hi Allison, I really enjoy your humble, authentic, and deeply sensitive deportment. Your watercolor paintings are really beautiful and remind me of imprints of human souls that are in deep reflection, or gratitude but in an overall peaceful and positive space. If I could see souls or auras, I imagine them resembling something very similar to your work. I have the same thumbs as you, only mine are alot more intense in the width and girth, I have only seen one other person with the 'mysterious' toe thumbs! thank you for sharing your process and work!
Hi Allison, I'm a new sub from Indonesia🇮🇩. I love your art style. It's so beautiful and inspiring. I'm so excited to try. Thank you for sharing your amazing art ❤
Thank you so much 👍 I love to watch beautiful watercolor flow and drip. I love your idea of using mixed media paper for excess paint removal! Brilliant! And I am watching lots and listening more so I can intuitively paint 🎨 and having several in rotation takes away the watching paint dry phases! I play with color with no real subject in mind - so freeing!🎉🎉🎉
You remarking that you crave colors (I do too) reminds me that each color carries it’s own vibration and healing ❤ I’m a new sub; so glad I found you’re beautiful and inspirational work.
I just came across your video and I love your painting style and that you put a feeling with every piece. I love to do mixed media type inks and just how they naturally flow. Looking forward to seeing many more videos for inspiration. Have a blessed day ❤
Dear Alison, I love so much what you do. I’m right now on a healing trip and took my beloved colours with me and will try to practice your style. Hoping this lose way will support me. Thank you so much.
That’s so great to hear. I hope you find creativity and healing, and good moments that you can secure in as memories of the trip. Art is healing without those pressures we tend to place on ourselves. Xx
Super cute. I second the use of Dorland's wax. That stuff is awesome! I was featured in an exhibition and put a lot of my watercolor paintings in the show. I did them on Arches, then attached them to cradle boards, wired the backs, added the Dorland's on the painting and wallah, done!
@@allisondawrant On some of them I didn't have time to varnish, so it just had the wax on them. I use high end lightfast paints, so don't think I need to worry too much about them fading.
When using the Darland cold wax medium to coat your watercolor art do you dilute it like a glaze to coat the painting? If you do what do you dilute it with? I have another brand of cold was that I have used in oil paint. Would that work as well as the Durland? Thank you…I love watching you…you explain everything so well. I love the thought of using the shadow box frame. Thank you…you are so sweet! Charlotte🥰🤗
Hi, the two cold wax medium brands that I've used are Dorland's cold wax and Gamblin cold wax. Both are equally as good from what I can tell/ researched. I use gloves and I don't dilute the wax medium. I put it with a white cloth/old tshirt... It can be tough to avoid dust particles... but it's a great way to seal and protect the watercolours. I'm not sure if the cold wax has UV protection... still learning a bit about that. Bob Blast has a great video on applying cold wax to acrylic and watercolour paintings. Let me know if I can help further. (also- I have never used oil paints, but an artist @wendybrightbill who has youtube videos and great classes- uses wax medium with her oil painting. )
I just love your poetry paintings! The colors really are dreamy! I’m trying to learn to hush those creatively destructive voices as you learned to do. What paints are in the palette to the right of the Kuretake?
TH-cam suggested you for me and I was hooked within the 1st 2mins & subscribed right then. Love your art, approach, and ability to clearly convey your ideas to viewers. Thank u!

Do you use a UV protectant too or just the Dorlands? Thanks

thanks! The palette is by Mozart, Komorebi , a Japanese watercolour brand.
Hi fellow Albertan! I make videos to. I love your work!
Hello! Nice to have another Albertan on here, and creative,
Beautiful pieces! Do you prep the Crescent board before you use watercolor?
Thank you, no I don’t prep the crescent board before painting on it .
