@@RobMotive literally two night ago someone tried to steal my truck straps that I keep in my box. I had this happen before. But yesterday i noticed that part of the storage door had a bent in it and it appears they tried hard to take the boxes. I've heard that people think their is a hitch and really want to try their lock to get into them
Personally I don’t think I’d put anything in there that would need to be locked. I have a feeling if I really wanted what’s in there I could in pretty fast with a hammer
Do they makes those with matching keys? I'd hate to carry around a set of keys. Bad enough I already got the gas cap keyed up. Hmm... if the gas and compartments had the same key... THAT'D BE RAD!
Isn't this compartment basically just a ratchet strap holder? What are people putting in this that would warrant the hassle of having to unlock two locks every time? I'm no expert but I've literally only seen people use this compartment for straps and bungie cords.
The locking door is great and all but, i am trying to find a way to make the compartment box larger, as there is allot of unutilized space behind there. Any ideas?
I found today that if you snip and file off that small tab piece on the back of the hole prior to using the spade bit, it makes enlarging the hole even easier. And yes, the lock covers work fine if snapped in place before final tightening of the backside nut.
Great idea however don't you feel it should be reinforced and swapped out with steel or something? Honestly I feel that thing could be pried open easily with just a cheap screwdriver, especially without adding or reinforcing the bottom "hinge" which is essentially just a small plastic tab

Great video, thanks Rob. I went to Depot and grabbed a set of cabinet locks for 10.00. Only need 1 lock per door to get the job done.

Put a little weather stripping on it to help make it water resistant and also help stop any rattling.

It’s really just a deterrent. If someone really wanted to pop it, it’s all plastic anyway.
