reminds me of the online version of Beethoven 9 by NHK orchestra have during the pandemic, it is their tradition to have a so-called "10000 Freude" for Beethoven 9 every year, and they haven't abandoned this during the two years during the pandemic.

I don’t think future generations will ever understand what we went through and how we used the healing power of music to survive in a separated and disconnected world. Much like our forbearers did before our generations that we tried but failed to understand. But our time was so different, we could see each other but not touch, or feel the breath of an ensemble of musicians. We became isolated and singular, and our society will never be the same from it. But the way we still leaned on each other just for a small piece of time, alone in our rooms, playing for no one but ourselves, and trying to stay connected to a world that had inexplicably changed in the blink of an eye.

This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen/heard. Mahler 2 can be hard enough to keep together live, but synched from dozens of remote sites? The audio balance along is a feat, but the visual/audio alignments are so tight. Bravo to one and all.

How did it go? Of course it was fantastic, I didn't need to ask. I sang this with the L.A. Philharmonic/Master Chorale many years ago at the Hollywood Bowl. I remember this fondly, sitting on stage as if I were getting a free concert by one of the world's finest orchestras, and all I had to do was sing a little near the end!

Frank Zappa one tried to have his music played by a large orchestra in which every person was in a plastic bubble so that every instrument could be recorded without interference with other instruments, which turned out to be a bad idea at the time. While the jury is still not out: I think you achieve's Zappa's dream better than he ever realized, even though it does suffocate a bit. but that's to be expected with little rooms, not to mention Covid. Add to that: I like Mahler even better than Zappa. In conclusion: This is nothing short of absolutely wonderful and I thank you for it. Please keep up the good music, but please, don't suffocate yourselves any more. Thank you for your consideration.
