  • In this episode, I talk about the development of Borderline Personality Disorder from a research perspective. I also encourage loved ones of individuals with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder to do more to understand how their perception differs from the Borderline perception and how they can meet their loved ones where they are. I also answer a question about Moral Compass work and why it is so important that this work get done, even if you think it is irrelevant to your Borderline Personality Disorder Recovery. My partner is 48,
He had massive sexual emotional and physical abuse as a child. I’m really committed to trying to make sure that he’s well in the future I love him very much. However I find that I have my own traits that point to borderline in some instances. And you’re certainly right about the therapists and hospitals and everyone else don’t want them especially a 6 foot three very fit very muscular man who can throw a tantrum and then actually disassociates and not remember what he’s done in that tantrum. 😞

A parent has one obligation to a child - to love him/her. There is just no excuse for this failure.

You are right, though intergenerational trauma is something that people fight against. I think more it's that there is no excuse to give up and not fight against intergenerational trauma. Thoughts?

What your mother did to you, that's worse enough. It sadden me very much that we lowered our standards of how people should treat one another, to a point that childeren are expected to be resilent to a parent treating them like this.
