It's nice to see this game getting videos like this! It gives me some hope for it, and it's nice to have the help starting out. I'm interested in building Lindiwe - she seems interesting, but I worry that it focuses so much on building up only the Companion Expedition, and only two boosts at a time. I don't know what your plans are for future videos, but I'm very interested in seeing you do Lyra! I'm curious what you think about Fen and Auraq.
@@jacobbiggs7956 I'm glad you appreciate the content! I wanted to replicate some of my favorite channels from other games. I agree that if you go too all in on boosting maw your opponent will be able to play around it. It's probably best to only sacrifice around once a turn so you aren't overcomitting on an uncontested companion expedition. I think you can supliment the sacrifice with some control tools and take advantage of the after you from babas isba. I think Auraq and Fen are both solid. The design will bring some variance into your games but the tools available and average results are quite good!
Your videos are really amazing ! I might only disagree on sleeping beauty in afanas, which I think is a 3/3. Not only 2sleep + 2 boost is a great finisher, but since , yo can sleep your own creature while boosting them, it very versatile at earlier stage of the game. Don't sleep on this card !

While trying other cards like Small Step that aren't consistently good I found that I can only afford to run so many of these cards in my deck before I get too many bad hands, but maybe I should be cutting back on the others instead and make more room for beauty sleep!
I think Hua Mulan will see some play in Afanas. Afanas has issues with low creature counts in my experience and Hua Mulan just sticking around all the time solves that issue. There were a couple of other things that I didn't agree with (which I now forget), but then I'm not really an expert in Ymzir and you have much more play experience. Great review as always Trickster.
Always coming in with the facts! It did feel a little wrong to give Hua Mulan a 1 everywhere. I think it is a card that will definitely see play eventually even if it isn't right now.

@@atmosph3r377 if you have prior tcg knowledge I think you'll learn pretty fast! I'd just play whichever seems the most fun to you because none of them are exceptionally complicated and this early on the meta isn't defined yet. If you want to win the most I do think afanas has a bit of an edge.
Hello, Thanks for the video. I disagree with you about Meditation Training with Lindiwe, for me it's a 3 because you can anchor Maw in order to accumulate boost each time you sacrifice. With this strategy in mind, Augur Ysmir rare is good too. 😉 (and Muna Caregiver may be useful too). With Lindiwe, Baba'isba is useful to always have a sacrifice action (after you is a bonus). I don't know if there is a way to use it with Akesha, it will be strong to be able to do after you twice in a row. 🤔

@@TricksterCG Unfortunately Maw can only be played on the companion side, but the second Maw can either get some boost too or be sacified if you have nothing else. So Maw boosted can manage the companion side, you need some other character to take the board on the hero side (Kuwat can do the job before the Kraken).
The stats aren't great. I think afanas can do okay by reusing mage and blade dancers with meditation training and helping hand. Hopefully the 3 unique characters that players will swap in can help too!
Nice review, one thing I'll say is that Flamel feels more like a 2/3 in Akesha, as I found a lot of the spells you want to be playing has fleeting which can't be removed unless you either play R Lady of the Lake, or the Yzmir Bastion, which is too much of a tempo lost imo and weak to removal, as you mentioned. I can understand being able to reuse Magical Training and Off You Go, but I feel that being able to just reuse 6 card out of 39 is too few to be considered a 3/3. Though if R Lady of the Lake was ranked higher, than I could see it being 3/3 in Akesha, even with the small stats.

Sneezer shroom is a 2/3 in akesha for me, the fact that the card stay 1 more turn is really strong. Your card in akesha are week so 1/1/1 for 2 is ok but the next turn you have a 2/2/2 for free and you just have to defend it. Why not a 3/3, just cause it's taking a rare slot and akesha want other cards. Ordis cadet as a 1/3 for all hero ?! A rellay nice card for lindiwe, get you two character that you can sacrifice. you get a 1/1/0 and a 1/1/1 so you can just sacrifice the 1/1/0 and the discard effect is a nice bonus to have. 2/3 minimum for lindiwe and even a 3/3 for me. Off you go! commun 3/3 yep, Off you go! rare is a 2/3 for everyone (at lest Akesha) and can be a 1/3 or a 3/3 depending on the meta. if we see a lot of 4+ character being played then it will rise in play and if wil only see a lot a 3cost or less the it won't see play. this is one of the card that will be in and out of deck until the meta stabilize. Kraken wrath is a 2/3 for everyone for me, even when you face a lot of axiom/ordis player you only put one or two of them cause in all other matchup it end up in mana (if ordis / axiom are the top meta faction then 3/3 for akesha yes) Beauty sleep is one of the most broken card from the hand. being able to cheat a win is really good, playing it from the reserv is hard yes. for me it's 3/3 for Akesha and Afanas and 2/3 for Lindiwe Good video, ordis or bravos next ?
Great analysis! It is hard to rate some of these removal spells because they are only as good as the situations you get to use them in. I think rare off you go isn't bad for sure but I think it is very unlikely to have frequent good targets in set 1. Beauty sleep could see more play especially if the decks have enough draw to keep a full hand. My biggest problem with it was getting forced to play it at a bad time in the mid game with few cards available. Sneezer could be good in Akesha, I haven't seen people using it but your logic makes sense. I wonder if ordis carrier would be better because you get the token every day for the rest of the game even though it is more costly to set up. I thought about the cadets in lindewe but you need to sacrifice the token or it goes to discard. I can still see it being ok but I am not sure if it is better than rare stargazer which has better stats if you don't sacrifice or 1 drops that leave you with 1 more mana instead of a 1/1/0 on the board. Yeah Beauty sleep in the mid game is one of the worst spell for one reason : you never know the use of it. should it be on one of my character, in mana or do i take the risk to put it on an opp character ? In late game the spell is much more easy to use and strong. But the tech it can give is huge, if you lose an expedition ok i can sleep my own blade dancer or mage dancer keep them for next turn for one mana and get a boost (in afanas). For Akesha it's a good control spell can pair well with isitoq or other control card that mess with expeditions, not a 3 copy card tho 2 is enough (or if meta demands it) and for Lindiwe yeah she won't run it.
Good question! They will have 3 expansion a year moving forward. There will not be another kickstarter now that the word is out. I believe the next expansion is in January and then one every 4 months after that but someone can correct me if they remember better.

I thought tokens don't have a hand cost and therefore couldn't be removed with spells like krakens wrath?
Token have a cost of 0, just like in MtG.
As someone has shared they are treated as hand cost 0. It can be spicy to remove two 3 cost characters and two tokens with a rare wrath!
