    I just picked this up to cut out some stuff for a Halloween display and had a hell of a time trying to figure out the blade situation because it wasn't latching but thanks to you, now I know why! Thank you so much for this video, sir. You saved a little shred of my sanity.

      Glad the video helped you, I think all new t shank jigsaws will have a similar locking system 0 thanks for subscribing!

    I love your introduction to this Bauer 6.5 amp jigsaw. You explained in beautifully and with incredible attention to all of it facets and detail. Thank You Admiral. A title Sir that you deserve.

    This was my first time attempting to use any kind of power saw. I watched a few beginner jigsaw videos where they were using other brands and the blade just popped right in and locked. Not with this guy. I was cursing myself for trying to save some money when I found your video. Finally got that blade in and made my first cut ever. Thank you for acknowledging that it’s not easy to do. I thought either the saw was defective or I was, haha.

    The backward pressure on the blade insertion was what I was missing - thank you!

      it is different, but in that difference, it makes the tool's hold on the blade is a huge improvement over the old style blades - thanks for subscribing!

    I have the cordless version and it's great. Super convenient. I have four Porter Cable cordless power tools and now that Porter Cable is doing away with its hand held power tools I have no more buying options or support. I went out on a limb and gave Bauer a try. I couldn't be happier with their tools. I highly recommend them and Harbor Freight.

      this uses the new t-shank blades, I think all devices that use those new style blades will work like that, its just a new way to mount the blade that is more secure, but it takes a little bit getting used to it - thanks for subscribing!

    I just pick up this jigsaw. Lolol, I'm retared!!! I put the blade and I thought I had bound up the blade against that gard because after I plugged it in, I pulled on the trigger and nothing! I heard the humming of the motor and that was it so, I unplugged it and now I'm here watching your video and just as you, I have speed dialed all the way down to "1". Now, I'm gonna put down this phone and turn up that dial, see what happens and then I'll come back to this post and write what did or didn't happen. OK, sure enough, I cranked it up 3 and it is now working... thanks for post thus video for idiots like me, lolol...

    Thank GOD that you were describing how tough it is to use the WARRIOR blade as opposed to the BAUER blades, I was afraid that I would have to make another trip to Harbor Freight!! I thank you for your insight, all the best 🙏

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would expect a blade type to have a universal fit, but apparently not, but once you get the hang of the new blade lock, its not bad, and you have to break a blade for it to come off, much better than the old design - this is one rugged saw, I really abuse it during remodels and it just keeps going and going, no problems - thanks for subscribing!

    In general if a tool is heavy I see that as a plus. With a jigsaw that would be especially helpful when using a reverse cut blade because those tend to make the jigsaw jump.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree on the heavy tool, in most cases, the bauer tools tend to be heavier than drill master or warrior, but that is good, that makes them better tools, but I like to point out things like that in my videos so views know what to expect, and they saw is more than most DIY'ers need, but well worth the money - thanks for subscribing!

    I have a corded Bauer random orbit sander that has outperformed a DeWalt and Craftsman version of the same sander at twice the price. This jigsaw looks good too.

    Thanks for the review. I bought one but I didn't want to waste a lot of time with the manual. You showed me quickly how to put the blade in. I was late on the cutting a circle option and I had already played with the button while the saw was on, but I only did that for a short bit and I wasn't cutting. This is my second, possibly my third jigsaw. I know one that I had, the one I remember well only has about a 5 inch cord. It was a super cheap plastic body Black and Decker jigsaw. So this saw is a beast compared to that piece of junk. The other saw had a set screw to hold the blade in place. The other saw was pretty much a toy, but then I had it when I was a teenager.

    I watched this today. I bought one a few weeks back but I did not want to read the instructions. Usually that is a waste of time since its usually in 12 languages and prescription size text. I have an old jigsaw, black and decker I think. I noticed it is a bit rough now and does not cut north and south but with a bit of an angle. I got this one and hoping for the best. Your instructions are great and putting the blade in was my biggest concern. I got a pack of blades that are for wood and metal and I noticed that one of the blades is for hardwood so I will try that first since that is what I have to cut. Thanks again and I subscribed! Cheers!

      thanks for the positive feedback and I'm glad you found the video useful - how to mount the blade is not covered very well in the manual - the manuals have 10 pages of what not to do, and 1 1/2 pages of how to use, and 2 very useful pages - exploded view diagram and parts list - thanks for subscribing!

    i bought the chicago electric jigsaw and it is very similar to this one. i have been having a hard time getting the blade to stay in, and it looks like your video may have solved that for me. i did not know about pushing the blade back while inserting the blade. i pulled it hard and it did not come out, so i assumed it was locked in. i go to make a cut and the blade would pop out. i will try pushing back when inserting the blade and i bet it corrects this issue. thank you for your video

  • @hotrodmonkee

    I have had one for about a year now, the only problem I have had is that the trigger lock would not disengage, so the saw ran constantly. I was able to pop the trigger lock out and I cut the little "leg" off of the lock. now it shuts off when I release the trigger( I did put the the button back in).

    How come when you put the blade in it doesn't lock and you can literally just pull it right on out? I don't think I'm going to use this till I figure out how to lock the blade in.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if the blade is not locking in, they you are not inserting it fully, you have to twist the lock open, insert the blade, and push it in and back to get it fully seated so the lock will close - use this description and watch the video where I insert the blade and you should be able to get the blade to lock, it is a relatively new locking design, but it works great once you get the unlock/push in/push back action down - thanks for subscribing!

    This looks a lot like the Avid Power I just got from Amazon but man, I cannot get that blade to set. Any ideas?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you would be surprised how much force it takes to seat the blade and the retainer clip down over it - I think that might be your problem, when I first got mine, I thought it was broke, but eventually realized, its just has a very strong string - there is always the possibility its actually broke, so don't discount that possibility - thanks for subscribing!

    Just noticed its not a grounded plug?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      it is very common for hand power tools to not have grounded plugs, they are 'double-insulated' which is supposed to compensate for not having a grounded plug - this actually means the internal workings are isolated from the user by non-conductive covers - not recommended to add a grounded plug to a double insulated tool unless you want to review and redo the overall design of the tool - thanks for subscribing!

    This blade install actually sucks. I've done everything but the blade seems as if it's too thick to slide in. Bauer brand blades as well.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      did you follow the video? they are spring loaded, you have turn the lock to unlock the lock, push up and back on the blade until it seats and allows the lock to close, the lock is a twist lock, turn it 90 degrees to unlock and just release to allow it to lock, but the lock will only close if the blade is fully inserted - this is a much improved blade mounting system, once you get the hand of it, you'll be fine, the push back on the blade is the step most people forget and it keep s the blade from being fully seated enough for the lock to engage - thanks for subscribing!

    You are funny. “Bauer has come out with their own line of…” There is no Bauer. It’s all Harbor Freight. They just name certain product groups different marketing names.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you are funny for stating the obvious - 99% of what HF sells is made for HF (or other distributors like Skill and wren, and dozens of others) - they use the different lines as quality levels, bauer is their mid range line, most of the tools from the previous main lines are being rebranded to Bauer, most chicago electric are going to bauer, although a lot of the chicago electric professional line is going to hercules, as chicago electric was their mid and high end lines (mid and high end for HF, no relation to the rest of the industry) - over the last few years HF has invested in many factories in china, so they are moving toward sole sourcing, this was happening at the same time they starting moving toward 80% of the tools being cordless - thanks for subscribing!
