Honestly even through a lil screen, you’re such good company. I’ve hit such a low point and your videos help so much. I’m gonna write it here so that I follow through with it: I’m gonna have a little bit of chocolate to make up for my difficult meal, and then share something I struggle to eat with my grandad! X Update: I followed through

I feel like I may explode if I don’t say this lol, but Ro, you are an incredibly kind person, it in NO way makes you rude to address people who are quite literally ignoring the "boundaries" you have set in place or explained. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure you’ve mentioned the fact that your PTSD is a difficult topic multiple times, and I’m sure I can remember you saying that you don’t feel comfortable sharing those things on the internet right now, so I honestly just can’t comprehend why people would still bother asking? Clearly there’s a reason you don’t speak about those things😩 anyways rant over, love you roisin❤

RE the meal plan question - my mental health nurse used to tell me to add extra food if I am hungry for it and to use my meal plan as a minimum to eat in a day, because I was outside of the danger zone for refeeding syndrome when my extreme hunger kicked in. I did get my meal plan increased eventually too because the first one wasn't enough to make me gain weight, as you need a lot of energy for your body to repair. It is totally normal to really hungry during this point as the primal part of your body/brain is registering this as the end of a very long time where food wasn't available

I dropped out of a levels due to my metal health, I did an apprenticeship where I ended up being used as cheap labour. I now work at Waitrose and am doing a retail management apprenticeship with them, the structure of this learning works much better for me as I have a lot of anxiety around money. There are more options than just a levels :) you can also definitely get by without them as so many employers are willing to look past your education and look at your character/personality :)

I haven't watched your videos in a while (about a year) but I thought about you today and was wondering how you've been doing so I clicked on this video. When I first started watching your videos, you were recovering and you were having a really hard time eating food. Around that time I was also having trouble eating not because of the same thing but because of anxiety and depression I always felt sick and couldn't eat much. I lost like 30 pounds and decided I wanted to try and start eating again before it got too bad so I came across your channel. I would eat with you so to speak and seeing you struggle but still push through it and eat your food really helped me eat again too. I just want to say thank you so much for helping me through the hardest time of my life and helping me get my life back on track food wise. 🥲 I can't believe how much you've changed since I last saw one of your videos and I am so SO proud of you!! And of course, I'm very happy for you as well. 💜

    • @tina9866
      @tina9866 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

My mom is a therapist and also does emdr and I hope I get this somewhat right but I don't think that you need to be scared.
When it comes to talking about your feelings or what has happened it's often easier because there is no need to linger on specific moments or thoughts but you very much rather jump to the next thing that comes up. You kind of don't take a deep dive into a specific feeling and let it overtake you if that makes sense to you.
Also if you don't want to say what comes to mind you don't have to, emdr works regardless.
The cool thing about emdr is that it is very effective and a very fast way to process trauma without it being overwhelming even though you process a lot.
I do hope that you have a good therapist and that you feel comfortable with them.
I hope that helped a little bit. Good luck with everything!

Hi Ro, I remember I watched your very first video like a year ago, i don't have any ED, but I remember I watched that video and think: "I hope she can get to the point she wants to, I hope she can make it" And voilá, after a year I came back to your channel and it is amazing to know you finally made it.
Recently a friend of mine was diagnosed with Anorexia, and I don't really know how to help her, I'm scared of doing something bad. What if I say something that works like an aid for her in my mind, to only find it triggers her the more? I would really really really appreciate if you could make a video talking from your perspective on how someone with an ED can be helped.

🍁 Canada represent! I've been to Europe but never the UK so I'd love to visit, anyway not on topic and I've only commented a few times and they're so long-winded as I ramble, but your videos have helped me w a lot of my struggles though some/many aspects are obviously different so when I try to get inspiration or advice from others a big part of me or my brain is like, "well you're different you have this and that and etc so you cant be free" but then I try to remind myself that the same could be said for anyone else, everyone has unique struggles. It's just frustrating as I've been struggling for so long and seeing others (not mentioning *anyone* in particular I would never even imply that I know someone's life) moving forward is tough. But anyway, ffs I keep making these long ass comments and I'm sure they drive you away but that's all, lots of love xox ❤

No way, did u go to bologne on the day trip in France? I went there too with my school in y8 there were no boys cause I went to a girls school, but some of the girls got fake cigarettes and fireworks so their coach got held up and they got back at like 11pm or something. We went into so many shops including a cheese shop, knockoff perfume shops but couldn’t go into Sephora cause all the others crammed in there

Hi! You probably won’t answer- I don’t expect you to- but I’m on Wedgwood at the minute… it’s really hard - I just want to know how to cope- I hope this doesn’t trigger you, I just want to know- what makes it better?

As a longtime sufferer of an ED, PTSD and panic disorder, I can’t even begin to tell you what a huge inspiration you are. And I’m so proud of you for leaving uni. It sounds like it was a very positive choice for you! And as a mental health professional, I’m very curious to hear more about your experience with EMDR! I’m glad to hear it seems to be working for you! Thank you for putting yourself out there, Ro!

From my experience with EMDR treatment for my PTSD, I healed completely and don't know whether it's actually from the treatment or some mental clearance. But I got that treatment back in 2019 and am fully recovered from PTSD since 2021. I still do have the memory and some triggers that make me think back to the trauma (locations, stepping in a car, social media apps, men, etc) but I don't avoid or react to it, just a flash of the trauma and I move on. Hopefully your results with EDMR are similar to mine or yet even better, because going outside and doing things is so much fun!!

I had a very similar lump on my neck. I asked my auntie as she is a nurse and she said it’s very common in young people to get swollen lymph nodes - they develop through stress and go away on there own😊

There’s a difference between being an “influencer” who sort of glamorizes their life to sell products for companies, and being a content creator. Kind of like the difference between a celebrity - and an actor who is devoted to their craft. I’d call you a content creator.

I just wanted to say that even if you are doing this to some degree for money that’s totally fine. We shouldn’t be ashamed at making or needing money. I work as a mental health clinician and I love helping people but also couldn’t do it without the money! You are sharing your lived experience, knowledge and giving a lot of time and really that can’t all be for free ❤
