All you have to do it take off the triangle piece of trim on the outside. 3 screws, then slip it out of the molding. The window slides right in after. I spent 2.5 hours trying to manipulate the glass in the door. After pulling the triangle trim off, I had it in almost instantly, just slides in straight from the outside.
This is the way. There are three screws and then a bolt that holds the window tight. Undo the bolt, slide it left and that will provide space for the window to slide in. Super easy.
Same thing happened to my car and i cant afford to take it to my dealership but it seemed easy enough to fix. Thanks so much for putting this out there after that kia boy trend ❤
ok guys for the back window to get it in you have to remove the bolt and nut on the mechanism slide on the left side, now the bolt with the nut it seems to be permanently fixed to the mechanism inside, you want to push that in and it should give you room to wiggle the window so its even and you can slide it up. The door has a curb on the left side so it can only go so far so becareful. but you do not need to take the door handle off or unscrew or anything the left slide needs to just be pushed aside to create an inch or two more room to wiggle it in. goodluck!
So just completed. Rear window track moved a bit when silver bolt and two black nuts are removed, Put glass piece in front first. Glass should be outside front and rear window tracks. I had to push rear track out of way to achive this. When glass is level, put glass all the way to front and put rear side in track. Next push glass to rear enough to get front edge in track. Now lift glass up to top. Put rear track bolt and nuts back on. Lower window by hand to make sure it fits. Position gllass bolt anchor in white door regulator. Lower or rase to aline to bolt plug in door. Had to connect inner door switch and turn ignition to allow window regulator to move. So loosening rear track and putting in glass outside glass tracks toward door is the key. Good Luck!
Well most the things you said worked great but I’m having a real problem getting the window into the track but the window hangs up in the rear of the door or if I try the other way it hangs up in the front just can’t get it into the door all the way but I’m not giving up you said it was a real pain in the ass and so far your right
After spending 2 hours almost breaking my door window glass trying to get it to fit back in the track of the window I have to add another comment that I cannot believe this man or another video where a guy does the same thing and doesn't explain anything about how to get the window to actually fit back in the door without breaking it, no hints, no clues, no insight about how much you will probably almost break the glass while trying to get it to fit in and think you're going to break it and be afraid to break it and then still give you no idea on exactly how He got it in the track. 12:41
Thank you the video as I need to replace a wind like this myself on a 2012 Kia Soul. What year is this? I also need to replace the little triangle wind. Do you have any suggestions?
The little window likely is just held on with butyl tape/glue. Just remove all the broken bits, and use a plastic scraper to remove the old adhesive. Clean and prep the surface with alcohol, then apply new sealant and put the new piece of glass. ChrisFix is a channel that has a ton of general repair / maintenance videos. He did one on replacing the rear glass. The process should be mostly the same. Edit: By rear glass, I mean the very rear window, with the wiper / defogger lines. That's what ChrisFix did a video on.
It's a huge pain. I had to drop it in at an angle and then feed it into the track while pulling it up. I was worried that I would break the glass a few times, but I got it in.
It is a pain in the ass. I took the left track out, slid the window in place, pushed it up and taped it. Then I put the black panel/mechanism back. Pushed the glass all the way down and then fed the side track down from the top. It was difficult.
Happened to me a few days after I had to replace my windshield. They didn't try to steal my car or take any of my stuff. I didn't have anything valuable. My dashcam didn't record anything, and neighbors didn't call the police while watching this. Just sad.
I appreciate the video on your Daughters Car. I have to do the same because someone tried to steal it. But the shoved a screwdriver and broke ignition switch. Do you have instructions/video on that or would that be a dealership fix.
I don't have a video on repairing the ignition. The dealer told my daughter that the ignitions are backordered indefinitely, so she still has an open ignition and locks it up with a steering wheel lock that was provided by Kia.

Can you please elaborate on this sir? Doing this
This video came me the confidence I needed to give a window repair a shot. Thanks for uploading this!

Glad that it will help.
really wish youd show how to actually get rhe glass in place
You dropped the window in but shown nothing else. It just drops in? No bolts?

This was very helpful!!! Thank you so much!!! Same thing happened to my window!!
My daughter’s window was broken last night. Hopefully I can find some replacement glass today. Thanks for the tutorial 😃
I hope it helps.

Some things you left out in doing the job but overall very helpful . Thanks .
Right, like how to put the door handle back on lol
@@jairesesame way it was taken off?
How do you screw the glass into the track? There's only a quarter of an inch to work with and attempting to screw it in, forces it to be misaligned.

Glad the video was helpful, her car is a 2016. As far as the smaller window, I have not replaced one of those.

How in the hell do you get the glass in it? I have been at this for 2 hours and made no progress :(

2 hours plus I’ve put the window every which way no luck.
Do you have any tips on how to get the window in?

What tools did you use
Flat tip screwdriver, pick, phillips screwdriver, 10mm socket, t30 hex bit.
Would it be the same process for a 2013 Kia soul?
Yes.
Same problem but for a 2019 Kia forte
Mine has been broken in 10 times
