This is phenomenal information. For someone from the US who goes over his itinerary over and over again to make sure things go as well as possible, your info is always much appreciated.
Thank you so much Elyssa, I watched your videos about the tours of the Colosseum and the Vatican and we were able to vist everything, including the Sistine Chapel, all thanks to your videos!! We loved having a guide actually and it made us a fan of guided tours. You are amazing, thank youu
Thank you so much! I am so glad you found my videos helpful and that my info made your trip to Rome more fun and interesting! I am also a fan of guided tours and I'm happy you enjoyed yours. Thanks again for taking the time to let me know you find my content useful!
Great views and special attention to detail s. Thank you. We are coming to Milan on Christmas. So excited …..first time to visit this beautiful Country. Now trying to view videos and decide what other cities & sights.😎❤️
Just want to say thank you. I was in rome Sunday night and looking for tickets to go colosseum, palatine and Forum for Monday. All was sold I then saw your video And click the link thank god it only had 9 and 9 30 am tickets avaible for Monday the other times during the day was sold out. My experience was amazing. Great weather it had. The staff was lovely. I got priority entrance it was worth the money. Easy flow. I just had to show my ticket on my phone and they scan it. Thank you thank you for you information... Three of us love the experience.
Thank you very much! I searched for a normal video where people can explain understandably how to get those tickets and I couldn't find one, and now I found your video and it helped me a lot!
Hallelujah! Thank you for mentioning the Super Forum pass! I want to visit the Forum and Palatine Hill, but not the Colosseum, but I couldn’t seem to find a ticket online that didn’t include a visit of the Colosseum as well! Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and for your comments! Glad you found what you were looking for. The SUPER pass is amazing. Here's a dedicated video about it: th-cam.com/video/zfHjFPua7W0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks so much! The layers of needed details you provide in these videos make a real difference when booking for these sites! You have become a reliable source of information for our upcoming Rome trip!
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm so glad you find my content helpful and grateful to you for taking the time to let me know. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
THS SITE IS AN ALL ROUNDER!!! Well done. We have visted Rome for three days a couple of years ago, amd stuck to the programme the website romewise supplies. We are coming back to visit on the 12th. April 2023 to visit Castelli Romani and Rome itself and I strictly follow the good lady's advice.
Hi Elyssa! I’ll be visiting Rome for the first time at the end of March with my lady and wanted to give you kudos on a very informative and thorough video. Plan on watching more of your Rome videos to help me prep 😂. Keep up the amazing work! 👊🏾👊🏾
I refreshed and refreshed the website for 8 hrs straight until I was a able to grab 2 tickets for the officially English underground tour. I think it was just luck. I saw multiple tickets pop up for the underground tour but I wasn’t fast enough to add them to my cart. It was so worth it. Unforgettable experience.
Please, could you tell me how you purchased the tickets in the official site? Did you try 30 days ahead of the desired date, updating each hour? I read the tickets tend to come out at different times of the day, usually in conjunction with the time of entry: so, tickets for 11am entrance come out at 11am Rome time. Is that the best way? I'm intending to visit the underground in 16/10 or 17/10. Do the tickets pop up at full time, like 09:00, 10:00, 11:00 or it can be at any moment? Thank you very much!!
Things have really changed since I was there in 2016. You could walk up and join a tour and get right in the Colosseum and go where you want. We walked the ruins for free.
OMG, I love your videos! I've been dreaming of visiting Rome since I've been a little kid and finally have a trip for May! I'm finding tour advice to be very useful! Thank you so much!
Another great informative video as always Alyssa, we will be trying to book the night time tour when we return next year. I really appreciate the effort you make in bringing these great videos of Rome to us they have been such a great help for when we visit. Grazie
Great content, congratulations on the didactic and direct information. Thanks for that! I didn't understand how I couldn't find tickets on the official website looking every day, it looks like I'm going to need to make my Bot too to get my tickets. If I succeed in any effective strategy to get the tickets, I'll come back and share it here. Whether understanding how the site works or automating it in some way.
Thank you so so much! I'm glad you enjoy my content. I think after living here more than 20 years, plus having a Roman husband, I'm as close to being a "local" as I can get :)
I just wanted to say, thank you! This video helped us to understand the ticket policy. We got tickets from the official web page but it was really hard and required several attempts. It is a matter of seconds.
And in addition, I would like to ask, how long does the security check usually take? (we are going in the middle of May, arena visit included) As a tourist, it is difficult to estimate how early you should be there before the booked time.
Thanks for letting me know my video helped you get the ticket you want! As for security, it can take up to half an hour to wait in line and go through the metal detectors and security belt (airport style), but usually should take less than that. I would arrive at least half an hour before your appointment time and give yourself that cushion. If you arrive inside a little early, you can use the restroom if you need to, and also walk around a little bit before you meet your guide.
Thank you very much!!
@@luisaleit Yes one month ahead and I think there are new tickets every 15 minutes. You have to be very fast! It took me for couple of hours to get the tickets. So yes, it is just like you said. :)
Hello Elyssa! I love your videos and have watched them multiple times to learn all the information before my visit 😅 I was looking to get tickets to the night guided tours but I could not see that as an option in the official site. Do you know if the Colosseum stopped offering these night tours? Thank you!!
I found a link on Google for the official website (I think) but it does not work no matter what I do, so not sure if it is that this is not available anymore
Thanks so much! You are right, they are not currently offering the night tour of the Colosseum. These usually come back sometime in early spring but we don't have any specific date yet. I'll be sharing this information across my various platforms when there is news.
I love the information you provide. If I book a non-guided ticket for full experience or a standard ticket, are there headsets to give explanation or the history of what I'm seeing?
Thank you! You can use the Colosseum's own free app as an audio guide. Then just use your own headphones with your phone or smart device! You may find this most recent video helpful: th-cam.com/video/FQNZeNbm2Vg/w-d-xo.html
I was just there in June. You can buy tickets on site. Get there early. I got there at 8am and got my tickets by 9:30am. Line grew fast as soon as I got there.
Co op probably works in partnership with agencies. On the day when the next day is made available, booking is impossible for the opening moment, and the day is blocked for about 10-15 minutes. After the time when the key hours for the agency are booked, the website is unblocked for outsiders. Then most of the tickets are already booked and you have to wait for the agencies to release the tickets in a situation where they do not sell their tickets more expensive or customers change their minds. Then tickets for individual hours become free during the day, but also quickly disappear due to the reservations of ordinary people.
Yes, it's true, it's a bit of a mess. That's why I made this video, to try to explain why it's so difficult. The reality is that no matter who manages the tickets, CoopCulture or some other company, there is the issue of supply and demand. With more and more people visiting Rome all the time, there is just a lot of demand, and for some things like the underground, there is a matter of limited space. I realize it is frustrating! Some day we may get a new company managing tickets but it's not clear if it will get any easier to get tickets directly, especially in high season.
I agree, today I waited until 7 am in Italy (I live in Argentina, so it was 2 am for me) and the tickets for May 18th were not still available. When I woke up at 12:30 ET (in Argentina it was 7:30 am), magically "posti esauriti". In 5 hours all tickets were gone. Really?
I suspect you may be right. I'm seeing ticket schedules become unavailable before the time they should be available in the site. For example: It's 9:30am, and I see there is a ticket option at 10:30am. However, at around 9:45 that ticket option disappears from the availability schedule table. So, the conclusion is that tickets seem to be "being sold" before the time they should come out online, which in this case should be 10:30am. It may be that there is an explanation for this, but so far my experience is aligned with yours. In other words, it seems the public gets access to the "ticket scraps" that were not taken or snatched by bots or private providers. At least that's also my perception.
I know it's pretty intense - I am hoping my video helps clear up a bit of the mystery but the bottom line is that visiting the Colosseum can just be stressful. Hope you have a great trip without too much stress! :)
Thank you so much for this video! I am planning to visit the Colosseum the first week of January 2023 and I do not see the ability yet. But I'm worry because I'm seeing that the last week of December is all sold out?!? Idk...I hope they have spot in January!!
Hi Alyssa, Thank you so much for this. Last June I tried through their website to book a Coop Culture Coliseum Night Tour. As you say, I found no tickets available for the coming days. I ended up purchasing our guided night tour tickets through another vendor but I was disappointed because I had really preferred a Coop Culture tour guide. However, when we arrived for the tour we were delighted to find a Coop Culture guide was provided for our group. Not sure this is how it always works? Anyway, our guide was superb! It all worked out in the best way.
I'm glad you were able to buy tickets for the night tour and glad you had a guide you enjoyed! When you book a night visit to the Colosseum, a Colosseum employee must accompany you on the tour (CoopCulture does not have guides. They are only a ticketing agency.) So if you book this directly through CoopCulture, your only guide will be the Colosseum employee. If you book this through a tour agency, a licensed guide from that company will come with you because they give you a more complete tour, often talking about the areas near and outside the monument itself. however, even on that tour, once you enter the Colosseum for the night visit, you will have to still be guided by the Colosseum employee.
Private guides arent allowed. Only coop guides lead tours. Resellers are discouraged by the official coop process as it is scalping that limits public access at fair prices.
Hello, Can you advise which third party company you used? Im trying to get tickets for this coming July but it seems pretty impossible to get them on the official site. Which 3rd party company you recommend?
The Roma Pass is a great idea but at the end of the day, it's never really been about saving money, but more about convenience. And in the case of the Colosseum, it's helpful only for standard tickets, but not for the special ones like for the underground. Sigh - yes it's gotten more complicated that is for sure! I hope you find my video helpful in clearing up some of the confusion!!
A few few years ago in the summer tourist season, we saw the Colosseum under very easy conditions by waiting till five or 6 PM, as I remember. If I remember correctly, it was like 95% less people than at noon.
Yes, I remember that, too. Things have changed. Rome is now more crowded than ever and it's not easy to find a time when things are less busy, even close to opening or closing hours.
Hi Elyssa, This was fabulous. Thank you so much. I so remember the days that every site was free to just walk up and buy a ticket. Also, you could walk to the Colosseum FROM the Forum once inside, and so it was not another ticket. There was a time when The Pantheon was a free site (because it is a church). But of course, I understand the need to charge to help the Government run. You are the best! Grazie mille ❤❤❤
Hi Terry and thanks as always for your kind support. I am so glad you enjoy my videos! Yes, many Romans tell me how the Roman Forum was actually free and you could just wander in and out. Now that Alessandro and I have bought our Parco Colosseo membership cards (50 Euros for 1 person, 80 for 2, good for one year unlimited access to the Colosseum, Forum, Palatine), we pop into the Roman Forum often, like when it used to be free. You might want to get this card since you come to Rome so much!
@@TerryEbertMendozza Thank you so much!! Please let me know how you like the card. We love it. It also gets you into all the SUPER sites! Enjoy! Wishing you a blessed holiday season, too!
Thank you very much for this video. 😊I m sure it helped me a lot to get tickets for Full Experience underground and arena + didactic tour. I was so excited when I saw that tickets were available. I wrote wrong email address, so I did not get tickets. 😂 Luckily, I had a screenshot of payment, sent Coopculture an e mail and got my tickets. 🤗 One question not related to Colosseum-do you have any suggestions on how early it is necessary to arrive at the Fiumicino airport before the flight?
That's great that you were able to get the tickets you wanted! And despite some issues with CoopCulture, they are great at fixing glitches like the one you experienced. In answer to your other question, you should arrive at FCO at least 2 hours prior to your flight if the flight is within Europe, and at least 3 hours before an international or overseas flight.
Very helpful video. Thanks for posting this. The video makes it sounds like standard tickets are easy to procure. However, I have not been able to find even a single ticket for the whole 30 days period that co-op culture has opened the tickets for. Am I missing something?
Thank you! Yes, when I made the video, it was a little easier to get standard tickets, even through resellers by paying a bit over the regular price. Resellers are no longer selling just tickets because there was a ruling against this so now they can only sell them bundled with something else like an audio guide, another site, or a tour. So getting standard tickets with nothing else is more difficult than ever, still due to supply and demand. The only way to do it is to show up and wait in long lines or to sit in front of your computer refreshing the screen until something pops up. I strongly recommend purchasing a tour, because it takes away the hassle, plus I really think taking a tour of these sites is a good idea since there is so much history to know.
Hello Alyssa, I found this video very useful. Thanks for the detailed information. I´m going to visit Rome in first week of April for the first time and I going to book full experience ticket. But I have two doubts about it....first one is.. is it having skip the line benefit and second doubt is that... is it going to be a guided tour?
Thank you for watching and for your comments. All Colosseum tickets are "skip the line" because it is no longer possible to purchase tickets on site. However, everyone has to go through security, and you cannot skip THAT line. As I mention in the video, yes, when you visit the Underground or Arena, you will at the very least be accompanied by a Colosseum staff member. But you can ALSO pay a bit more for the more complete guided tour.
All tickets are "skip the line", because there is no longer a line to PURCHASE tickets on site. However, there is no way to skip the line to go through security, and sometimes you will find you have a bit of a wait just to go through security.
Thank you very much for the helpful video. We purchased 2 Super tickets for Forum and Palantine Hill but couldn’t find how to reserve a time slot. Do we have guaranteed admission on the day we show up?
Glad you find it helpful! As I mentioned, the ticket for just the Forum/Palatine is good for 30 days from the date of purchase. There is nothing to reserve. You just show up at the entrance of the Palatine Hill or of the Roman Forum with your ticket. Once you go inside, you can stay all day but there is no re-entry, so I suggest going in the morning to make the most of it! I've also done a separate video just about this ticket and how to visit all the SUPER sites: th-cam.com/video/zfHjFPua7W0/w-d-xo.html Enjoy!
Hi! I just spent the weekend in Rome with some friends! I don't know if this IS useful but we struggled to buy tickets online and we actually did manage to buy tickets on site (and not from random scammer people). We bought them from the official Colosseum ticket counter
Yes as I mentioned in the comments, since I made this video, they brought back the on-site ticket booths so now you can purchase tickets for same day entry as long as there is availability - however you do have to stand in line which can be quite long. I'm glad you were able to get them!
Hi Eliyssa, Great set of informative vlogs, Thank you for the time you put in them.😉 I am(+1) visiting Rome in June(5 days) for the first time & i was wondering if there is one ticket/pass that will do all or most of the top sites Colosseum/Vatican etc or is it separate tickets for each one?. also what is the la mia appia card ? Thank you in advance, Great channel & website.😉👍
Thanks so much for watching. I'm glad you find my video helpful. There is not one card that covers everything, although the Turbo Pass or the Omni Card come close. You can read about these cards on my website here: www.romewise.com/rome-city-pass.html
Thank you for the information, I loved the video. I am going in late March. Is there any reason why the tickets throughout all of March are afternoon only please? or is this just the mornings selling the minute they are listed?
Thanks for letting me know you find my video helpful. Now is the time that March tickets are starting to become available, even if sporadically. So you just have to keep hitting refresh, checking daily. It's really maddening but if you keep at it, you will probably find the tickets you want. If you really can't get the tickets you want, you can always book with a reseller as they usually have a lot more options available. Have fun!
@@YGOWales That's great! Yes, it just take a bit of patience and if you keep trying, you can often find tickets. Not always, but sometimes! Glad you were able to get the tickets you wanted.
Thanks for all the great info!! If we book the Full Experience Underground Tickets with Coopculture, is there a actual tour and do we pick English instead of Italian? If there is an english tour, do you know what time the first English tour for the underground starts? If there is no english tour, what time is the first underground tour on coopculture? Thanks!!
When you book the Full experience that includes JUST the arena (and not the underground), there is no guide. You will get a sticker that allows you to go through a gate that takes you to the arena floor. When you book the Full experience that includes the underground, you MUST go with a guide that the Colosseum provides. Once you finish with either the arena or the underground (which also does include the arena) portion of your visit, you are free to visit the main areas of the Colosseum on your own for as long as you like. The English tours of the underground are in high demand, so I often hear of people booking the tour in Italian just so they can get in. All entry to the Colosseum is timed and there are regular entry times beginning at 8:30 AM (as of November 1.) You just have to see what is available when you open the CoopCulture booking page.
@@Romewise thanks!! Does the English guide for the underground talk about what you are seeing? Will there be no night underground tours at the end of February? Thanks for all the info!!
Visiting Rome at the end of March! Are the tickets pretty easy to get during that time? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge about Rome with all of us..I very much appreciate you & your videos!
First of all, as I mentioned, you cannot get them this far in advance for March. But you will be able to start looking for them, as mentioned below, about a month closer to your arrival date. Second of all, please note that end of march is not low season. And if this past year is any indication, it's hard to predict when things might be quiet, so I would count on crowds and plan accordingly. Thanks so much for your kind comments and for watching my videos!
Hello great video. New to your channel. I will be in rome for 2 nights, then will take a train to CIVITAVECCHIA to board cruise. Can you reccomend a clean, safe budget hotel that is walking distance from Collesum & close to train station? Beehive did not have any private rooms. Cheers
Thanks so much for following. I'm glad you find my videos helpful. Try this link to find what you're looking for: www.stay22.com/embed/64e8d93f5487ca003c0d3c55
Last Minute ticket is just that - a ticket available at the last minute. It's really no different than a regular ticket but you may find the price higher than a regular ticket because of the high demand.
Thanks for the great video. I just checked thru your link on buying tickets to the Colosseum (and Forum) for my upcoming Sept trip and see no future dates open? Do you know how soon tickets can be booked? Thanks!
Thanks for watching. As I explained in the video, they don't release tickets this far in advance, You should start looking about a month prior to your trip.
Thank you so much for the informations! Please, could you tell me the best way to purchase the tickets in the official site? I read the tickets tend to come out at different times of the day, usually in conjunction with the time of entry: so, tickets for 11am entrance come out at 11am Rome time. I'm intending to visit the underground in 16/10 or 17/10. Do the tickets pop up at full time, like 09:00, 10:00, 11:00 or it can be at any moment? Thank you very much!!
Thanks for watching! I really don't have any specific advice about what to time expect tickets to become available. Many of my readers tell me they sit and keep refreshing the screen and then tickets will appear, but it doesn't seem to be an exact science. I hope you will get them! Just keep being persistent. Good luck!
@@Romewise I'm so happy I did it!! I got 3 tickets Full Experience - didatic visit in Spanish, since I'm brazilian, it was a good option. The site only released those tickets after 4h45 from 9pm, so the first time for booking was 13:45 pm in Rome time. Thank you so much for your support!
Hi ! Thanks for the video, I had a question though, if we have to show up at the allocated time then how does the 48-hour duration work? Do we have to check in to a sight and then we get 48 hours to view it?
Thanks for watching. As I describe in the video, if you buy a Full Experience ticket, you get a TOTAL of 48 hrs to use it around the timing of your Colosseum visit. This means you can visit the Palatine Hill / Roman Forum the day prior to your colosseum appointment, the same day, or the day after your Colosseum appointment. Once inside the Colosseum you may stay as long as you like until closing but there is no re-entry. Once you are inside the Palatie hill / Roman Forum, you may stay as long as you like on that day but there is no re-entry.
Me and my family just went to The Undergound Tour in September and it was horribly hard to get three tickets with the same time, we kept checking the website the whole night and day (With this I mean refreshing the website every 5 seconds) and it was so frustrating to get there and see that the other 22 people (you get there in groups of 25) that were there were part of a tour that was guided by someone external to Coopculture.
Yes I know how frustrating it is...that's why I made this video. I hope to at least clear up why it's so hard to get these tickets and what you can try to do to make it easier. And as you can, in your case, a tour company had bought up most of the tickets in your time slot. There is just very limited supply and so much demand. I hope you enjoyed the tour regardless!
Im going next month for the 4 th time .I have never before needed a ticket for the forum so thats new! wasnt expecting that .. grr Have been inside the colosseum once that's enough I thik unless its at night but I think it would be soo earrie.I did notice it was very expensive and hard to book hotel wise too ..looks like everyone's going to Rome post cov
Yes, it's true - Rome has gotten more crowded and more expensive. It's also true that people are flocking to Italy since things have reopened up and it looks like this year, the tourism numbers will even surpass last year. It's also true that until several years ago, it was free to enter the Roman Forum, but now there is an entry fee. I hope despite all this, you will enjoy your next visit to Rome!
We were looking for regular tickets towards the end of August and have just got them with great difficulty. In view of what the weather has been we wanted morning tickets for a Wednesday. Logging on to the Coopculture web site every day we found aavaiable in the afternoon but nothing for mornings. Yesterday about 8am the day we wanted became available but immediately showed sold out
Continuing.. I went back about an hour later and tckets were availble but only late morning. Today I kept going back and back refreshing every 5 minutes and found that tickets were being released in small batches. Sometimes only a few were available, the max I saw was 20, for random times say between 9 and 10. After 9am only a few singles were available. I must add I am on UK time so Italy will be 1 hour later than these times and US East coast 5 hours earlier.
Yes I know it's pretty maddening! It does take a lot of patience and diligence to get the tickets you want, but if you can snag them on CoopCulture, your tickets will not be cancelled as they may be if you book a tour with a 3rd party, especially if you book for more than 30 days out. If you are looking for end of August, that is 30 or more days from now, depending on which dates you are checking, so I suggest you keep refreshing! Good luck and please let us know how you make out!
More great information! Thank you. Question, I hope you can help me with. We have purchased our Full Experience tickets though Coop Culture for our visit in a couple fo weeks. I received an email with a "PNR" number, but no tickets or vouchers. I can't find anywhere on the website what their process is for admittance. Do we take this PNR number to some ticket office to get our tickets? Or should I have received them already?
Your e-mail should contain an attachment with your tickets. It has a QR code on it. Can you check to see if your e-mail contains attachments? If not, check your spam folder. If you still can't find the attached tickets, you can take your email to the Colosseum on the day of your booking, and go to the ticket counter next to the Colosseum. They will sort it for you.
How many days out before your visit were you able to get tickets? I only have 2 days in Rome Sept 27 & 28 and don’t want to miss out! If I look at the calendar on the co op website all the dates are red😏
Thank you for the video!! Can you maybe help me with one question? I have been searching for hours with no clear answer :( I am trying to buy tickets for May in the new website I only see two full experience options - arena and attic - the latter is sold out but neither is including the underground... Do you know if that option has been discontinued? Thank you, your video is great!
Thanks for your kind words - glad you enjoyed the video! There is some confusion right now as CoopCulture will stop being the official vendor for the Colosseum (and the Domus Aurea) as of the end of April. From May 1, all Colosseum (and Domus Aurea) tickets can be purchased from the new official ticketing site, which is the official site of the Colosseum itself: ticketing.colosseo.it/ First of all, visitors to the site are experiencing heavy traffic and sometimes you will see a screen that tells you that you are in the queue to be online. Second of all, they have stated that for Underground tickets as well as other types of tickets (with guides, etc), they should have these online by today, April 8. You should check again today. I would expect there to be a few hiccups along the way as they work to get everything functioning properly, but the bottom line is, this is the new official site, and just keep checking back.
@Romewise Thanks a lot for sharing this video. Have 2 queries regarding it. Is the free ticket on 1st Sunday available to any national or limited to Italy nationals only? Secondly and more importantly, is the Full Experience ticket available on the 1st Sunday free of cost? Also one of my friends visited Rome last month and they could book the ticket to Colosseum from the site and did not prebook it.
Thank you for watching and for your comments. I'm glad you find it helpful. In answer to your questions: 1) The Free Sunday (in which state museums and sites across Italy, as well as city-run museums in some cities including Rome, are free on the first Sunday of the month) is open to everyone, no matter where they are from or their age. 2) On the Free Sunday there are NO special visits - no Full Experience, no night visits, no SUPER sites. You can only access the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill during normal hours and in their regularly visited spaced. Yes, since I made this video last year, they did bring back the on-site ticket booth so now you can stand in line and buy a same-day ticket although I still don't recommend this as the lines can be really long.
Hi, Thanks for the good video and info. I can not see any underground experience tkts. for April 22 to 24. Are they sold out or not opened yet? If those are sold out could you suggest which are the other genuine ticket vendor to get these?
Thanks for watching. As I explained in the video, these are the most popular tickets and demand is really high while supply is very low. So you have to be persistent and keep checking, or try the resellers I have linked to in the description. Good luck and have a great visit!
Hi this is an informative video i really appreciate it! For the didactic tour for the full experience on coopculture, is the 1h15min for touring the entire Colosseum incl underground and arena, or just the underground and arena?
Thanks a lot for watching! I'm glad you find the video helpful. The didactic tour includes the underground and arena, and you will get most of the explanations about the whole monument during this visit. The guide will then accompany you to the main level of the Colosseum, and you will be able to continue exploring for as long as you like. In other words, you are not required to leave the Colosseum once your tour is finished. Have a great visit!
@@Romewise I see! Was worried that 1h15min in the Colosseum might be too rushed, glad we can continue to explore after the tour ends. Thank you so much for the prompt reply :)
@@Romewise i just booked the tickets!! But for memory sake, I was wondering is it possible to get a physical ticket instead? Perhaps we are allowed to exchange at the ticket office?
@@whoareyouwhoarewe I don't believe you will be able to get a physical ticket any more. They are now doing everything online. They basically don't have a ticket office, either, but where the ticket office used to be is now just an information booth. You could ask them there. Have a great time!
Thanks for your great videos! Question for you, I'm visiting in September, what's the best way to book tickets for the Villa Borghese gallery? The website does not come up in the US.
Thanks so much for watching my videos. I'm glad you find them helpful! You should be able to book on the Galleria Borghese website if you are visiting the official site. Here it is: galleriaborghese.beniculturali.it/ You can choose to see the page in English. You can also book from there. If you are still having trouble, you can book through a ticket reseller, where you will pay a small fee: www.tiqets.com/en/borghese-gallery-tickets-l144780/?partner=romewise&tq_campaign=yt However, I just noted you are visiting in September. Tickets are not available this far in advance, so you should keep checking back. Hope that helps!
Yes it's gotten even more difficult in just the few months since I made the video. You can just keep trying but you may wind up having to purchase from a reseller.

I refreshed and refreshed the
website for 8 hrs straight until I was a able to grab 2 tickets for the officially English underground tour. I think it was just luck. I saw multiple tickets pop up for the underground tour but I wasn’t fast enough to add them to my cart. It was so worth it. Unforgettable experience.
Yes, if you are patient, it can pay off! So glad you got the tickets you wanted.

Yes things have changed a lot since I moved here in 2001. And they have changed again since things reopened after the pandemic lockdowns.

@@Romewise Thank you so much!🌻 I wish you a lovely spring!

@ perfect! Thank you so much!!
I love the information you provide. If I book a non-guided ticket for full experience or a standard ticket, are there headsets to give explanation or the history of what I'm seeing?
Thank you! You can use the Colosseum's own free app as an audio guide. Then just use your own headphones with your phone or smart device!

I was just there in June. You can buy tickets on site. Get there early. I got there at 8am and got my tickets by 9:30am. Line grew fast as soon as I got there.
Yes they did start allowing on-site ticket sales this May. I'm glad they have brought back this option and happy for you that you got tickets!
As a simple tourist going to Rome ,this is so intense just to visit some Roman ruins.. amazing
That's why I made this video! Please just keep checking for January. They will show up there soon! Have a great visit!
They are only a ticketing agency.)
So if you book this directly through CoopCulture, your only guide will be the Colosseum employee.
Last time used the Roma pass, looks like a waste of money these days, good info thanks. It never used to be so complex!
@@Romewise Many on trip advisor say they got the Roma pass then could not book anything. Thanks for your information
Very useful video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you amazing video!
Thanks so much!
@@Romewise Aahh, Grazie! Yes, I will buy this card. It seems so reasonable. Thank you so much! May you have a beautiful Thanksgiving and Holidays!

Your videos are really very informative madam. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much 🙂! I really appreciate your kind comments!
Hello, thanks for the great info. Can you tell me if any of these tickets have options to skip the lines?
All tickets are "skip the line", because there is no longer a line to PURCHASE tickets on site. However, there is no way to skip the line to go through security, and sometimes you will find you have a bit of a wait just to go through security.
Thank you very much.
I've also done a separate video just about this ticket and how to visit all the SUPER sites:
th-cam.com/video/zfHjFPua7W0/w-d-xo.html
Enjoy!
Thanks for the information. Do you know what happens with free tickets for kids? Do I book a time slot or just get to the entrance with them?
You have to book your tickets and then on the day of your visit, head to the ticket booth at the Colosseum and pick up your kids' free tickets.
Muito útil suas dicas, obrigada!

Have fun!
@@Romewise Thank you, I just managed to get underground passes! A few 9am entries left over showed up at 11am my time
@@YGOWales That's great!
All entry to the Colosseum is timed and there are regular entry times beginning at 8:30 AM (as of November 1.)
You just have to see what is available when you open the CoopCulture booking page.
@@Romewise thanks!! Does the English guide for the underground talk about what you are seeing? Will there be no night underground tours at the end of February? Thanks for all the info!!

Thanks!

I currently see all the various Colosseum Tours... for in the near future dates. But don't even see a listing for Colosseum Evening or Night Tour. - ?
Yes, as I mentioned in the video, the Colosseum night tours are not run all year. They should be starting them up again sometime soon this spring.
Was there in September was brutal and didn’t enjoy collesum at all . We got tickets through a site , the place was packed to rafters and far too hot

Great!! I'm glad to hear you got tickets! @@luisaleit
That’s very useful, thank you
And you’re so beautiful😍
Thank you so much!
I have been searching for hours with no clear answer :(
I am trying to buy tickets for May in the new website I only see two full experience options - arena and attic - the latter is sold out but neither is including the underground... Do you know if that option has been discontinued?
Thank you, your video is great!
Thanks for your kind words - glad you enjoyed the video!
There is some confusion right now as CoopCulture will stop being the official vendor for the Colosseum (and the Domus Aurea) as of the end of April. From May 1, all Colosseum (and Domus Aurea) tickets can be purchased from the new official ticketing site, which is the official site of the Colosseum itself:
ticketing.colosseo.it/
First of all, visitors to the site are experiencing heavy traffic and sometimes you will see a screen that tells you that you are in the queue to be online.
In answer to your questions:
1) The Free Sunday (in which state museums and sites across Italy, as well as city-run museums in some cities including Rome, are free on the first Sunday of the month) is open to everyone, no matter where they are from or their age.
@@Romewise Thank you so much for reverting back! Hope it helps a lot of folks visiting Rome.
you rock!!!
Thank you so much!
@@whoareyouwhoarewe My pleasure. Enjoy!
Here it is:
galleriaborghese.beniculturali.it/
You can choose to see the page in English. You can also book from there.
If you are still having trouble, you can book through a ticket reseller, where you will pay a small fee:
www.tiqets.com/en/borghese-gallery-tickets-l144780/?partner=romewise&tq_campaign=yt
However, I just noted you are visiting in September. Tickets are not available this far in advance, so you should keep checking back.
Hope that helps!
Tbh I watched the Coop Culture site since April and it was never green days in june. Neither today.
Yes it's gotten even more difficult in just the few months since I made the video. You can just keep trying but you may wind up having to purchase from a reseller.
