The SSD boards have already been copied - so at some point, we should be able to buy blank third part SSDs (already mounted). A good business opportunity for someone.
that would be nice but no, this is an upgrade to the current board and you would need to take it out, send it in and then DFU it on your iMac before timemachine the contents back or setting up from scratch ... I imagine someone will do a turn around service and you can send it ALL in and get it back done but for now, only these hi-tekieie can do it on thier own like DosDude1 and this guy
Will u upgrade the SSD for the mac mini M4 Pro in the future? Would be great and i'm sure all of us would like to watch that video too. thank you in advance 🙏
You CANT do the ram as its factory soldered on beside the CPU package with an almost 99.99% chance it wont work ~ buy a bigger mac spec, it sucks but it works
Umm.. I don't get about what the point of data encription testing in this vid. Is anyone help me to understand? For my understand the data encryption testing is about is anothor machine able to read the from owner machine isn't it?
All the Apple products are made in China and the channel is a Chinese channel, So they have access to everything that Apple is gatekeeping to sell it to you with a premium price tag!
This doesn’t help at all. What about exchanging one SSD-Expansion board from one Mac Mini M4 to another M4 or M4 pro PC? Are they protected? Where to buy those Boards or those Chips?
M4 Mac mini and M4 pro Mac Mini have different shaped SSDs (Apple proprietary bs) and whatever new drives are put into the Mac mini the NAND chips have to be completely empty
the memory modules on these systems are now soldered and integrated into the M4 chips, so you can't upgrade them now. No one publicly upgraded one yet as of this post.
i understand the want to beat Apple at their game of conning us all to but their own very expensive memory, and they use very clever marketing to get us to do so ( i have fallen for it on my new mac mini) , But , is it realy worth risking damaging the mac mini , voiding your warranty , just to save a few tens of pounds/dollars . Its not a critisism in any way , just another way of looking at the means to the end of beating Apple at their game.
If you know what you’re doing maybe, but I get your point. And after the warranty expires is no longer a problem. Too bad the read speed didn’t increase comparing to the base 256 GB model. But At least the write speeds increased.

Nice, now let's do a RAM update

So on my laptop i just open up the bottom 6 screws, 1 screen for the ssd, replace, and close back....apple is truely geniuses
Any chance I can get a link to those nand chips?
Dosdude1 shared that info. the 256gb board is upgradeable to 1tb this way but the 2tb didnt work

Well exchangeable remains relative…
better idea to upgrade from you rather than buy the high capacity M4 at exorbitant price
how about the RAM upgrade?
@@sachinmesta4238 ram cant be upgraded right now
@@sachinmesta4238 Practically impossible
ram is soldered on. cant do anything about that. only positive is that they now start off with 16gb of ram.
