Can I use wet mounting technique to mount on silk? If not, how did ancient people mount their painting on silk with out those silicone heat active layers? Thank you!

Yes, we still use wet mounting for professional quality work.

It will be flattened when you iron it.

+steamriceroll You may get the mounting strip and paper from our online store. We do ship to Canada. www.blueheronarts.com/mounting-supplies-c-10.html I bought the white board from an art supply store in LA where they sell screen printing supplies.

thank you for a very informative video, I like to know if it's necessary to have the support strip before I apply the silk margin? can we just apply the silk margin without the support strip? please advise.
    thanks.

It is necessary to five a framed looking (there are light colored strips too if you don't like the brown color). but you can try doing it without it if your painting and silk already are already distinctive. Another function of the strip is that to secure the connection while keeping the silk and painting on the same level.
