If you can listen to that bass and not want to bob your head, I don't think we can be friends. GOD, were they awesome. Rest in Peace, my Southern Brother from Another Mother.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers never quite sounded the same after Stan left, and not really for the better. Stan, may not have liked this era, but he nails it here.
This is from the tour DVD, which was recorded live. They had to do some editing for the release and I caught what you were seeing, especially with Tom's scarf.
+ Jota Q Yes, some rock musicians re-edit their live recordings with a few overdubs in the studio, what's wrong with that? Are you a purist from Scientology or a weird Evangelical "church"? Such morons have always contributed to the most puristic mess on earth. Cool down, baby. This video was also shown on MTV in 1993 as a full trailer for the Psychotic Reaction live album.
I'm not sure why this song didn't catch on like Tom's others. It's one of my favorites
Couldn't agree more 👍👍👍
Agree 💯 ❤ love this tune. Mr. Petty, you were my favorite singer, songwriter, poet, and storyteller. I love ❤️ you and miss you so much xo
Would be interesting to find out why the record company didn't release this as a single. Tom's best by far!
This song is more for the musicians in the crowd than the masses,in tone, message & delivery. It's a departure from his regular material.
You have to be supercool to write a song like that, n have as much fun playing it, miss ya Tom
Mike Campbell very, extremly underrated guitarist, so fucking talented
Tom is a legend. The best definition of rock n roll. The Heartbreakers are such an under rated band.
You should have 100M hits from this....its the BEST I've seen. THANK YOU
the rhythm in this song kicks ass
also that drum kits mic'd up perfectly
SOLID SET
Just wow! I got goosebumps listening to this. Mike SHREDS it. The rest of the guys were pretty f’in awesome too 😊
"Give a big hand to Mike Campbell playing the guitar for ya!! "
Even HOWIE was diggin' it!! Mike Campbell is a genius!!!!!
- this is an awesome live performance by T.P. & The Heartbreakers! thanks for posting.
I saw an interview with Tom many years ago. He had said Runnin Down a Dream and Out in the cold were songs he thought sounded like ACDC .
Cause I'm out in the cold!❤
Great album and a great song - thanks for the gifts Tom you are sorely missed 💙🎸🥁
By far, this is their best song!!!
Yes I agree❤❤
RIP Tom Petty 🙏

I absolutely love this song, and my favorite look on Tom. Damn he could rock a bandanna!

They got better after he gone
Steve Ferrone is an accomplished musician. Stan and Steve have different drumming styles and personalities. Both were excellent
Awesome, THANKS
Why removed other videos? Please up load it's too good to be TRUE.

When's the dance floor going to reopen ???

Stan Lynch da man
Real live? watch carefully... there's something weird. I am not sure.

I did not mean the scarf, but rather some guitars and choirs... After reading your post, I am clear that the sound was edited and not a little.
Fuckers ruined it for me....lol ;)

It has a slick overproduced sound. Par for the course in the early 1990s.
Stan Lynch not much of a drummer and he has shitty look on his face not good for stage presance
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
