I wish every novelists riffs were made with effort like this, Voyager, gravity, twenty years (forgot the exact title) they just play bar chords on their newer stuffs leaving so many spaces to fill with licks, riffs.

Read the lyrics that's probably why most of their music is insanely emotional, metaphoric and philosophical you can take away a lot from it and apply it to your life and they're able to capture that sound. But their premise is not only speaking the pain they feel but overcoming it or using it for strength. Which creates that feeling you speak of. Sadness and hope

2-3 years of consistent practice even if you're a total newb and you'll play this easily.
