I think the couple and the designer did a great job with the interior (except the macrame over the bed 👎) and respecting the very good bones of the house. 👏 This couple is going to have a lot of money, so considering that they seem to live well, but relatively simple when you think about the McMansion they could be in and ITS cost.
Actually, sounds like it's just a decorator. An interior designer is not a fancy word for decorator. They are different. Interior designers do things like knock down walls. They're very similar to architects, except they don't deal with the exterior or load-bearing walls (think of like kitchen and bath design, for example). It's possible the person she called a designer is actually an interior designer, but seeing how she had an architect do the kitchen, it sounds like that person was just a decorator. (I am an interior designer. And until I became licensed under the state board of architectural examiners, I actually could not legally call myself an interior designer.)

It depends. We were raised to always wear slippers around the house but yeah, shows how she's so down-to-earth and doesn't care if her being barefoot is filmed on tv.
I know this sounds crazy to most people but 2.6 is really not that expensive in that area. To me it seems like the house is around 2,500 sq ft with lot size around 5,000 if I have to guess. The cost of the house before the renovation would be around 1.5 to 2mil in South Pasadena right now. With all the “designers’ touch”, 2.6 seems to be pretty comparable to other houses that are selling for that price without the “design”. One reason why South Pasadena is a desirable city for many people is because it is one of the nearest suburban city around downtown LA. It is about 10min away from downtown. For those who doesn’t want to live in Downtown but still wants to be close to the action, South Pas is the perfect city to have it all. The downside is the cost is also much higher. I don’t live in South Pasadena but I live in a nearby city so I kinda understand the housing market around the San Gabriel Valley.

pretty much what everyone needs in a home. The short ceiling in the living room, cozy kitchen, cute alley of library, all window and slide doors for the natural light, wide-open area for a fun barbeque with scenery. But, there's no walking closet here, which is perfect!

Love love love love it ! Each and every single detail about this house is just brilliant and elegant.
I know this sounds crazy to most people but 2.6 is really not that expensive in that area. To me it seems like the house is around 2,500 sq ft with lot size around 5,000 if I have to guess. The cost of the house before the renovation would be around 1.5 to 2mil in South Pasadena right now. With all the “designers’ touch”, 2.6 seems to be pretty comparable to other houses that are selling for that price without the “design”. One reason why South Pasadena is a desirable city for many people is because it is one of the nearest suburban city around downtown LA. It is about 10min away from downtown. For those who doesn’t want to live in Downtown but still wants to be close to the action, South Pas is the perfect city to have it all. The downside is the cost is also much higher. I don’t live in South Pasadena but I live in a nearby city so I kinda understand the housing market around the San Gabriel Valley.

But seriously, a 2.6 million dollar house for a Hollywood celeb is either trying to be low key, or she doesn’t have that much money/ hasn’t been that successful. I don’t see her as trying to be low key as her decor is rather formal. So, I’ll chalk it up to the fact that I don’t remember any recent successful movies she has been in recently, or albums she has produced. Nonetheless, money and success isn’t everything and she seems cute and sweet as she has always been.
Speaking Truths she’s one of the main actors in This Is Us. Pretty sure she isn’t hurting for money.

What I love about this is how modest or humble the home feels for someone like her. I'm sure she's more than capable of spending $2.6M on a home but the entire space just feels modest.

I love this house! It's very unassumingly elegant, classy, simple/modern yet cozy.
pretty much what everyone needs in a home. The short ceiling in the living room, cozy kitchen, cute alley of library, all window and slide doors for the natural light, wide-open area for a fun barbeque with scenery. But, there's no walking closet here, which is perfect!
Looks very pretty don't get me wrong but rather unhabited. Almost like they don't live there at all? Almost like a museum
maybe because that's something that happens a lot with celebrities, they work all over the world for long periods of time so they spend as much time as they can in their homes.
