- In this episode of Open Door, "This is Us" actress and musician Mandy Moore takes Architectural Digest on a tour of the $2.6 million mid-century home she purchased with fiancé Taylor Goldsmith in Pasadena. After buying the property, Moore worked with Sarah Sherman Samuel to renovate the four-bedroom house designed by architect Harold Zook. The property features 1.45 acres of land, 360-degree views, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, a breakfast nook, a spa, and a pool.

Actually, sounds like it's just a decorator. An interior designer is not a fancy word for decorator. They are different. Interior designers do things like knock down walls. They're very similar to architects, except they don't deal with the exterior or load-bearing walls (think of like kitchen and bath design, for example). It's possible the person she called a designer is actually an interior designer, but seeing how she had an architect do the kitchen, it sounds like that person was just a decorator. (I am an interior designer. And until I became licensed under the state board of architectural examiners, I actually could not legally call myself an interior designer.)
I love how humble she was throughout the interview. She mentioned the designers and kept saying, 'I'm so lucky to be able...' look at the view or have this article of furniture or whatever. I really appreciate that aspect of her.

I wouldn’t know if the humble is put on or not, I don’t know her. But I do appreciate her consistently mentioning the designer and giving us her full name, as well as knowing about the artists that created the pieces in her home. I think the couple and the designer did a great job with the interior (except the macrame over the bed 👎) and respecting the very good bones of the house. 👏 This couple is going to have a lot of money, so considering that they seem to live well, but relatively simple when you think about the McMansion they could be in and ITS cost.
That reading nook/ hallway is absolutely gorgeous.

Her house has a modern contemp feel so really she can change up some things but the marble and white are classic, so she was smart to have a very little accents. He house is quite lovely overall

I have loved her since her first single “Candy”. She’s so humble and her house is not some freaking expensive castle. 2.6 mil is actually a bargain for a house that beautiful. My favorite on this channel so far. No anxiety inducing overcrowding ugly mismatched furniture. And no 5 living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms with waaay too much claustrophobic color on the walls.

A resort home, it's beautiful, mandy appreciates the little things and she's so honest and grateful for the beauty that surrounds her. Amazing woman!
I know this sounds crazy to most people but 2.6 is really not that expensive in that area. To me it seems like the house is around 2,500 sq ft with lot size around 5,000 if I have to guess. The cost of the house before the renovation would be around 1.5 to 2mil in South Pasadena right now. With all the “designers’ touch”, 2.6 seems to be pretty comparable to other houses that are selling for that price without the “design”. One reason why South Pasadena is a desirable city for many people is because it is one of the nearest suburban city around downtown LA. It is about 10min away from downtown. For those who doesn’t want to live in Downtown but still wants to be close to the action, South Pas is the perfect city to have it all. The downside is the cost is also much higher. I don’t live in South Pasadena but I live in a nearby city so I kinda understand the housing market around the San Gabriel Valley.

But seriously, a 2.6 million dollar house for a Hollywood celeb is either trying to be low key, or she doesn’t have that much money/ hasn’t been that successful. I don’t see her as trying to be low key as her decor is rather formal. So, I’ll chalk it up to the fact that I don’t remember any recent successful movies she has been in recently, or albums she has produced. Nonetheless, money and success isn’t everything and she seems cute and sweet as she has always been.

Finally, someone who doesn’t wear their shoes in the house! I mean, people can do what they want but it bothers me when people (especially in TV shows) wear their shoes indoors. It’s your home, walk barefoot. Also, you shouldn’t put your shoes on the bed.

This house is beautiful, very pristine, the different pieces of inlayed stones on the bench , she mentioned are quite fascinating, allowing a brilliant touch to the house ; i also found the hood, cooper or brass whichever it was, was very beautiful. The entirety of the house was charming, warm and almost adorable and I especially loved the blush dishes, the pink addition complimented the walls, and the kitchen beautifully.

pretty much what everyone needs in a home. The short ceiling in the living room, cozy kitchen, cute alley of library, all window and slide doors for the natural light, wide-open area for a fun barbeque with scenery. But, there's no walking closet here, which is perfect!
