Great video! I have only travelled with her once and that was on her Maiden Voyage in 2017. You should really try one of the other ferries that goes between Finland and Sweden/Estonia. There are ships that are even more like cruiseships than Megastar, such as the Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony. They have a big open promenade in the middle of the ship with bars, restaurants and shops. :)
@Markmeister1989 Thank you. As much as I like the idea of a quick flight between Helsinki & Stockholm, going by ship is definitely something I will consider now.
@@ausflyer And in many cases it can be cheaper. Tho, if you travel by night between Sweden and Finland a cabin is basically mandatory since there are no airseat lounges onboard.
Is that really a duty free store or a marketing gimmick ? I thought one needs to stop at Aland islands or had to leave EU to take advantage of duty free stores.
Given the amount of people on the ferry shopping, and a lot of them Finnish, the prices are obviously heavily discounted, whether it is Duty or Tax Free. I tried to include some of the prices in the footage, plus the bottle of Kyrö Dairy Cream Liqueur that I purchased was at least 30% cheaper than in Helsinki.
@@ausflyer I think those maybe Eesti prices. They are that much cheaper than in Finland. Before the EU, those ships linking both capitals were 24h fun party ships. Good times!
That makes sense, at the end of the day the prices are discounted, and it was surprising how many people were in the store buying stuff (mainly alcohol).@@travelvideos
@@ausflyer Alcohol is "Finnish duty free", but not Estonian duty free, as far as I know (if the ship has been registered under Estonian flag?) .. :) So the prices are lower than in Finland. Other products aren't necessarily particularly cheap. Can be even more expensive than ashore. The attraction of candies, for example, isn't necessarily the price, but huge/unusual selection and unusually large unit sizes. And just because any excuse is good enough for Finns to buy candy.
awesome video thank you!!!
Thank you
Welcome to Estonia, AusFlyer! 👏
Thank you 😁
Good job, mate 👍
Thank you
