If it‘s just the cheapest I’ll say it's OK, but if it is one of the best EV also, whoa that will be a problem.
It looks just like my Chevy Bolt EV, but it has half the range and half the acceleration. Also BYD is near the top for most complaints per 10,000 vehicles in China. For a few thousand dollars less than a Bolt you're getting less car. I'm not impressed. I think this is just sales hype.
The lowest priced EV I can purchase in California is the Nissan Leaf, for $28,000

US and EU nowardays are already reverting to protectionist trade policy and gonna slap these cars with heavy tariffs. The politicians will justify it by claims that these chinese companies are state subsidied, with unfair advantages, keeping yuan artificially low yada yada... Shorterm policies are just paintjobs and will never really fix any long term problems with competitiveness

Excellent. Brother in law bought a BYD Seal 3.8s and it is superior in every way to our Tesla 3 Twin Motor and Tesla S P100D. Now, having given my Tesla 3 to my daughter, I will buy either an MG4 or Ora Funky Cat.
There many reports of BYD EV cars suddenly caught fire or explosion for no reasons as it's battery bursted into flames!!!! Who want to lose their lives for cheapskate and risky vehicles????
