I love the speakers, the effect reminds me of being in some aquariums that play ambient music in the background. It meshes so well with the peaceful water and fish. Not something I knew existed and now I would love to add this to my tanks! Thanks for sharing.
Your light bar's sound system needs the JAWS theme. hehehe
It's pretty cool just kicking back relaxing watching your fish swim around you got a little bit of background music or sound that's calming. I like my current Loop and the effects it gives for the rainstorms, and thunderstorm, lighting effects. They make good products. Thanks for showing us haven't seen this model yet.

I love the Current Serene kit. It’s quite expensive, especially if you have 2 light bars, but it’s worth every penny. The background light bar creates an awesome effect! I don’t use the background film; I just left it off and pointed the light bar towards a printed background I hung on the wall in back of the tank. I love the auto on/off feature; it’s more than that though. When you program the lights on the circadian mode to turn on and off, turning on, the system simulates a sunrise. Turning off it simulates a sunset, then switches to moonlight mode, then switches off. I’m not too crazy about the sound setup; I included it with the tank so others can play with it. One thing cool is playing the thunderstorm soundtrack when viewing the thunderstorm lighting mode. I absolutely love the backlight. It’s a unique feature that I haven’t seen on any other system. One thing I wish is to program the system to randomly play the weather programs throughout the on time, not just full on daylight. Other than that I’m completely happy with this kit!
They make a bluetooth device for your current lights so you can control the lights with your phone. You can connect and control up to three wave makers as well.
John u need to put a couple of recliners in there, roll four joints, sit back, relax, smoke a couple and chillax 😌

Re your remotes. I'm going old school, my older Tv's you an point their remotes anywhere & sometimes from another room & they work. Our new tv remote has to be pointed directly at it & nothing in the way. I'm guessing same technology change.

Honest and thorough review John. I'm trying to gather more reviews about the Fluval 3.0 vs the Current lights. Still have my 25 fresh water tanks, but this January dove into salt water. After having kept fish for 57 years, I will never understand why I waited so long to keep salt. Anyways, thanks for the review. Liked, Subbed, and Member. Take care.
I have them on 2 60g and a 1 125g trust me brightest and best light i seen, all are fully planted tanks. The price is a little off putting but trust me you won't regret it at all.
I'm 45 years keeping fish an still would love to try a salt. Just haven't been brave.
What lids are you going to put on top and where are you getting them from? Glass? Plexi? Acrylic? Custom cut? Hinged? Please :)

I like my Current USA lights. Despite always handling the remote with care, some of the buttons predominantly used go dead within 24 month. Luckily, I have always been able to purchase replacement remotes on Amazon for a decent price. I still light the lights...
Bought them as soon as they became available after the aquatic experience and best purchase I have made just wish they had an app to control with phone
I use a small bluetooth speaker beside my small tank and i play ambient music, soothing music on Spotify. Pretty relaxing. It really ups the relaxation
Is there any way to maybe velcro and zip tie the controllers in top of the light bracket.? That might work.
I bought just the Current background lighting for my tanks. I really like it. Buying the entire system was cost prohibitive, but buying just the background lighting I could afford. I would love to have Kessel, but those are beyond my bank account. They are just too darned expensive!
I know this is two years later, but I just bought one of these for my 40 gallon breeder. I can’t figure out, for the life of me, how to get bright white lights out of this. All I can figure out is how to get dim colored lights. There are like 20 buttons on the remote. Do you remember or know how to get it to a normal bright white light? Thanks!

I’m looking at this system right now for a 6’ tank. Maybe one system could be enough? Price point, and the up lighting looks interesting, and sound might be cool.
I have a two foot led light bar across half my 55, giving the fish the option to hide in the dark side while giving enough light to my plants.
I use current USA marine loop, for my salt tank. I enjoy them it's very easy to configure.
My question is where did you get a tank like that. I have never been able to find anything bigger than 180.

After your review I got two of the adjustable arm barket. Unfortunately the blastic base cracked just by tighting it and and the lights look unbalanced.
Actually like the dark corners for the sake of the fish. After all it is their habitat. I keep mine dark on purpose to give my guys the option to get away from the light.
But its an issue if you have tall plants or a heavily planted tank where you need light everywhere.
Can you run those lights off of your tank controller?My infrared TV remote I can bounce it off the wall as well, and perhaps if you placed the controller on the back of the tank at the top you could do the same it still uses line of sight but the signal bounces off the walls much like a mirror.
I also use these Current ltd. I think they are wonderfull

I am in my 1st year of fish keeping. I have gone the expensive route for my 75 gallon. I am a huge fan of Fluval and have the Fluval 406 and 48-60" 3.0 full spectrum plant light bar that runs on an app for my phone. I would like to jump up to a 150-gallon aquarium. What lighting would you recommend? Does Fluval make a larger 3.0 light bar?
will the brackets work on a acrylic aquarium?
The lights look great! Instead of having both 6 foot lights in the middle, why don't you slide one to the left and one to the right? Then you have your overlap in the middle. You said you had to order another set of brackets, should be good to go! Keep up the awesome work!
What settings you would set the LED red, white, green and blue for a 120g planted (low light plants) Discus tank? I have these lights. They stay on for 9 hours, buuuuuut maybe having all colors set to 100 is not ideal?
Question: glass lids? I know they help with evaporation and keep the fish in the tank. But mine get nasty dirty very quickly. Any trade secrets to prevent glass lids building up of nasty junk?
I have a 90 gal, i cant recall what kind of light i have on it but its far to dim for my liking. Would you recommend this lighting kit or the Fluval Plant Spectrum Bluetooth one you compared it to?

We have a current model from about 5 years ago and I wouldn't trade them for anything, they do get salt creep though if you're not careful
could you use internal filters for cichlids ?

The sound... and the effect that it had. Those sounds probably contain 432hz and possibly 528hz tones. Tones at those frequencies are used all the time for meditation, relaxation & sleeping.
Don’t they have an IR receiver extender like the ones for cable boxes with a jack connector? Also, isn’t the IR able to bounce against the wall in the back so you point to the ceiling or the wall?
I put saltwater rocks in freshwater aquarium and I think it’s great because it is a natural salt that’s fish needs but it’s not to much to where it throws a of the balance of the water any opinions on this ?
What if you put the controllers above the tank on the back wall?

Do your Current Serene Lights make a high pitched noise? How did you get the speakers to work?
So not light related, what are your over flow bulk head fittings called and where did you get them? looking for some surface skimming.
Current USA I have told them about the app for the Orbit Marine and they still have not done anything about the app.For example you open it and it works fine ,say you come back 10 minutes later .You have to close it out and then it works .I wish they would resolve this issues .
Why not pick up some frosted window tint from your hardware store? Bet it works great with that light bar.

Are those lights plant growing?
I have been a current USA customer for years now. The only problems I have had with them is the power packs. I have a Outer Orbit with power compacts and HQI's that I have had to replace the power compact ballast several times. The only way I have kept them running is to buy another brand of ballast. Current's LED lights I have had problems with as well with the power controllers, out of 30 light fixtures 12 have bad controllers. Lets hope Current has their issues fixed on this one.

I still like the look of fluorescent better than led. I have an old coralife compact fluorescent and prefer it. I’ve tried the led but just not a fan.

Jayme Fife get a light bracket from IKea ($10) and a plant LED bulb flood light 13watt for ($20) and you tank will look like a lake with shimmer. I have two on my 120g African Cichlid tank and it looks awesome. The plant bulbs are non dimmer type though.

Put the controllers on a bracket or the wall above the tank on the same side. Problem solved my friend. The only sound effect I like is a waterfall or running stream.

hi john i've been watching your videos for a while now learning and expanding my knowledge on fish tanks and fish i had a question what would you do if you had a 10 gallon tank and the water level is acidic would you consider a massive water change if needed and my next question is if you had fish in it would you consider taking them out while doing the massive water change and would you clean the substrate as well. I have acidic water too. About 6.8. MY KH is low 40. I have worried about this also. I would love to know more about it. I have mountain water here in Wyoming. Maybe it has something to do with it. I will tell you my fish seem to be fine with it. They have been in my tank for 5 months. I do water changes every other week. Maybe John can tell us about this water reading.🤞😉

My HDD has took a dump on me several times. It is kind of why I went to college for computers at first. Redundancy is what you want. Back your HDDs up. Look into a RAID system and external HDDs. :-)

They have the best mounting brackets imop as you can mount two lights on them.. but the lights are sooo under powered for the price..

Not keen on the speakers although the lights seem really good I just can't help but think that the speakers would startle the fish and could potentially make them bash in to something and hurt there self
I mounted my controller to the wall
