    Speedy is frickin hilarious man....
"If you're going to put yourself out there, you better have a thick rind"
"I sold all those other barrels to the Prarie dog guys, they loved it"
"That's when you pulled out the rosary beads..."
In all seriousness, cool interrogation. I always learn from these, sometimes confirm what I learned myself, but this was especially enjoyable.

This is by far my favorite interview. The closeness and able to joke because of speedy is great.
You have so much info that I was wondering about. It was obvious that speedy twisted your arm to give up what you worked so hard to obtained.
Erik you gained so much respect from this video.
I wish the guy who is the wild catter gave up even 1/4 of what you did.
I watch Hornady and vortex and have gained a lot of info, buy by far this was the best.
    Thank You

What a joy to see so much of you two guys. I’ve known about Speedy from early 90s when a newfound buddy told me about a wildcat pistol he had, and I understood what he was saying. He gave me his collection of precision shooting magazines that was around two feet high, which I devoured cover to cover to gain the latest in development of benchrest. Life, commitments and jobs took over…..25+ years later and more time to research I stumbled upon EC and they are hammering 284s at a thousand yards! This video is like meeting old friends even though I have never shaken hands with either. Would be proud to if given the opportunity though. Wonderful episode from two world class shooters giving proven technical knowledge away freely. Class act here.

Congratulations Erik on a fine win at SWN!! I haven't watched all three hours yet hopefully this weekend. Speedy's a riot! Ya gotta keep him right up on the mic for us deaf guys!

    • @wilfdarr
      @wilfdarr ปีที่แล้ว

Ya, I have to use a volume booster app with Erik's podcast (most podcasts actually), especially when I'm listening while running next to the main road, or in the shower: listeners can always turn the volume down, but my phone only let's me go up so high. As long as you don't come in full blast, give the listener a couple seconds to adjust the volume, it's fine to favor the high side.

  • @ironair67

Sooo much valuable information, thanks guys. Mic audio was good, but louder is better than quieter. Your audience, made up of mostly old deaf guys, can always turn their sound down if it's too loud.
It must be very hard making dies without knowing what chamber and brass guys are using. Looking forward to more nuggets of knowledge from Speedy.

My load changed alot..It went from 2810 down to 2855. I turned the tuner brake to get my zero back .Thats proof it really works in more ways.Thank You ERIK Cortina

I have purchased a Savage 6.5 Mdl. 10 hvy barrel that I intend to put in a MDT Oryx chassis. I will buy a tuner as money allows. I am not set up to reload, so I will have to rely on a factory load. Sure do appreciate these shows.

Hello Eric, I know my new Model 70 .270 Feather-Weight is no match rifle. BUT IF it had a threaded muzzle, could a tuner potentially increase its accuracy? Or are your tuners only for super long match barrels that are threaded, “Not hunting 22” barreled rifles?”

Hey guyz congrats on all your achievements including this live broadcast!!! I was wondering how loose or tight should i have my neck diameter reamed? Im trying to figure out if a tighter neck diameter would straighten out my bullets which may be seater slightly crooked.. i shoot 223 and notice the spec for my chamber is 0.254”. If i go with a 0.251” what issues may I encounter? Reloading issues? Chambering issues? Would like your input? Please?? Most of my loaded brass measures 0.248 - 0.250”. So it should work right?

On the primer I found the same. I used a lee hand primer and wasn't getting them to the bottom and didnt know it.. Believe it or not I got the lee bench primer and I now have them seated all the way. If u can't see the 3 spots where the anvil makes contact with the bottom of the primer cup in the carbon after u de prime you are not getting the primer seated all the way.

I know this is a year old post, but let's talk 284. Say your load shoots good a 2800 fps 180 hybrids. close to pressure but not over pressure at 2000-3000 ft above sea level at 45 deg. F. The temp is going to go up during the day and by noon it's gonna be 80 deg. F. Even with temp stable powder your velocity is going to go up. Why not pre-load with a 1/2 grain in powder to off set the increase in temp as the morning warms up. Example: first string preloaded at 50.5 H4350, second string 50g H4350 and third string at 49.5g 4350. This would keep you in "tune" and consistent at 2800 fps as the day warms up... This is similar to what benchrest shooters do, they know humidity and temp changes that affect the powder they use. They adjust on the fly but it seems like you could do the same, just preload for it since we don't have time to reload between strings. As long as you can forecast the weather you can pre determine your loads.
