Nice job fellas! Loved the discussion…reminds me of some of my stories in the 80’s….I had a Kmart bike that frame cracked after a week and my Dad took me to the legit bike shop. The shop owner pulled down a GT freewheel with caliper brakes and a rotor and my dad knew I had only been use to the coaster brake bikes….so he said nah, you don’t want that bike and shop owner pulled down a red coaster brake bike (don’t even remember the brand, but it wasn’t one of the high-end brands) and to this day I remember just accepting it because I was just happy to be riding! I was probably 8 years old…When I hit 13 I was old enough to get a paper route and I bought my neighbors 85 GT Mach One! Bought it for $50!! The GT 50th anniversary I’m building now is going to be sort of a tribute to that Mach One! So cool to hear all of your memories as well.
When you're a kid that young, you don't know any better and so any new bike is still a new bike! I did the paper route thing too and that's how I bought my Diamond Back Silver Streak. Your 50th Anniversary GT sounds amazing! Send us some pics of it! Thanks for sharing your story and for watching the video!
Anotha banger for the 808! Thank yall for this post I live in Houston, Tx! Def gonna plan a road trip to check this one out! I wouldnt have known about this shop if it wasnt for your channel!!! So Thank yall for building up the BMX community!!
Thanks man! Yes, you can definitely make the drive over and you should! His shop is pretty awesome and Mike is a good dude. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
I still have my Interceptor. I can relate to the story as well. I bought that GT off a kid when I was 17 for $70. That's all we could afford. Huffy gang all day!
Thats' really cool that you still have your Interceptor! And for just $70! But I guess $70 back then was a lot today! Thanks for sharing that and for watching!
Mike has done some amazing builds! If I am ever in Huston it will be a destination stop for sure…all those frames! Currently on vacation on Oahu and will have to make a trip to the Bike Factory. Aloha Kev and Bernie!! Bernie my first bike was a Huffy too…still have it. All my friends laughed at my yellow Huffy…didn’t matter, it was my first taste of freedom.
100%! Mike does some awesome stuff and if you get the chance, you gotta check him out! The Bikefactory Hawaii has a ride tonight I think! Hope you enjoy your trip and thanks for watching!
It was totally worth the drive! Mike is a great guy. It sucks that he had to change his name but that's not gonna stop him. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Man, that sucks! So many bikes were stolen back in the day! We locked ours up and only had the seat and seat post stolen. Oh, they stole the pads too! But yeah, I feel you bro. Hey, appreciate the vid you shared wearing our shirts too! Thanks for the support!

Wow
My cousin just dumped her red line that was hanging up in her father's garage for 45 years in perfect condition.
I had a GT Mach One that got stolen. It was a good bike, sigh

Crazy to lose your brand and have to redo it.
Right? And he has worked so hard for that name. It’s crazy they went after him. But he’s used that to push him to the next level!
