    So I won the british GT Championship in 2017 with the G55 GT4, European GT4 Runner up in 2018 and also raced in AT Bathurst 12hr in 2018 - the ACC representation and setups were spot on. It seems the Automobilista 2 car is the Supercup variant. The GT4 has the cut wing as the regulations ask for that, on all cars!
    The G55 GT4 is spot on for ACC, it is mega. Need a chunk more oversteer in the high speed corners however the rest is pretty perfect!

    • @willtregurtha7
      @willtregurtha7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Supercup variant of bigger splitter and wing gives approximately 1 second of laptime at Snetterton circuit
      The GT4 Version has side exit exhausts unlike the Supercups rear exit. The GT4 has a higher compression ratio and uses 101 octane fuel, so goes from 340 bhp ish to 380.
      The Ginetta irl, has quite a vague power steering system, so any FFB will reflect this.

      @@andrewtaylor1598 no worries- it's a great car.
      Usually in ACC if you start on the aggressive baseline, a click or two less of rear toe in, add 2-4 clicks of rear ride hight, take minimum wing and go stuffers front springs with 8k rear, 3,3 ARB all around (3,2 for brands hatch) and soften the front rebound in the Ginetta, it's almost perfect to real life, setup and driving wise!

    I have played both and agree with most points. I must confess AMS2 feels more like fun to me. I feel like a better racing driver at it. But ACC feels like the real deal to me, it's just so hard to drive on the limit, that sometimes it gets me frustrated. While AMS make me feel like a racing driver, ACC make me feel like I suck at driving and should be playing something else. But I keep coming back to improve and get rid of that feeling. Great vid man, thanks you very much.

    Personally I find the GT class of cars in AMS2 to handle horribly. Very similar to PCars2, very floaty and pendulumy. Open wheeler cars in AMS2 is where its at, they are incredible. ACC has GT style cars down best in the sim world at the moment.
    What wheel base do you have? I find the off center feel in AMS2 in the Ginetta is extremely vague and lose. ACC feels perfect to me with my DD1

    Nice review mate, I agree. ACC defo has the GT4's now, current king. I will say I bought the DLC yesterday AM and I work from home for a living. I didn't do much work yesterday as I drove around the world racing different circuits in different GT4 cars. It was a great day and I did get some really good quality racing in with the AI. I noticed that in this 1.5 version of the game that the AI went to turn in on me but when they noticed me there and I could see the front wheels of the AI car turn away. This is all well and good when coming from behind. That said if you are ahead of them and on the inside they will still turn in on you and spin the back of your car around. It seems Kunos have the AI working if you are coming in from behind but they yet have tamed the AI when you are pulling ahead on the inside of a corner. The AI drive like cops in a car chase, they pit maneuver you and spin you by hitting the rear corner of your car. It's always been in ACC but now they have fixed the turn in when you are alongside but not the pit maneuvre when you are pulling ahead on the inside. WIP me thinks, give em time, it's only been two years.

    As to your statement about ghe gearing being different between the games...
    You were bouncing off the limiter in ACC, but in AMS2 you just missed the limiter by a couple hundred rpm so that setting is on you to fix.

  • @porthmeor1
    @porthmeor1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    ACC just feels too connected at times but with strangely less feel on the limit. For me AMS 2 offers the best driving experience if, perhaps, with less glitz and pretentiousness! It seems to emulate the feel really well. I see comments here and on the vid about the back end not connected and faster times with no wing but with the right driving style that's the way it is. Low wing will give those front tyres more grip into the apex and reduce under-steer - you just have to feel it with the gas pedal for a rapid exit. I just love it - a breath of fresh air and very early days for Reiza - and there are more fabulous car classes that put a big smile on your face.

    Sept, just bought Ams2, my other sims are AC ( for Nordschleife) and the original Project Cars & Dirt Rally 2.0. I've just got back into sim racing after 8 years away. My previous sim experience was Sim Bin Race 07 plus most of the content. Finding Project Cars didn't quite hit the mark, loving AC's Nordschleife, but boy that's tricky, very rewarding when you get a good lap. Ams2 on the other hand, well I'd seen alot of stuff online about FFB mods so wasn't sure what to expect, I thought I'd start real simple with a 175 BHP Caterham and as near to an Oval as possible. Wow, I agree completely in encourages you to find the edge and go play, an absolute blast! My real world racing experience is not substantial, some karting and some track days. Driving the Caterham took me straight back to my karting, I think they've nailed the FFB, I've always been an instinctive driver, not always able to explain what or how I do what I do, and the FFB in this game seems very natural to me, where I've had to tiptoe in AC to try and find the edge, and it doesn't encourage me to play at all, pray maybe.. I did find it somewhat easier after a few hours in Ams2 tho' which was an unexpected bonus. Maybe it's helped blow away some cobwebs or boosted my confidence, I'd heartily recommend Ams2 to any SIM Racer.

  • @ErwinLiszkowicz
    @ErwinLiszkowicz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    @Ermin lack of wing says nothing about being real or not. Aris on his stream said that most GT4 drivers tend to use as little wing as possible because aero isn't relevant in GT4 at all. It is there only to balance the car a bit.

    • @ErwinLiszkowicz
      @ErwinLiszkowicz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Also as for the FFB. Automobilista is amazing but I feel like it is more artificial. The FFB in it feels like someone aimed to create the most pleasurable FFB, in ACC it feels more like something that could actually happen in real car. Both games have different approaches. I'm more of a fan of Automobilista's approach but on the other hand, can you really criticise ACC for more 'analytical' approach?

    • @Ermz

    • @ErwinLiszkowicz
      @ErwinLiszkowicz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Ermz I'm not saying that overall you're not right, because surely there's something wrong with automobilista in terms of physics. But saying that it is not right because of little to no wing on time attack chart records isn't a valid argument 😁

    • @RubberStig
      @RubberStig 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ErwinLiszkowicz You are right. I wish there was an option in ACC to feel the limit (even though that is artificial) simply because it is more pleasurable to drive it like that. To me a large part of a simulation is the immersion, and I don't feel immersed because the cars feel like I am controlling them via remote control, rather than actually sitting in it.

    • @ErwinLiszkowicz
      @ErwinLiszkowicz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@RubberStig I'm also more of a fan of that approach. My point is - it is unfair to say that FFB in ACC is not realistic because it isn't as pleasurable. I'd argue that it's more realistic than automobilista. But automobilista's approach is better gameplay wise as it makes better use of hardware. It addresses the limitations of our rigs and tries to overcome them in the best way possible. ACC doesn't do that at all, instead aiming to replicate forces that are present while holding real steering wheel. It's a difference of approach, not of quality IMO

  • @RTPJu

    The two cars fell different because they are different models. AMS2 is not the GT4, but the Super Cup version, that do not have TC and ABS, probably have some different components and the SC have a left driver's seat version (that I don't know if is the only version).
    BTW... real cars rear wheels aren't that railed as some simulators shows. The thing is... AMS2 have it too loose compared to the front... the ideal is a mid term, because AMS2 let you save too much with steering, but ACC don't let you control enough. And, even them, it's a pure subjective perception and the simulators's engines use to do some artificial tweaks to balance those blank spots.
    Nice video... cheers!

    • @tomt.1825
      @tomt.1825 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the tire model for AMS2 is pretty generous temp wise, big range. The default setups are poor. ACC is user friendly with temp too, but the big difference between the games is the way OMI and pressures are so easy to tweak. AMS2, it takes a lot of tuning. In AMS2 the track dynamics play a big role as well. In TT, the track is rubbered and for a couple of laps even a bad tire setup (pressure too high, camber out of whack) you can still post fast times (perhaps even faster times), until there is a big performance drop off. You can take that setup into a MP or race or practice and it won't drive the same, at...all. So it depends on what scenario you are driving and whether you put some time in to make a proper setup for situations outside of TT.

    Regarding AMS 2 records,being set with almost no wing, I doubt that it's somewhat related or is similar in nature to RF2's issue with the same symptoms. In AMS 2 cars understeer like on rails while under breaking, then oversteer when on throttle. RF2 does not display THAT amount of weird behaviour in the domain of weight transfer and car balance

    As somebody who "mained" AC in the "previous-gen" of simulators I feel very connected to ACC with my T300, as both sims share a common FFB philosophy. I bought a lot of content for rF2 during the Steam sale (Endurance, FE) because of the Virtual Le Mans race as well as your channel. It is great as well, different feeling from AC(C), very dynamic, but sometimes the cars do unexpected things for me - e.g. I feel lost with the Oreca on LM, I have zero confidence in the rear into Indianapolis (right turn apex/exit). AMS2 is very hit or miss still, I gave the new Camaro a try and I have never felt so much understeer ever. It has a lot of potential but it needs a lot of work still.
    Regarding the GT4 Pack, I enjoy it very much. In my opinion what ACC does is done exceptionally well with top quality. Honestly, a bit of AI improvement to make them more racey and it would be pretty much perfect for me. GT4 was a really nice addition to ACC and I hope Kunos has more content planned beyond the British GT Pack.
    Good luck with your channel, I like your videos!
    Edit: Indianapolis, not Arnage

    A little unfair I feel. You're comparing a GT4 (ACC) with a GT4 Super cup (AMS 2). The AMS 2 car is 25 hp less than the one featured in ACC. Also if the ACC car is way more planted, how come you struggled to get a clean lap in, yet in the AMS 2 car you seemed to get a lovely clean lap? There are some videos on TH-cam of real life Ginetta GT4s and if you look at them you will see what a handful they are under braking... just as they are in AMS 2. The GT4 cars in ACC are real good fun, but then there are 11 of them. AMS 2 has only just been released, so in one years time from now it will be a more fitting time for a true comparison. For me, the ability to control a cars turn mid bend with throttle input is amazingly accurate in AMS 2.

    I have more the impression to drive a real race car on ACC than on AMS2, on AMS2 everything is easy too easy it doesn't look very realistic or I'm a great driver (really not), on ACC I feel that the car is not easy to control that it takes experience and a very precise driving otherwise the sanction is there!
    ams2 like pcars2 is fun and pleasant but I don't have the impression of a simulation like the other titles.

    dont think its a proper vs video, tyre pressures and temps are too low for the first 2/3 laps on acc because of the gt4 dont have tirewarmers for acc after that they will be optimum. so you are making a review on acc which isnt valid imo. so it would be even better

    AMS2 seems more accurate, since slick-tyres plus engine in the front produce the grip i would estimate and cars are steering more directly similar to the road cars I was driving. Zero wing on a Ginetta GT4 seems appropriate as well, since it's a relatively lightweight car with slick-tyres and you don't want to add drag on a track like Bathurst. Zero wing doesn't mean zero downforce since there is still a gurney flap on the Ginetta wing. The ACC Ginetta is a bit useless with this 240 km/h limit at Bathurst. Other cars like the McLaren are doing 265 km/h and are likely even faster uphill.
    And the AMS2-Ginetta is the Supercup version with 355 hp instead of 380 and it's 30k pounds cheaper (89k vs 119k) for reasons i can't see from the specs. The Supercup has a wider wing but looks identical otherwise.

      > The ACC Ginetta is a bit useless with this 240 km/h limit at Bathurst.
      According to Kunos' info all cars have fixed gear ratios that have to be used during the whole season in reality, so ingame.

      @@michasmarzewski3670 When you watch onboards it seems, that ACC made many bumps disappear in the physics. I can feel them with my motion-setup, but they don't have any impact on the handling and FFB most of the time. Some tracks in AMS2 feels that they are too bumpy and always have an impact. From the tracks I know also in iRacing and ACC (Bathurst, Oulton Park, Interlagos, Imola, Suzuka, Donington, Kyalami) there are no differences in corner-radius, camber, curbs, width of the track and feel the same for me, so I don't care if they are officially laserscanned if they feel accurate. Silverstone or Bathurst in rF2 never felt accurate in some corners, so it's not that I can't feel it.

    Ive got 120 hours in AMS2 by now.... been with it through early access... After playing it this long, there's so many things about it that anger and frustrate me because they just seem like laziness on Reiza's part. A lot of the interface issues, a lot of the weird setup issues (air restrictor glitches breaking the game anyone?) and a few other car specific problems that need to be addressed....
    I always come back to it because it is just so much fun to drive. I cant quite place it... even when the car doesnt quite feel right, it is still so much fun to dance with all of them.

    After 1 hour of AMS2 with this car and this track my best time 2:23.8. Fourth lap on ACC same car, same track 2:15.9
    I drive in VR so let me describe my experience. I have rf2, r3e, ac, acc, pc2, iracing and of course ams2.
    In any game if my car understeers I feel it through the wheel. But I also have the visual that the front quarter panel is going to hit the wall. That's true except in AMS2. In AMS2 when the car understeers, I still feel it through the wheel, but the visual tell me that the side of my car is going to hit the wall not the front quarter panel. The car is sliding like it is being pushed by a force on the door facing the inside of the turn.
    That's disconcerting for my brain, hence I cannot push the car. I noticed that when Gamer Muscle did a review of AMS2 he said he had to be careful with his inputs b/c otherwise it messes with his brain.
    Now full disclaimer: I have over 400 hours in ACC and only 3 hours in AMS. The way it messes with my brain b/c of the visuals doesn't make it pleasant for me to drive it. I have over 1500 hours of VR driving in SIM. And if I were to compare the madness engine, I have close to 300 hours in PC2 in VR.

    • @MadMaxBLD

      I got that same impression driving retro F1 cars in AMS2; accelerating out of corners makes the tyres scrub very much and the car just kind of pushes to the side as I exit the corner. It never feels precise. It's almost as if the aero downforce is not present at all.

    • @truthracer7638
      @truthracer7638 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MadMaxBLD It is a shame that happens. I just can't get into the sim. As I mentioned I have over close to 300 hours in PC2 and that's even with the not as good FFB as AMS2 has.
