- There are so many soldering blocking to choose from when silver smithing. In this video I talk about three different types. Links are listed below👇
1. Vermiculite Solder Block-www.riogrande.com/product/ska...
2. Honeycomb solder block-etsy.me/3jtS6vE
3. Charcoal Solder block-www.beaducation.com/p/2195-je...
I’ve been told that the charcoal block will break and to bind it with steel wire to hold it together to prevent breakage.
Thanks so much for breaking this down! Love and appreciate your videos!
Very helpful video! FYI I read somewhere to take your vermiculite block outside, find a fairly smooth patio or sidewalk, lay it gently on the surface then slide it in circles in two directions. Check your block , it’s like brand new! Perfect surface! Saves money too
Rebeccah B Great tip!! Thanks for letting me know!
Thank you so much ! This video is very helpful I almost bought the first to things but I think I will stick with the charcoal soldering block !🥰
Love your videos. Super informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! ❤️
Your videos are the best I’ve come across for learning. Why do you not post very often? 😭😭 would LOVE more content from you or if you teach classes online?
Thank you! This is just a part time gig for me. Maybe in the future once I have more time on my hands ☺️
Thanks!
Rio is SO costly. I love their stuff but I can’t afford the supplies through them. Do you have any other suggestions for ss wire etc? I can’t imagine what I’d have to charge to sell pieces to customers using rios supplies
The price of silver is the highest it’s been in years. Honestly I use Rio because they have the cheapest cost of silver per Troy ounce I’ve found.
