little tip: (before pre-composing the "Yannick Medium Shot"-s) 5:48 you can add a turbulent displacement and some bulge effects on the body to make the disintegration less linear and also a bit 3d following your body

Thanks so much for demonstrating the technique without using Trapcode. Many viewers have limited budgets and it is already very expensive for Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. this was an amazing tutorial, thank you very much. I'm gonna use the first part for an animation i'm doing right now and was using particles to start a viscous disintegration, but by the time i had to actually make all the character disappear i couldn't find a satisfactory way to do with particle world and masks. i was fighting hardly against get the trapcode fora matter of honor, but i hadn't see a good soluction to the effect without plugins UNTIL NOW. thank you very much for this video,
This could be used to make sandman falling apart effect too I think.
Just use the gravity to make it come down, and smaller particles with sand texture, I think it would work.

This one was the most difficult effect I have ever seen on your channel.
First of all, I thought that you guys will also do something similar to other creators by doing some drama and then someone snapping someone into dust. But I loved how you started the video using the comments. That is creativity right there.

Great video, I am new with adobe programs and filming but I wanted to try this, and even though I didn't use a green screen I still pulled it off with your tutorial. I did make a small change which made the effect look (I think) even better, I made the shatter faster so the skin died as it shattered instead of while it was shattering

I think what they did is 3D track the scene, and attach several comment assets to the track.

That was a great and easy to follow tutorial, but I couldn't get the "grain effect" to work in place of the glass. My top layer/duplicated pre comp's actor flies away in the path of the particle's exit (I set it to 45 degrees, you set yours to 0), revealing the original pre comp's original actor and its glass effect. Otherwise, the shatter w/ glass and smoke effect worked for the most part, but I'm not going to use (or rather, I can't figure out) the add grain effect. I think my issue is with layering or maybe something with my effects and mask, but I followed it to the depiction of this video, so I'm confused, but I'm still satisfied
