- Today Architectural Digest brings you to West Hollywood to tour Nina Dobrev’s stunning Spanish-style home. Dobrev, who is Bulgarian and spent some of her childhood in the south of France, leaned into her heritage when revamping the interiors with designer Charlie Barstein. While an airy sense of California cool is evident in sleek brass details and locally-sourced art and furniture, her careful preservation of the residence’s late-1920s Spanish-style architecture provides a sense of European elegance.

Nah she's an actress, but I think she's just genuine. She also isn't that rich, the vampire diaries was huge, but it was on the cw and end a while ago. She hasn't been in a lot of projects, she probably is very intentional with how she spends her money.

Celebrities always like to portray perfection even when there isn't any reason to. I love how Nina points out the imperfections in her house, makes it lived in. Simply put, the most human house any celebrity owns.
If you were paid as much money as actors (they just know how to pretend to the camera, it's not a talent, but a pretence, the ability to lie) in the modern world, their profession (100 years ago they lived in poverty, since you don't earn a lot in the theater, and because of the cameras and the cinematograph that appeared at the end of the 20th century they were put on too high a social level is not deserved) is not worth the money. So if you had so much money, you would live in the same beauty and in huge houses, rest 4-5 times a year, have a stylist (who picks up their clothes, and also have a lot of money to buy branded clothes), like them, etc. You should not put these people above yourself, value yourself more, and the fact that you worship them does not improve your life.

Her house isn't huge because Dobreva isn't exactly a huge, really famous actress. BUT if she becomes really famous and kept that house, that is a good sign, because all those enormous houses that big celebrities have are a waste of money, not just because those are expensive but the "logistics" around such houses are expensive and taxes are accordingly big. To be frugal in such moments, when one has considerable amounts of money, that is really smart and a sign that the celebrity or whoever has those money knows how to keep his/her fortune.

I am an artist. Charcoal is one of most difficult medium to work on. Especially leaving the white space and not make the paper look dirty. The painting was Exquisite.

Love when AD hosts home owners with modest size homes regardless of the amount of dollars spent on interior exterior designs. I love that I can still relate in size of kitchen bedroom and bathroom. I find that it’s important to still be meaningful behind closed doors no matter the amount of someone’s bank account. Blissfully organic ❤
I've just watched 6 of these celebrity videos in a row, and she was the first to say she actually cooks and ENJOYs cooking in her kitchen. I apperciate that so much, cooking with friends and family is so important. She just gives cozy safe bff vibes. 10/10
I love how casual and relatable she is. I mean she painted her house herself, she up-cycled, kept old pieces, took things her friends didn't need anymore. She admitted spending a year binge watching on her sofa like most of us and guilty, she turned a room into a gym! I mean she feels real, her house looks lived in and not stage contrary to other celebrities.

Yeah the fresh cut lavender, perfectly placed pruning shears, fresh loaf of bread on a pedestal, and fresh bouquet of flowers doesn’t feel staged at all. She’s so down to earth and relatable!

So much light. Love the indoor, outdoor feeling of this house. Would have never thought to do a dark fireplace, but it really works. The white is such a great canvas to add colorful decor.
The contemporary twist on the traditional, Spanish floor tiles is really stunning. I love Spanish architecture and prefer more of a darker, moody home, but I do appreciate how she lightened up the look while keeping some of the original design. Kudos.

she explains every detail, every texture of the floor, wall, makes me feel like I'm recording, I love the calm and the essence, makes everything feel cozy in seconds, I love the fact that she's so famous and started so young, and regardless of whether the house looks like a castle or not, this house was literally made and thought for Nina.

This is a well-thought out house and you can see her deep connection to it: it's really HER home. AD, this was so refreshing. A lovely change from the (trying to be polite here) fake, showcase-y vibe that you typically see in celebrity homes, which is entertaining but doesn't give you a sense of soul.

I absolutely LOVE this house, normally this would not be my style (1920's is not my decade), but this is beautiful, peaseful, spacey and homey. It so well put together en thought out. Great inspiration too!

This is most probably the most beautiful house I've ever seen. Not screaming "look at my money" to everyone's face, it has a real soul and every single detail is well thought-out. Plus you can tell Nina knows every corner of it and is happy living there.

This is the first time i see a house from a celebrity that isn't unnecessarily big. Ofc it's still big and expensive, especially for only one person but living there with a family would be quite modest haha i'm from switzerland and this amount space would be normal for a family in the upper middle class. It's nice to see it because the bigger isn't always the better, especially with a house.

I live in a tenement house from 1906 that survived the war. So this atmosphere, the creaky floors, the tiles in the bathroom. That wooden table in the living room that looks like the one in the family house in which I live now it is a nostalgia.
I just love watching this over and over, when Nina explains everything I know it IS really her home because she does it in details and this house is definitely very important for her. I want to create mine the way she did with this house someday
