i wonder if a later cr swingarm would fit with the disc brakes?i did a a disc conversion on my xl600r using a xr650 swingy with the disc,works awesome

Hello, which coil is for charging battery? Mine is giving only about 6 volts AC on running engine at 2500 RPM when I check Pink and yellow wires . I think its too low. Do You think it can be rewinded or needs to be get another?

What type of mikuni carb are you running? Flatslide with accelerator pump?

I would check for air leaks on the intake side of the engine

This popped on my homepage so I would like to offer some help if I can. Could you figure out what was wrong with the engine yet? What year/model is this car/engine? Perhaps I could do some research for you. When the idle behaves this way in modern cars, , it's typically the bad maf sensor / idle air control valve what's causing the issue. But I'm not exactly sure what's the cause with this one as I don't have info on the engine

I have a couple of questions regarding your coil explanation as I am sitting with lighting problems on my 1981 Honda XL500S. 1. By ignition coil do you mean the output for the spark plug coil? 2.When you say lighting coil do you mean the AC output for the headlight? 3.What is the purpose of the single large coil?

Eric I noted your comment re potentially fitting xr500r forks to the xr200r. I’m considering the same thing!! Have you investigated this much further ?

My first was an ‘82 XR 200 with the twin shocks but the engines were the same as the R . Great memories on that little four stroker !
