Yuanniang gave her an option to marry someone else after everything is settled while she lives outside the city for a few months. She didn't have to be a concubine but she chose that option. That's entirely on her. She blames everyone for every single thing she did except herself. Truly narcissistic and delusional. Honestly the actress is so good at acting as an insane woman, loved her as Concubine Mei
Edit: I'm happy with her end though. She has finally accepted all the blame and found peace by atoning herself, becoming a nun. The fact that lingyi never loved her really slapped her in the face and woke her up for good
This girl takes being delusional to a whole new level. She's actually blaming her victim for her own death. In her mind because she wasn't a good person it's alright that she killed her. It amazes me that she really believes that all her actions were justified because she loves him. She convinced herself that he loved her when he repeatedly showed her with his actions that he didn't have any feelings for her. He even told her the only thing he could offer her is a comfortable life. She was so heartless. The most devastating part for her is finally realizing that he NEVER loved her. It was a crushing defeat and I loved every minute of it.
Do you think it would have been more devastating if Lianfang had found out that Shiyi was never actually trying to win his favor? Misguided as Lianfang was, she genuinely thought that Shiyi competing with her. Imagine what her reaction would have been if she found out that Shiyi had initially made efforts to kick Lingyi out of her bedroom while Lianfang was doing everything she could to make him stay in her room.

Shiyi is the only one who deserves to be his wife, the only one he has ever loved. This is why forced wives and concubines dont work. It cruel and unnecessary and often not the choice of the man or the women involved.
So true...fortunately Lingyi abolished the whole concubines idea.
I swear she can distort the truth. Yeah Yuanniang framed her but she doesn't seem to process that Yuanniang was already dying when she set her up. She new she was up to no good. Too bad it wasn't brought up to Great Madam that Lianfang purposely used Princess Danyang unborn child to hurt Shiyi. As you can see I still blame Great Madam.
It was her fault because she forced Lingyi to marry her even though he refused. She gave her the highest position in the harem before he even married Shiyi. She constantly covered for Lianfang when her crimes were exposed. The great Madam did more damage to her family than the Ou family could ever do.
It's the Great Madam fault for being so biased that she contributed to this concubine madness

Till the end she doesn't realize her mistakes and thinks she has done something great for her love. She thinks of herself the most pitiful person in the world. What I couldn't understand is how does she think killing his wife and unborn child will make him love her and when she say this, how come she can keep her face look like pity or innocent.😡

Amen... the problem is the great Madam/her maids enabled her delusions. They kept telling her that Shiyi stole her position so she continued to blame Shiyi for keeping them apart. He told her the only thing he could offer her is a comfortable life. He even rejected her advances but she kept on going. I'm glad she finally got what she deserved because she was toxic.

So true. She literally killed an innocent child/its mother for a man that never cared for her once. She even tried to justify her actions by saying his late wife wasn't a good person anyways. What kind of crap is that? His late wife schemed to keep her from becoming the legal wife because she was worried about her son. She was smart to eliminate a potential threat to her son. She was absolutely right because Lianfang targeted Zhun/nearly killed him. If Shiyi hadn't found the source of his illness then he would've died. Lianfang had no problem harming an innocent child because she thought that she could use the situation to make Lingyi fall in love with her. He was on to her from the very beginning especially after his son got sick. He was different from his mother. She was blinded by status. Lingyi was focused on character which is why he ended up falling head over heels in love with Shiyi.
Kudos to the actress playing Liangfang because I freaking HATE her (character lol) - it’s going to be some while before I can watch her in another drama, especially one where she’s a good character as I won’t believe it for a second 😂

Thank you. She acts as though she was forced into this situation. She was given a choice/she chose to be a concubine because she didn't want to let him go. She thought that she could win his heart after becoming his concubine. He was upfront with her from the start that's why I don't feel sorry for her. She was delusional from the start. She killed an innocent baby/its mother for a man that never had any feelings for her. She even tried to justify her actions which means she hasn't learned anything at all.

Well she brought it on herself. If she would've accepted the fact that he didn't want her as his concubine then she wouldn't have wasted her life. He told her to marry someone else but she chose to be his concubine instead. After they were married he told her that he can provide her with a comfortable life but that's all. I think the realization that he NEVER once had feelings for her devastated her more than anything else. It was as if he ripped out her heart. She wasted all that time scheming and hurting innocent people only to be banished from the Xu family. He did to her what she was trying to do to Shiyi...lol It was bittersweet

There isn't anything wrong with sympathizing with both Qiao Lianfang and Mei Pin to a degree; but I do hope you remember that they were both horrible to people who didn't deserve it.

I blame the mother for raising her. Remember, these aren’t grown women. The noble ladies are about 15/16 years old teens who have lived very sheltered and selfish lives. They are underdeveloped. They should have never given Lianfang a choice whether to marry the Marquis. The adults should have immediately removed her from the household and marry someone else as a primary wife; she didn’t know what it meant to be a concubine since she grew up as a legitimate daughter.
Lianfeng you cheated yourself only you. Marquis Y rejected you to be his wife he told you to look for someone who loves you and Marquis Y respect for being the legal child but you insisted even concubine of Marquis Y you’ll accept it. Love cannot be forced. Love is mutual appreciation, trust, respect and compromise.
At first I felt sorry for this woman but as the show went on we find out that not only did she want Shiyi out of the way but was the cause of Yuanniang's death. Even the attempt at killing a child that is one very emotionally disturbed woman. Limerence is an emotional and obsessive attachment towards this man aided and abetted first by her mother and then the Lords mother. It is characterized by intrusive preoccupation and a strong desire for reciprocation of one's feelings. These kinds of people are dangerous as we have seen right the way through this show. Her gentle and seemingly innocent persona is false and it takes work to keep that persona going especially if they have the dark side fighting to be let out and once out nothing absolutely nothing will deter them from their target. Through out the entire show she never once blamed the male if indeed he needed to be blamed which he didn't he was quite clear about his feelings and in his prior behaviour towards her. Not once had he ever entertained the notion. You couldn't get a more clear message if the man you married won't even spend your wedding night together, never once consummated the marriage. Then the only conclusion is he does not like you. To blame Shiyi was awful because she to was brought into this and never had a say in it. Out of the two of them one was filled with bitterness and hate the other was a gentle woman she was well liked intelligent and knew who she was. Even through all the trials amd attacks on her she rose above it and his Lordship who did not want to be married slowly fell in love and she in return healed his family and give him the love and home and family he had always wanted. This concubine would have still continued on in her evil ways because that is her persona the real one and you can only control your bad side for so long
