Man, you should do a tutorial that teaches other TH-camrs to do better tutorials. This was so helpful and on point, thank you!!

First and formost I absolutely love all of your content and this channel. Easily the best of the best.
Also want to add that it’s amazing to see how you so professionally talk around the bugs and shortcomings of software from a multi-billion dollar company like Adobe without so much as one little negative complaint. Such as importing vector into AE and having to convert it back to vector.
Which brings me to the point, that I so hope you’re being reached out to by Webflow to help advance the platform and integrate fixes and wishes. In my opinion you know Webflow better than they do probably. Keep up the great work and attitude!

Great tutorial! You mentioned not being able to export gradients from AI for accessibility, wondering what the process would be to incorporate gradients into a lottie file?

Thank you! There's been a lot of issues with importing Illustrator gradients into After Effects. Usually you don't see any problems until you upload the Lottie to Webflow. To get around this, we've imported solid color vectors into After Effects and added the gradients in After Effects itself. It can get tedious if you have a lot of shapes, but it works a lot better in Webflow.

In After effect, after importing the Ai file just select the layer and go to layer > trace

Absolutely amazing tutorial, thanks for making this!
Just curious, is there a way to do this outside of After Effects (say, in Blender)? I try my best to avoid that CC subscription at all costs.

Do you know which lottie alternative is compatible withCC Effects?

FYI...If your Lottie contains vectors you don't need to worry about scale. Nothing will pixelate at any size.

Yeah, I agree! It’s only in after effects that it looks pixelated and is hard to work with at smaller sizes. But on export, it’s clear

Lol, what was the point of creating a shape in illustrator, and then coming back to after effects and redrawing the whole process. By just duplicating the same AI file, increase the scale, apply the trim paths and simply use it as matte.

Can I hire you on a project basis?

Thanks so much for asking! I’m not currently taking on new projects but will definitely announce it if anything changes.
