I THOUGHT THE SAME THING! All the rap songs I listen to is about women in tiny skirts and skin-tight dresses with high heels is what they like. I was surprised so many said they DON'T like revealing clothing... but then I thought how edited was this video?
I honestly would feel like it would be similar but also vary greatly depending on the city this is done in (ie: New York, fashion capital versus somewhere like LA or Houston). Unfortunately, a lot of men still have this conservative mindset of judging women based on what they wear. Or thinking a women who wears certain types of clothes, ie: leggings/tight clothes or short skirts are "easy". At least in my experience, I've definitely seen this. I like the guy who said he hates the chunky Fila shoes 🤣🤣

Dress code for school my kids went too....
1. No crop tops or hip hugger jeans (jeans below the belly button).
2. Nothing showing guns, knives, profanity and gang signs or clothing representing gangs such as scarves.
3. Skirks have to be just below fingerprints or knee length. Same for shorts.
4. No hats of any kind to be worn during school hours.
5. No trench coats.
6. No open toe shoes such as flip flops/sandles.

Some of them are sexist, about not revealing too much or being well dressed all the time. Wearing sweats or skirts is not a trend, here it's just preferences but I think some of them think they have the rights to judge their girlfriends and want to control what they wear, which I find very toxic.

I'm pretty sure more women have different thoughts about men style and are more judgemental. It doesnt mean that they are sexists, they arent forcing it, they said that they doesnt have a problem with revealing clothes but "prefers" and like it if their gf doesnt.

I've just spent three weeks in Korea and they are really conservative with their clothing, even more so then I expected. Very few people showed any skin, it was interesting.
No wonder they are so hung up on their idols. The idols wear very skinny and tight clothing all the time..
Im honestly glad that they made two videos about this topic, this way we can reveal all the double standards...
Girls Video: "I hate shorts because leg hair is nasty" "I hate sleeveless shirts because armpit hair is nasty" "I dislike skinny jeans because it makes them look feminine"

I didn't watch that one because just this one popped on my recommended, but I bet that there half of the girls weren't like "no revealing clothes on my bf because it attracts attention and comes with a reputation". No hate tho, just answering. That mentality is mainly because women are and have being way more objectified. Or when a girl that has been rapped is asked by the police what was she wearing, this happened many times, and it comes with that mentality that if a woman wears something that the man considers revealing, he can behave badly towards her, heck, even between women the male chauvinism put it in our brains and we criticized each others.

They dont like when women wear revealing clothes in PUBLIC because men know how men think. Men dont want other men looking at their girlfriends/ wives. Its a natural and innate characteristic of men in general (there are always exceptions) but most men will feel this way. Note how the one guy said he only minds when his girlfriend wears such clothes, he doesnt care if other women do, and actually they dont mind it at all, which is why girlgroup members wear such clothes because companies know what men will want to see. Its the harsh truth.

Is it proper to show off? Is she a piece of art? No she is a human that needs to be treated with respect. You are showing off for what reason? To make one jealous I would assume, to test each others trust and risking the relationship. A man who truly cherishes his girlfriend is one who wants all of her, and not give to anyone else, the strength in that relationship will prevail, so making sure she dresses up a bit more conservatively is a mans way of subtle protection from others. It truly shows he cares.

short skirts do look pretty but they come with problems. You have to be careful to not reveal anything accidentally while sitting or kneeling and bending, constantly tug it in place, if you have a big butt and thighs then the skirt rides up more. Still I like how women in Korea are cool about it - like if they are sitting they drape their legs with blankets or keep pillows on their laps.

I reckon most women dress for other women rather than men. After all, who gives them the opinions? Who do we share clothes with? Women like to dress in the latest fashion generally. ( Though some have own dress sense they stick to.) Men's opinions don't get a lookin unless it's Dad, brother or boyfriend, partner, husband. I would imagine the same everywhere. I've heard, even in extreme Muslim countries, women meet privately and dress up for eachother. I personally like to feel comfortable and good in my clothes. I like practical clothes and shoes. Personally, I'm conservative myself when it comes to revealing stuff. I don't find comfortable and know many men agree that some things are better left to the imagination. When I was younger, was at a dance. Girl voted best legs had dress down to ankles with slit up to knee only. Make of that what you will.
We all have likes and dislikes, different cultures, different backgrounds. It's not like you are actually going to met these guys and say "what is wrong with you ?" or smth like that

Before you comment, "Wow they're so sexist/controlling/etc.", they're not. It's just an opinion. "Too revealing" over in Korea includes exposing your shoulders and back, as well as stomach, legs. Most of the opinions are pretty valid fashion points, mostly due to UTILITY. The only opinion I wasn't a fan of was "it attracts too much attention" because it can indicate a lack of trust or confidence, but the culture on appearances is different compared to Western standards.
I don’t think it’s necessarily different conservatives in western cultures say the exact same things difference is it isn’t questioned the same or to the extent that it is in western cultures. Regardless of which country it’s said some answers were rooted in sexist ideas or beliefs which they may not of even had an understanding that it was. I do believe those particular people are much more likely to have more controlling tendencies in their relationships than those that answered merely on a question of poor fashion choice or the last person. I still think it is important to have in these types of videos maybe even additional follow up questions as the initial question is just providing a blanket overview of thoughts of the public but follow up questions could maybe give people who may never of entertained a different view about it some interesting ideas or challenges to their views instead of leaving discussion solely in the video comments. But don’t get me wrong I still find these videos great, and I think conservative fashion or ideals is just as amazing and valid as those that prefer more revealing attire and Koreans have amazing fashion as it is. But definitely would be interested to see if they do a video discussing how international and western ideologies through social media fashion music etc are now much more prevalent and growing within South Korea and how they feel that’s maybe impacted them and their own ideas around fashion and presenting oneself as western standards focus on a very individualistic views towards fashion rather than a collective view.
I actually like what some say about some girl showing skin because for myself as a girl I like to dress modest and not show my skin that's why I like what one them said about not to show their skin tooo much

If she posted pics of herself in these kinds of outfits, he would make her delete it. She has officially broken up with her ex and now has a healthy relationship with someone who doesn't shame her for that. But one thing is saying what it's your preference and other labeling people as easy or whores according to their outfit. Now be realistic for a second and think about it, how many times men get that because they are wearing something revealing? And women? I’m a girl and tbh I understand that some guys have certain preferences! Some of their dislikes are a bit surprising, especially the sweatpants and sweatshirts guy, but whatever, it’s their opinion. As long as they don’t go out and shame girls who wear stuff that they dislike because of their own opinion, I don’t really see why they should be called rude or controlling. As for the girls video, I understand that they too have their own preferences. I don’t really like when guys wear pants or shorts that are super low to the point that u can see their underwear. well guys let me tell you ~ a lot of girls also don't like very short short but the fashion industry is almost only making those so we have to choose between exposing our but cheeks or stay very hot in a long pair of jeans when it's 37 degree in summer in korea .... fashion industry please give us some wearable short that cover our butt !
Seriously, I only have one pair of shorts that I'm confident to wear (because they have the perfect size, they don't show nothing of my butt and they have more fabric to cover the area where my hips touch one another while I walk) and don't feel self conscious, this doesn't mean I don't like my body because I have confidence and I find myself pretty, but I don't like to show my body around. But even that pair was almost impossible to find in clothes stores. It's either show the butt or some cycling shorts.
