Mein erstes Motorrad, für mich immer noch eine der schönsten Hard Enduros. TÜV für das Ding zu bekommen war fast unmöglich. Schön mal wieder Eine zu sehen. 👍🙋♂️
I want one of those engines for my honda 3 wheeler. A 500 x honda shouldve built one. Iam building a atc500r with 83 cr480 engine in first gen 250r frame right now.
Great find. I just recently picked up an '82 xr500r in gray condition (minus the headlight and taillight). The rear shock is completely toast. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement, well I've found one locally for an '81 and for an '84. Do you know if either of these would work on mine? I read somewhere that these rear shocks are pretty year specific. Thanks
Wanted to know if you had any luck locating parts for the bike. I'm building a one off and been wanting this engine for it. ( A friend has one in his bike and love the power delivery. ) So any help is appreciated.
@@Fieldyfan94 nope but there is nothing special about it. Just do NOT alter the float height and set the air screw at 2 1/4 back from finger tight. That's all.
No sir, this one is street legal. Registered individually by its first owner. I also own the first ever XR500R imported in France, in May 1981. I also got it registered for street use, legally, after much work. ;)

I rebuild three of them years ago....there was no better play bike to bash around in the desert in Namibia😉
Beautiful bike. I have an 83 500r myself. Still kicks like a mule to this day.
I use to love riding mine

There is no replacement available. You need to rebuild the shock. Very easy. Parts are available from Racetech.
@@Ericf318318 Really? Is it just for the '82? I was really hoping the replacement for am '81 or the '84 would fit. That sucks
@@joefletcher5617 81 82 are the same. Nothing else fits. The rebuilding is VERY easy.
I'll take a look at the website for the rebuilt kit. Thanks again

Sure, join the Facebook group called XR500 Nation, it is all there.
Well maybe where you are at it is.
Where did you buy the tank at?
It is a Clarke tank. It was on the bike when I bought it. Just gas tanks . Com sells them.
@@Ericf318318 ok thanks do you have a video on how to clean and set up a xr500r carb?

XR500R is not street legal. That would be the XL500R.
