I can't put into words how much im excited that Jon picked up this game, it's just wonderful how many terrible decisions this game will enable him to make. It also makes for an amazing livestream series.
Oooooo! Maybe they could let chat decide what perks people get? It would be hilarious to see Jon make a great party only for chat to kidney punch one of the characters with a terrible perk.
"So, if a cardinal marries a bluejay and they have eggs... does that make a purple bird? And if that really is true, as I've now decided to insist, then how come I never see any violet jardinals or plum cays?" This honestly feels like something Jon would say, down to the word choice. Like, who else would say "As I've now decided to insist"?
I played the tank of the party and got saved of a deathly blow by a magic splinter that had stuck to my finger months before and turned into a shield. Awesome game.
Jon, FO4 YOLO: **Oh god everything is going to kill me! Hide! Avoid engaging even trivial enemies! Take no risks whatsoever!** Jon, TTRPGs: I'll casually gamble with my soul in a random event, what could go wrong?

Wildermyth has got to be one of my favourite new games that I have discovered this year. The potential for storytelling and characters that come out of it is just amazing.
Thank you Jon. This is probably one of the best games I have ever seen and you made me buy it. An absolutely wonderful title and I can’t wait to see what more will happen in your journey.
This is the first time Jon and I played the same game -- and I got there first! This game is wonderful, and even my cynical, trope-infested butt found the stories compelling
I absolutely love this game. It's such a fun and compelling game and the stories are different every time. I love that it has lasting consequences & you can recall heroes to future stories.
This stream was the first time I saw Wildermyth. Now my wife and I are three campaigns in and have had many absolutely wonderful hours with this game. We do silly voice acting and everything. Thanks for picking up this game, John!
Love that Jon saw a vaguely yellow-brown egg and decided it was gold. And then decided the not-gold-at-all mother was also gold. And then was confused when the character was joking about cooking it.
I got this game almost a month ago with the Black Friday/Thanksgiving deals but haven't played it yet. I watched the trailers for it and thought it was a really cool game. Now I know that it's a REALLY cool game and now that I finished the video I'm immediately playing this. Thank you Jon for showing this game off!
Jon, I always look forward to you playing these interesting games. I don't follow the FPS games. Got sucked in by your CK3 stream and loved Subnautica. Keep up the great work!
"Have you just gone for a frying pan? Are you about to take on the monsters with a frying pan? Bloody useless..." Jon clearly has never watched Tangled.
Have you ever tried King of Dragon Pass or Six Ages, both strategy games where you control the leaders of a clan over generations, set in Glorantha, the world where the pen and paper RPG classic is set? I think you'd like them, the real fun of them is the stories along the way rather than the strategic objectives.

It's a shame the game is exclusive to the most abusive storefront in the gaming industry. I'd rather see Epic exclusivity than companies locking their games behind a platform which has known it's causing medical harm to customers since 2019. It doesn't help that with over 2 years to fix the problem, Valve has only made things worse by blocking users from access to the only reliable and safe workaround that existed. If you ever have a choice between Steam and not-Steam, always go for the lesser of the two evils. EDIT: Now it's on Epic too, and there's a launch discount... good times.
What's the relationship between Jon and Claire? Are they just co-workers who have a bit of a friendly rivalry or are they one of *those* straight married couples?
They've been dating for years not just coworkers. One of those? Do you mean a couple who supports each other a lot and feel comfortable enough giving each other shit and smack talking because they know it's all in good fun and doesn't actually mean anything? I also don't know what being straight has to do with anything here either.
@@donovanfaust3227 Well I mean this is the first I've heard of Claire and Jon hasn't said a single good thing about her yet, so it's easy to assume they could be one of the straight couples that hate eachother's guts and wish they never got together but stay together because it's expected of them. But it's good to hear from someone with more experience in thus community clarify that they do actually care about eachother and this is just teasing

Same!!! I just bought it recently and it's one of my new favorite games of all time. I'm so excited Jon picked it up too!!
This game feels like it was made for a MATN livestream honestly.
God I hope he gets Dan and Matt to play it with him in co-op
Oooooo! Maybe they could let chat decide what perks people get? It would be hilarious to see Jon make a great party only for chat to kidney punch one of the characters with a terrible perk.

You made me laugh out my coffee!
"I hear digging, but I don't hear chopping!"
Is Claire Jon’s wife, girlfriend, sister, friend, or sworn enemy?
My understanding is that she is both his wife and his best friend. Which is as it should be, your partner should be your best friend
@@lordeverett5642 all of the above :)
I loved his delivery of that line -- he just dropped it real fast and simple and moved on quickly, like he was afraid Claire would overhear. XD

My favourite character in a previous run ended up with no eyes - one was lost to a trap, and the other was replaced with a magical gem.
A magic splinter stuck to your finger...
I would've been expecting an evil tree :P

We need a longer series of this. More, please!

I watched a couple minutes of this video, then went and bought the game. It's really lovely.
"oh there's two clares, that's going to be handy for ALL sorts of things" is that so Jon *wiggles eyebrows*
"Are you seriously going to fight the monsters with a frying pan?"

Smart man.
What is the duck incident i keep hearing about?
Id been wanting this game, and this finally pushed me to get it.
And I've lost an entire day, and god knows probably tomorrow too

i would definitely want to see more of this. full series!
I've been hoping you'd play this one since I heard of it! Glad to hear you've had your eye on it for a while, so to speak.
I have never clicked on a video so fast. I started playing this with my friends a while ago, and I can't believe it's not more popular.
Wildermyth is probably my top game of the year. Glad to see you play it and expose it to more people!
I absolutely love this game. It's such a fun and compelling game and the stories are different every time. I love that it has lasting consequences & you can recall heroes to future stories.
The Devil Went Down to Georgia has taught me that soul betting is always a good idea, especially when you’re wagering for a fiddle of gold
Too bad there isn't a bard class in the game...
This would be such an amazing series
I would love a full, non-livestream series of this

I am really enjoying this, and will probably end up picking this up at some point. Thanks for the video!
OMG the custom descriptions he just breezes over like it's nothing. Amaze
Was wondering when this would come to the channel. Have been waiting to see someone actually play the game before deciding to buy it
I highly recommend it. I bought it on a whim and I am having a blast!
Jon: "Gosh darn you just doomed us all Jon".
I have a feeling Claire agrees.
Thank you for the video.
I have been planning on buying the game for so long :) now, thanks to Jon, I will learn if it is worth it! :)
So true :)
100% worth it
I highly recommend it, it's a pleasant surprise to see Jon play this
I fell in love with this game my first time playing it. Couldn't put it down, played almost the entire first campaign in one sitting.
Just played a campaign after watching this vid and it's quickly become my favourite game of recent times.

I hope this is okay to say, it's also being offer as part of the JingleJam bundle from the Yogscast's charity drive.
Need more of this from Jon
This game is amazing what it is able to bring to life.
This feels like Card Hunter + For the King + bad decisions. I love it
this game broke my heart with its writing
Eluna and the Moth had some beautiful writing
Weird lucky clown is the most honest description of a vg character I have ever seen
I got this game because I saw it here and I am very pleased!
I just got this game as a charity bundle I'm so excited.

Jon after Claire came back from the forest: "Now there is two of them"!!!!!!!!
This is so charming!
I need to know everything about the unfortunate duck incident right this moment, please.
Has it not been served with red cabbage as has been the rule and regulation for hundreds of years?
Ever seen "Tangled"? Fry pans are awesome as weapons ;) :D

I feel like I have heard it before but what's the story of Claire and the duck?
Why does Jon's "secure" have 3 syllables instead of 2? Is Claire French-ness started to infuse with him?
57:16 Um... Jon... I think you're referring to Ash and Butterfree. The episode is called Bye Bye Butterfree.
