Hi, I use a powder called Camu-Camu which you can buy in Amazon or eBuy, a tea spoon is equivalent to 6 oranges and it’s no expensive at all. Be aware to buy it organic certified. You can drink it with anything though be aware it is quite sour. 🤙🏻

For people who can't have high sugar fruits, you can get way more Vit C from bell peppers.

Wow, I just found your channel and realized how much I have to learn. I love the fermenting hobby and now I have learned that it can help my autistic son especially. I think our best days really are ahead of us :)

So if your body sees sugar as vitamin C, then if you drink orange juice you are also giving your body a straight shot of sugar. A far better way to eat oranges is whole, not juiced. The juice can be used to feed the Kombucha and water kefir grains.

I have found that fresh juice is VERY different from store bought. I have a diabetic sister and store bought orange juice will sky rocket her blood sugar. But fresh will only rise it normally. I have the same experience myself. Store bought juice completely makes me crash and feel fatigued but fresh does not. Most Store bought juice has unhealthy additives, is made from green unripe oranges and is pastuerized. Fresh is so so different and retains so many wonderful enzymes and vitamins!
I have a citrus juicer so we get some of the pulp in our juice and its fabulous! We love them whole as well.

I cannot find information that backs up what you mentioned about adding flavoring and vitamin C to commercial OJ. We drink concentrated pasteurized, and I know it isn't good, just can't prove it other than the fact you remove most of the good stuff and leave the sugar.

Hello,I'm glad im listening to your new podcast,,Pls tell me ,do taking cultured foods triggers gastritis and also chronic gut issues like ibs diarrhea predominent alternating with constipation?I have supersensitive stomach and gut which makes me prone to sensitivities to most diet,i wonder if fermented foods would irritate my stomach and gut, will kefir help even if I have problem of bloating taking milk?thank you...

Achang you'll probably find your stomach problems improve by taking kefir, it's usually the lactose in milk that's the problem and the bacteria in kefir eats the lactose in the milk so it has very little left by the time you drink it. Maybe try a little kefir or fermented veg to start and see how you go. If you've never had kefir just start by having a small amount like 3 table spoons or less and build up slowly every day.

You most probably have a leaky gut and should heal your gut before venturing into fermented foods. Check out Dr. Josh Axe's website: draxe.com he has great information on leaky gut and a leaky gut program that worked wonders for me. I am dairy, gluten, soy & sugar free. I make my kefir with coconut milk.

Achang Jishing if you heal the gut it will help with controlling your underlying condition - 80 to 90% of our immune system begins in the gut. Amy Myers, M.D. is another great resource. Wish you well!
