnificent.
aside from the deliberately ambiguous dialogue in the episode, where has russell actually confirmed this? because i feel like fans are grasping at straws here
@@badwolf8787 One of the confidentials or behind the scenes, he says the TARDIS is the same one from the future and it will be explained and explored in Ncuti's series to prove it.
Glad I subscribed all the way back when you started Buffy, because this is my favourite content you have produced. Great insights and also infectious joy, just what is needed. (Because you are right, too many people on the internet seem intent on having the wrong opinion ;-) ) See you in a fortnight for the xmas special!
I’d love if for what ever reason 14 has to save Donnas life, like a watcher, combining with Donna, bringing back the doctor donna permanently with 14 being inside the Donnas head in a mind palace type situation
****Potential Spoiler based on rumours*** There was a rumor that 14 and Donna would have a little mini-series spin off "Partners in Time" which, when I heard it, I couldn't figure how that could work. After this episode I'm more convinced this will happen at some point. I imagine it would be a more light hearted fun show, nothing too traumatic. Unicorn and the Wasp type storylines.
I loved the reaction. You were talking about having a doctor have a spin off during the run of the new doctor. I totally agree with what you said about there potentially being a divide between the audience in watching the doctor they already know and watching the new doctor. I was wondering if you’ve seen Big Finish audio adventures? They have all the actors come back and record audio plays that take place over their doctor’s run. They have all of them, 1st doctor to 10th doctor with the actual actors returning to reprise their roles as doctors or companions, there are also people narrating stories for all the doctors (although I haven’t seen any 13 stories yet). I really enjoy them, there’s a lot more character development in my opinion and I personally have liked Colin baker much more as a doctor from these audios, a lot of the older doctors get to show a lot more range. They’re very interesting and Paul McGann really gets a chance to shine since he only had the movie and that short for the 50th. Fun fact those companions McGann listed in that short are all ones from the Big Finish audios.
Love seeing someone “yes and-ing” and embracing the decision here instead of just being the embodiment of the caricatures of humanity from the first act of this episode. I had to sit with it for a minute before my inner grumbles quieted a bit - I was having some trouble with the double tardis of it all - but seeing this as his therapy retirement doctor I like the idea of this tardis as his sort of camper van. Settled down with family but taking old blue out on a road trip whenever you feel the need to be the eccentric old uncle. Still though the console might actually need a dust rag from time to time.
Thank you for your thoughtful reaction. I loved The Giggle and your reaction. Would love to continue to hear your thoughts on Ncuti’s run as The Doctor.
Master wise, I think it would be more traumatic for The Doctor if The Master came back with Rose's face. Can you imagine the reveal when The Doctor finally works out that this re-appearance of Rose is really The Master?
Really interesting discussion! I get what you’re saying but also think this an overreaction. Hatred and bigotry flourished just fine without the internet. You’re right that it’s much easier to see people’s opinions which can make it feel that way but I don’t think it’s increased that much in reality. However I think this is counteracted quite a bit by the level of exposure to other cultures and perspectives on the internet. The lack of diversity in so many areas of the world makes it extremely easy to avoid any exposure to other viewpoints/cultures/traditions. Also just finished the video and I really like your explanation of why this special was so good. I agree but it was hard to put into words and you did that very well.
I think 14 goes on to be the curator. That thought makes me happy and I’m sticking to it ☺️ revisiting a few old faces, retiring etc. All the theories are fascinating
I'm autistic and, mostly, housebound. Every day, I'm overwhelmed and intensely stressed, with a lot of muscle and joint pain. I've been told that I look normal and can speak, so there's nothing wrong with me. People, including the government, really do believe people fake being disabled. Hence, why they've now got rid of their Minister for the disabled. The UK has gone fascist.
Are... are there really people on the planet that... think... all people in wheelchairs can't move their legs? ??? Have they never seen someone with only one leg in a cast in a wheelchair?!?! And... they were mad about this?! I'm so confused and concerned at the state of humanity!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
It’s about…advertising, money, and power. If a business makes a place for people to argue and elevate the most controversial and awful takes, people stay on the platform and see the advertising. It’s a cynical take, but they don’t care about opinions and issues…or if they do it’s subservient to money and power.
Do you wonder if your channel counts as a bubble of people following an influencer because we all believe the same thing? I suspect that you are open to having your opinion challenged, but I also suspect that people are much more likely to interact with your videos if they like what you say. I enjoy your videos, and part of that is having similar opinions.
Yeah, it probably does. I wouldn't count myself as an influencer so much but I also generally run away from that word 😂 I guess it comes down to this idea that we're such a polarising species in a lot of ways. I think it's natural to gravitate towards those that share your opinions because you're all of like mind and get on more which makes life easier. I suppose back in the day this would contribute to how communities were formed and who forms them (communities in the sense of literal people gathering as opposed to internet communities). Nowadays communities are more established and you kind of have to coexist unless you geographically move, and even then you're rolling the dice as to whether you find housemates/neighbours/community that are people you get on with. Internet communities make that easier, and I suppose can offset not having a community geographically which is what makes them so appealing. Internet communities are super accessible. So with all that in mind I think it's healthy, but it does go to show how our sense of community in towns and cities is suffering - maybe even BECAUSE people can more accurately and easily find community online. Does this mean we can close ourselves off to those that don't share our worldview? I'd say so. I don't think this is inherently a bad thing but it should be something we're all mindful of so we avoid closing ourselves off to ever improving ourselves. This isn't to say of course we should open ourselves to bigots or phobes, I think they're in a category of themselves and that's another conversation entirely. Anyway, rambling. But you're right. We gather to those that share our opinion and I think that's fine. I suppose for myself I'd just want to promote a bubble that made people feel good and only excluded those that showed they couldn't do anything but harm those in said bubble. I'm open to opposing opinions, I think sometimes those are important to hear but I've learned to draw the line too, for my own peace of mind/mental health, and also as my channel has grown on behalf of those that I know people often attack, which is something I just won't tolerate. In that sense I think online communities (those that follow an influencer/creator) are almost communities under a mayor, a facsimile of what we have in reality; the creator being that mayor as they have ultimate power as to what can be said and tolerated in said community. It's an interesting conversation, sorry for the paragraphs 😅
I agree with so much of what you say but the Actors bit? So only straight actors play straight characters? Only Gay play gay? Only disabled play disabled? Daniel Day Lewis... My Left Foot for example... You might as well take that argument to the extreme...only cast killers as killers because only they know what it's like to kill... This could lead to a rabbit hole but it is discourse and I love it...
I agree with most. Casting an able person as disabled not allowed? Daniel Day Lewis...My Left Foot? RTD said only gay people should play Gay characters? Sorry, it's acting. Yes give more access to people to play who they are, but do not stop actors being able to portray who they are not. If you do, you destroy the art of acting...
'Sorry, it's acting'. What do you think it is when a disabled person plays a disabled role? What I'm talking about doesn't eradicate acting 😂 stop thinking about it so simply. Actors will still obviously be able to portray who they're not, that's what acting is. But unfortunately we've created a world in which we CAN'T have anyone play anyone because of the misrepresentations that no one in the industry cares to account for. If we were better at this stuff what I'm talking about wouldn't matter, but we're not. What you're saying here is so oversimplified that you've missed the point of the conversation and, honestly, shows that you don't understand what is being talked about. EDIT - representation matters because if gay actors or trans actors or disabled actors aren't hired to play the roles that represent them, that simply means they don't get hired. This means only cis, straight, able-bodied folk play those respective roles which means they play ALL roles to the exclusion of gay, trans, and disabled actors, and this is a problem. This is discrimination in the industry and it's rife. You can ignore that if you want, but it doesn't give your opinion much weight.
I'm in two minds about this episode, maybe even more than that. At the end of the day the ending didn't hit me in any meaningful way for any number of reasons. One the one hand it could be too much of a repeated thing with the same doctor for me. Tenant's Doctor got genetically sampled and an adult daughter was created in the form of Jenny (who we've never mentioned again on tv, but I understand the character exists in comics and audio series). Tenant's Doctor's hand regenerated into a human-timelord hybrid version of him and settled down with Rose in an alternate universe. Now Tenant has become the Doctor again, and then gets bi-generated. He's still a time-lord and if he carries on like this he going to keep multiplying until we have a full cast of genetic offshoots and clones kicking around. Some people seem to like the idea that now there two of him, imagine what could happen! However, I saw there's a lot more than two of him. All the versions of the Doctor are still out there. Even two episodes ago Unit just figured they'd ran into the tenth Doctor. Then there's the fact that different versions of the Doctor also run into each other from time to time. For all we know Ten and Fourteen could bump into each other at some point. Even all the future versions of the Doctor are already out there, because it's time travel. Just because on this occasion one incarnation of him didn't cease to be doesn't actually change the whole dynamic. They've even given both of them a Tardis, which is also why the idea of Tenant's Doctor being able to settle down doesn't work for me. Tenant's Doctor still has a Tardis. He's still using it. He never went looking for trouble before, he won't go looking for it now. He'll find it anyway, and he'll find it where it finds him. He's still him, and the next time he runs into trouble he'll be the Doctor and do what the Doctor does. He won't wait around to see if another version of him will turn up to solve it. Edit: I forget to mention that I did really enjoy this episode and the Q (from Star Trek) vibes I got from the Toymaker, emotionally it just missed the mark for me.
Instant follow for calling out toxicity in the fandom, I’m so tired of stumbling onto channels that want to rant and rave at everything for the sake of being exclusionary, thank you for being sane ❤️
Honestly people like that, who just rant about inclusion, don't even consider them part of the fandom
_"it felt more like mockery."_
Dang, yeah, i hear you a LOT.
And then... uh... i guess someone said, "No, see, we need to show a REAL hispanic character." 😐
So they made a single mom.
with a bad accent.
working a minimum wage job, which she immediately quits.
and is dependent on others for money.
i don't even think i finished the first episode.
Not everyone in a wheelchair is unable to move their legs, some can even stand or move without one but it hurts.
yeah, ive a 14 year old daughter daughter with spina bifida which is what ruth, she uses a wheelchair but can stand and move about without it so long as shes got something to put her weight on, people say shes faking it because they see her stand up and i have to explain that spina bifida isnt the same as being paralyzed
edit: my daughter loved seeing a badass women in a wheelchair, but didnt like her accent
Your Dialogue is absolutely beautiful, I'm only at the part where the Toymaker was offended when Donna said he'd cheat but your absolute grasp of this episode is helping me so much and I'm so excited to see the regeneration and how you react.
❤️😊🙏
I enjoyed all three shows.
Personally I think 14 will become the Curator. Just happy and relaxing on Earth while The Doctors out saving the Universe
The pandemic satire was genius and hilarious
I really want to see a previous doctor come back as the master. I would LOVE to see Peter Capaldi as the master, especially with Missy's whole arc during his run. It would be so much fun to see a multi doctor episode but it turns out halfway through, one of the doctors is actually the master.
Stop it! I love that idea
Love your reaction and commentary, so amazing to find others feeling the same way about the episode.
Your commentary on the 60th anniversary specials is the best I've seen! Please do the Christmas special as well.
My friends and I have been having watch parties for the specials and when the regeneration happened we were all screaming. And then we accepted it.
Eventually.
You always approach media with such a thoughtful and open-minded perspective. I wish there were more people like that
Dang!! Probably the best analysis/reaction I've seen so far. Very nice, subbed :]
I have seen a lot of reactions to The Giggle, this was the most complete I have seen. Loved that you covered all the aspects of the episode. How you managed to put so much reaction into less than 40 minutes was amazing. Fantastic!
I never realized how amazing their disabled representation has become. I knew they were doing it after reading about Davros but... Damn.
I want a spin-off with Fourteen and his found family 😊
I love your reactions. I've not seen many TH-camrs who are so thoughtful and interesting in their analysis. Also loving your good place reactions!
I am a new subscriber. Thank you for being another voice of sanity and reason! Please keep reacting to Doctor Who 👍
Great theory on Tennant being the new Master, and I think it's only bolstered by Tennant staying on the show.
Love your editing commentary. Love your perspective.
This is by far my favorite reaction to this episode. If I hadn't already followed I would now. I can't wait for Christmas!
This was an awesome run of reactions, thank you so much!
Thanks for being here! ❤️
I've loved your reactions to all of these specials ❤
(Because you are right, too many people on the internet seem intent on having the wrong opinion ;-) )
See you in a fortnight for the xmas special!
I’d love if for what ever reason 14 has to save Donnas life, like a watcher, combining with Donna, bringing back the doctor donna permanently with 14 being inside the Donnas head in a mind palace type situation
****Potential Spoiler based on rumours***
There was a rumor that 14 and Donna would have a little mini-series spin off "Partners in Time" which, when I heard it, I couldn't figure how that could work.
It was bi-generation but only *one* set of clothes. Ncuti got the shirt, tie, shoes and underpants . David was left with the rest.
Such a lovely reaction, thank you!
You said you want Tennant playing the Master but that's basically Killgrave from Jessica Jones.
That is exactly what I had in mind 😂
Loved your reaction. Subscribed now :) ... also in the final battle David is 100% commando since ncuti got the undies 😂
Instant follow, mate 👍 All your comments were spot-on 😍
It very much implied that the 15th doctor is from the doctors future and the 14th will regenerate later on and travel to the bi-regenerated
There's something so density and appealing watching your videos matey it's like ....gorgeous thankful always 💙💙✨
Thank you for your thoughtful reaction. I loved The Giggle and your reaction. Would love to continue to hear your thoughts on Ncuti’s run as The Doctor.
Yeah, it is absolutely amazing to see an ambulatory wheelchair user represented and address the ableism they face.
Basically 15 is from the future and so is the TARDIS both were pulled into the events of Giggle
That's what I was thinking. "I'm okay because you fix yourself" implies that 10 will eventually become 15.
Master wise, I think it would be more traumatic for The Doctor if The Master came back with Rose's face. Can you imagine the reveal when The Doctor finally works out that this re-appearance of Rose is really The Master?
Holy shit 👀
Great analysis.
Oh i dont know, i think Neil Harris is abit of a shrinking violent. What do you think? 😂
If you like evil tenant, you should see first season of jessica jones, you will love the acting
It’s about…advertising, money, and power. If a business makes a place for people to argue and elevate the most controversial and awful takes, people stay on the platform and see the advertising. It’s a cynical take, but they don’t care about opinions and issues…or if they do it’s subservient to money and power.
I had so much fun watching this episode! Definitely didn't help my aversion to marionettes, though :p
I think they are setting up a unit seris with14 guesting couple of episodes a seasons!
That seems likely given they've introduced so many UNIT characters. I'll be happy to see it, but it feels too similar to Torchwood to me.
Doctor who two
....
DOCTOR TWO?
It's Kate's hand. Watch her nails before. Why would she sport a bright red - visible?
Or it's another villain from the Ncuti series.
Perfect? Ok buddy. /smh
