The Zone is an easy casting saltwater fly rod with enough juice to accommodate any species.

I don’t know much about fly fishing, but love watching this guy cast. Makes it look so easy 👍👍
Just purchased one in 8 wt. w/ a Tibor Everglades reel for SW Florida beach and mangrove fishing from Red's based upon your review. Thank you! Love your honest and concise reviews!
Thanks so much, really appreciate the business and kind words. Thank you!
Congrats joe, hopefully you come back to the Yakima and catch another grand slam! The pinkeminnow, whitefish, and trout!!!
I would be happy either way!
Hey Joe, how would you compare the Zone to the Sage Maverick for this price range? Thanks,
Most of my fly fishing is from a kayak in warm water here in south Jersey. I have been eyeballing the new 9 ft 6 inch 6 weight zone for my lake fishing and streamer trout fishing. Being primarily a fiberglass guy (use a 7 wt bad ass glass for largemouth) do you feel this rods action would bridge the gap from faster carbon to slower action like glass?
What is your line pick for the zone 10wt?
Any thoughts on the zone in 486-4 for medium to medium small streams? Along with dry flies would it be capable of light nymph set ups and maybe an occasional wooly bugger?
Oh yes that rod will handle all of that, no problem, just keep your leaders short. 7' would be good for a bugger or a 2 fly rig. That rod will mend, feel line, an allow you to feather in some touchy dry fly casts. I think you'll love it.
Joe, where are you fishing here? What Lodge?
What about the T and T Avantt?
Haven't fished the Avantt yet, I need to do that.
What wt is that zone?
#10, really easy rod to cast. No complaints on power either as far as casting goes. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10 on raw performance, an 8 on ease of casting.
Do the 5 and 6 weight next
Ok! Happy to do that.
