Well the 1st spinoff Beyond Paradise has been a big hit. I love it. I think they'll nail this one as well! Can't wait for it to start! Just hoping it'll be available on BritBox since I'm in the U.S. lol I'm sure it will be tho
I mean technically it's a clone not a spinoff but I'm definitely anticipating it anyway :P ... Or maybe it's a spinoff of a spinoff (because she def wasn't in DIP)... either way, I don't care :D
@@kozinc streaming the first two episodes tells me, it indeed is a spinoff as a beloved former DiP character (spoiler alert) is mentioned and seen. I really hope to see more of him this season... 😂
I loved the first episode & this (to me) has the same quality & quirky nature of the location setting, with this being in an Australian small coastal town setting & characteristic. I'm looking forward to more episodes for something to watch on Sunday evenings on ABC TV (& later online with ABC iView). I don't watch much TV but a little humour as it was with Death in Paradies, & now in this makes for a little enjoyable TV viewing.
Hmm. The wife and I love Death in Paradise and we also enjoy Beyond Paradise almost as much. This trailer looks... interesting, at least. I hope it gets better and better as the series progresses.
Hmm, the trailer doesn't make it look especially good. Remembering of course that the trailer only shows the very BEST bits, so if the trailer doesn't look exciting, then it doesn't bode well. Also a tip for the promo writers… for gods' sake, please cure your habit of using the word 'iconic' to describe everything. In actual fact, according to the definition, very few things are iconic. Sydney Opera House? Yes. Sydney Harbour Bridge? Yes. Australia's coastal landscape? No!
If this is a spinoff of Death in Paradise, Star Trek was a spinoff of I Love Lucy. (Lucille Ball is the one who gave the go-ahead to make Star Trek at Desilu studios, after all.)
So what is the actual connection to this show and Death in Paradise? Don't get me wrong, it does look good but I am just confused. In Beyond Paradise it is Humphrey as the lead who was a detective in Death in Paradise but I dunno, this seems to be unrelated to the show and seems like it is just a show by the same creators. It is just odd to me that it is called a spin-off of Death in Paradise, unless we get some characters from Death in Paradise as cameos or guest stars
This feels more like a Beyond Paradise remake just in Australia instead of England, Beyond Paradise is another spin off of death in paradise, obviously Humphrey and Martha are in that from Death In Paradise & they went back to St Marie for an episode but besides that its basically a stand alone show & I can see the characters of Ester, Kelby and Margo reflected here. Although there might not be much of a link between this show and DiP I'll still watch it if the BBC show it here in the UK (I reckon it might end up being on U + Drama , a BBC commercial arm channel, like how they show Sister Boniface, a spin off of BBC One's Father Brown).
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a crossover at some point, even if just a brief cameo by someone from one series in another. On a chat show Kris Marshall was asked "Will there ever be one big case where all the detectives work together?". He said he liked the idea. Although obviously Ben Miller could only appear as a flashback, dream sequence or ghost as he did once before. The obvious episode title would be the one used when three NCIS teams worked together - Too Many Cooks.
She's also got DI Jack Mooney helping her clear name in the new Scotland Yard in the UK, I most definitely like to see him in person with her this season or next.
This was filmed in northern areas of Wollongong.. but Wollongong has a high crime rate and is nothing like this at all 🤦🏼♂️.. it’s feels like they just have quirky ideas of coastal areas and found a location to just force their lens onto it without any connection to the actual location itself 😥.. Wollongong (including Thirroul, Austinmer and Stanwell Tops) isn’t like this at all 🤦🏼♂️
if a crossover ever with the other paradise shows ever happen i want neville and florence to land in australia and meet mackenzie or failing that humphrey and martha on honeymoon
Tried watching this but gave up partway into episode 2. I found the main character way too annoying, self-centred, arrogant and bullish. But the final straw was when she said that coincidences don't happen (fact-check: they do).
If this is a spin off of Death In Paradise, the trailer doesn't show that. Oh are they really doing the "left at the wedding altar" thing? Ugh, such an awful, immature cliche. Let's see thought if they can pull it off....
Excited for this! Hate the colour temperature used though
So she returns to the beautiful place she left, solves murder, reconnects with her lost love…this is one candy cane factory short of a Hallmark movie.
Yeh, just needs him with a wife that died and bringing up a ten year old daughter on his own.
I love death in Paradise and I am hoping this will be a huge hit.
🤞😅 Fingers crossed! We're huge fans of DIP, let's hope this spinoff works.
Definitely.

the best programmes on BBC for me is
DIP,
BP,
And hopefully RTP
This looks like a great new spin off from death in paradise. Looking forward to watching it😊
Hopefully this shows up on Britbox.
Where are you going to be able to watch this show
I love the Aussi shows! ❤
Will we get this show in the UK? 🇬🇧please
Where to watch in US
Hopefully it's just the trailer that's bad 😅

Looking forward to it, liked her character in WATER RATS. hope some of those actors pop in for a bit of fun.
Looking forward to this and to supporting home grown/ made content 😁
Well, we will give it a decent go, and hope it stands up to the quality of the original.
Mackenzie Clarke reminds me very much of Richard Poole!

I’m blind but I can’t wait to listen to this show! Where am I
Filmed on the south coast of N.S.W. Northern beaches of Wollongong.
Worth a look.
Will this be available to watch in the UK?
It's on now - don't rush.
Great I love this programme

wow you sound like a fun person to be around
So when will we be able to see this in the United States

Reminds me to catch up on death in paradise and beyond paradise latest seasons thanks for the reminder lol
Looks good!

I suspect we will find out she worked with Jack or someone in the first episode.
Or she worked with the new DI and turned down Saint Marie and he was sent there instead and then got banished to Aussieland
@@shaunmcilroy spoiler alert, good guess she's been working with DI Jack Mooney in the new Scotland Yard to help clear her name in the UK.

@@DEEJAYWAL streaming the first two episodes, there seems to be one (spoiler alert) to Death in Paradise as a former DiP is seen and mentioned. 😂
I'm looking forward to it. Ever since announced I've been getting a Brokenwood Mysteries vibes, which isn't a bad thing
Love love love Brokenwood..
Agreed. I LOVE DiP and BW. I really hope Gina in BW finally gets a man before it ends!
Looking forward to it
I'm hoping the show will be on BritBox since I'm in the U.S.
Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise are tho. So I don't see why this wouldn't be.
Ohhh, looks good!
Looks like they are trying for a blend of Death in Paradise and SeaChange.
I like a female detective for the Death in Paradise series overall, set in Australia! Really reaching out! 😁
Only recognised two out of the cast 😱
In what way is this a spin off?
Looking forward to this! I love Death in paradise and beyond paradise just wo der how long we ha ve to wait for it to show in Eire❤
Just looks like they are milking DIP and this doesn’t look it’s related to the show in anyway
Spoiler alert, there's a former DiP character seen and mentioned in the first two episodes. 😂☺️
Well it looks good 👍 it be nice to have something to watch besides reality, singing .
So she’s got the wit of Richard but the endurance of Camille
She's also got DI Jack Mooney helping her clear name in the new Scotland Yard in the UK, I most definitely like to see him in person with her this season or next.
i home the series does well
I am probably the only person that recognized Rachel Goldstein from Water Rats, well Catherine McClements who played that character anyways
Is this a death in paradise spinoff or an American version?
More like a spinoff in Australia at an actual location with some connections to the main DiP tv show... spoiler alert!
@@Roger709Bautista14 nice
Andy Barrett and Mia from H and A 💪🏽
Great series. A different take on the original series.
I suppose if there was nothing else on.......
Can't wait for it! Love the series, and spin off! Can't wait to see what they do with this one!
This looks terrible!!! 😂
This feels like I went through to a different universe and Death In Paradise has an entire different cast.
These Women lead cops show and show in general are getting a little out of hand!
Hope it’s good, but why did they need to make it a copy of the BBC show, as in the ticks, the little odd things…
Hope it shows on bbc in the uk.
No thanks

first episode what a flop! i'll watch a few more to see if it picks up.
Everyone turned white!
No French accents either!
Is this a parody? If so, it’s pretty clever. If this is a real show….good god.
This is going to be crap I hate it when other countries copy british shows
This looks awful
yes it does
Watched the first episode last night and it was boring and crap
Uk death in paradise is a million times better
looks so bad
this look good
if a crossover ever with the other paradise shows ever happen i want neville and florence to land in australia and meet mackenzie or failing that humphrey and martha on honeymoon

It's OK as a spin off but no where as good as the original series.
looks terrible
We'll see. Beyond Paradise was a big disappointment. Fingers crossed for 'Return'.
