It's weird how this seems like it could be a plot for an anime. I haven't seen the show, although this show sounds wild (hiring interns?), so I don't know the full scope of Lelush on camera but from what was presented in this video he seems like a cool guy. He towed the line between being very honest without being very rude, working hard yet also wanting to be eliminated. Fascinating video.

I truly bad for Lelush and I think he didn't want to stand out, but just wanted to go home. But he got more popular for that and people found it funny and he stood out.
I find it extremely twisted he was literally PLEADING with the viewers to be free and struggling and everyone was like "KINGGG I LOVE HIM!! HE'S MISERABLE BUT LET'S KEEP HIM HERE". That's some dystopian/Hunger Games type mess.
It's not as bad as you think, as first he thought people voted for him as a joke, but when he found out people voted for him because they were his fans and wanted to see more of him he said he'll hang on until the finals but was unhappy because he didn't think he'll actually rank so high. It gave him good publicity and his business is quite good now.
Damnnn it wasnt that bad he was cool with going to the finals, just not to debut. Hell even afterwards he told one of his friends he missed being there (minus the singing and dancing part)
It wasn't that bad, he later came to an agreement with his fans to go to the finals and then they stop voting for him. The fans also knew how c-entertainment works and that he won't get any jobs(and they wanted him yo become a model, because it's his dream)if he is out too soon. Although I must say it all started as a joke, later it was just a genuine way to help him have a future.
He did make the mistake of signing the contract to become a contestant on that show. No one forced him to go on it, he agreed to be on it by signing that contract. It is his legal responsibility to honour the contract. I do feel bad for him, but he really got himself into this situation due to his own underestimation of his own popularity and charisma. This has taught him the lesson of not signing employment contracts without thinking through it.
@@queenning28 apparently he refused like twice, but they kept insisting. If its true then tbh there was no other option or else they would keep pestering him
@@orimandel Lelush just doesn’t want to be in a boy group or an idol his fans knows that, but he needs the popularity for his modeling career, he himself said that no one would hate popularity. And through the shows he gain so many popularity and got numerous chance for shooting ads and modeling works. One of the cameraman for the shooting said that he was afraid that Lelush wouldn’t like the jobs, but turns out he is doing very good dedicated himself into it. So stop making the whole thing a unfortunate for him. He met so many friends and a chance for his dream career through the show, even himself is thankful for it. If his fans truly not respect his decision, he would be debuting now. 🙄
@@orimandel lets just assume that his fans would keep voting for him, there still no way he can debut.all his fans want is he can be famous enough to achieve his dream but without debut as a group.this show is over now,he got so many chances, and those opportunities makes his actual dream getting closer to him.
They for real treated him like an anime protagonist (kinda weird considering his name is eerily similar to a character), trapping him in a place he didn't wanna be and when he actively wants to leave and cry for help the blind public reward the captors. You can't write this stuff; humanity is its own fanfiction.
Lalush is the type of classmate that will intentionally not answer the quiz correctly to fail but still end up getting the highest score in the entire class.
Lelush: "I don't like my job but I can't leave" The entirety of China: "we don't like our jobs either and this is the first time we can stop someone from leaving a job they hate! Stay longer King!"
he also made his hair look greasy on purpose to try and look unappealing, and chose the most cringe and nonsense Russian song ever lol) jackpot has become a new hit in Russia because of Lelush)
I feel like this whole “anyone will do” selection process made for such an interesting and diverse season. Instead of idol camp, it was more like entertainment camp where young interns/trainees typically in front of or behind the camera got to network and collaborate. Thus, we essentially got a peek at how the next generation of entertainment operates as a whole, and I love it. I really hope they or some new show will do something like this again (but maybe with more willing participants next time 😂).
Yeah, and the intern actually found his passion after this show. And lop they also recruited a pro gamer, whose fans decides not to vote for him so he can quickly come back n play games
his “i don’t want to be here” attitude is what made him so noticeable, i didn’t watch the show but i can’t deny that just through this video alone i found him hilarious so i could see why people voted for him
His personality on the show was so much like the guy in every anime that doesn't care about the girl, that everyone watching is just fallin all over for.
The way Lelush, a Russian guy, was teaching Mandarin Chinese to two Japanese men reminds me of how my dad, a Georgian, used to teach English to a Chinese kid...without actually knowing Chinese. Y’all, how do these teachers even do it...
If we take into account that according to the level of tests, Lelouch has the right to teach Chinese, speaks English, has basic knowledge of Korean. And his old friend is Japanese (because of which he got on the show), then we can assume that he may also have some knowledge of Japanese..
For anyone confused, The reason why fans kept voting for him is because they want to see him longer in the show. He is entertaining to watch (relatable to the regular people working too) and is a nice considerate man, so everyone kept him in the show but no one will actually debut him x'D of course, right before the final vote his fanclub send out a statement saying they would stop voting for him to make sure he doesnt debut so they can respect his wish :)

My fav video of him is him saying 'it will be over in a couple of weeks. Its fckn cringe, I wonder what they’ll air on tv' on the phone in russian but I guess every version of subtitles missed the funniest part

honestly, i don’t blame him for not wanting to go on chuang. just look at lana. she was torn to shreds when she was announced to be a contestant of chuang 2020.
Actually most of the backlash against non asian KPOP (or in this case CPOP) stars comes from OUTSIDE of Asia. For the most part people within Asia are usually happy that westerners even take an interest in our culture, and tend to embrace these westerners with open arms, whereas people in the west tend to view these westerners as appropriating Asian culture/ colonizing Asian pop. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with westerners debuting in Asian countries (especially if they take the time to learn the language like Lana or Lelush), but I can see where people in the west are coming from
I think part of the backlash against Lana was that her team had already been playing her up as "well, she's TECHNICALLY Asian!" before she was announced as a contestant, so when that news broke a lot of people felt like it was an attention-grab and not her actually challenging herself.
Fans never actually intended to debut him we just voted for him enough to get into the final so that he could fulfill his dream of being a model which has actually worked out because he currently has deals with multiple brands. For the last elimination the reason he ranked at 10 was because the fan base poured in every last penny into voting for him before closing all donations needed to vote, sort of like one final push, so for the period between the last elimination and the finals we didn't vote for him at all. Regarding people saying that we should of let him leave earlier, lelush himself said he was okay with making it to the finals as long as he didn't debut when we asked him about it and said he trusted us👍
Ty for doing that! Am not anyone's fan but i laughed hard watching all of this! So thanks for ensuring this story continued for as long as possible. & lelush was right to trust his fans. Well played!
@@nothisis Lelush has been doing extremely well after the show. He's gotten modelling jobs with major brands and has appeared on a number of TV shows. Probably the most successful contestant from this season despite not actually making it to the final band!
After graduating from Chuang2021, Lelush works hard every day. He participates in popular TV shows (Happy Camp, Crazy Magic), acts in promo videos that appear almost every day, and in photo shoots of fashion magazines (Fendi, Madame Figaro, Elle, Cosmopolitan). He has more followers on Weibo (3.6 million) than all other Chuang trainees. Big chut Lelouch Super Talk on Weibo has 4 billion views. Over the past thirty days, he has been in the top 10 of Weibo's hot search 19 times. Sometimes it was enough for him to just walk along the street, so that hundreds of videos appeared on the network. He has now returned to Hainan Island (haha) to film in the TV series Perfect Summer, and on June 13 he will sing at the Shanghai Ocean Wave Festival

the chinese netizens find lelush funny because they saw the resemblance of themselves (as workers or 打工人) in lelush--doing things they don't like but have to because of life, trying to escape all the unnecessary assignments, surfing the web all day instead of working etc. lelush fans are also not pressured to vote in a million polls like fans of other candidates because they are not trying to debut lelush; they are only here for the memes. it's like escaping the current fan culture where people stress over streaming, voting, buying merch, and debuting their idol. that's why lelush is so popular. he doesn't have a die-hard fanbase but he has what's called 路人缘, where he's liked by the general public and the general public do not have to invest in the show and in lelush obsessively or intensely. hope what i said make sense; it's more than "oh people want to torment lelush" lol
Wow this is a very interesting and opening insights! Thanks it kinda changed my mind haha I thought they were just kinda trolling him you know but the relation of culture, their lives and how it mirrors that of lelush makes a lot of sense
One of my Chinese friends said that (adding to reasons you've mentioned) another major reason was that Lelush was different in about everything. Basically all competitors are almost like clones in sense of drive, attitude, desire to succeed at whatever cost, looking the same, acting the same etc., as if they were made in the same factory, while Lelush's unorthodox attitude "I don't even want to be here" and no desire to succeed whatsoever, combined with other reasons you've mentioned, became like a breath of fresh air in otherwise very stale show, therefore tons of people voted for him as they didn't wanted him to leave due to him being the most "alive" competitor. Additionally, if I got this right, apparently editors working there didn't speak Russian, therefore when he was using strong profanity in Russian (when he was thinking aloud about his situation in his native Russian), it wasn't censored, therefore Chinese who knew Russian language were very amused by that.
It must've been so disheartening for all the eliminated contestants who actually WANTED to debut to be forced to leave while someone who was actively trying to get himself eliminated was ranked higher than them and forced to continue.
If you’re wandering, in russia now everyone know him because he became a meme. He was hopping that anyone wouldn’t notice him there but the things went badly for him so now he’s kinda popular in russia as well
I’m not from Russia, but I speak Russian and I’m in Russian segment of internet. No one ever cared about him. Was just a fun news. I’ve heard about him, since I live in China
okay but just wanted to say mans Lelush actually worked v hard to make sure he didn't bring his team down every stage he did even though he didn't want to be an idol 😭
@@vufcyfxcyyfccfugvi7466 well, there is no rule forbidding to call Vladislav Slava, it is used too. The only Stanislav I know is called Stas. He's actually doing more tv shows than any other guys from the shows and he still has his personality, which made the shows super funny....he was the reason that i found out about the show because his reaction went viral.
that's the thing though, when you tell people not to do something, they wanna do it even more. I call it the " Red Button syndrome " lol and I think he should've just done purposefully bad and idk intentionally disrespected some people to get him eliminated faster. Hope he's okay now though.
I mean he couldn’t be disrespectful. Bc he has other jobs. It would’ve looked bad for him. So he had to keep it professional. At least he tried to help his teammates & became more popular. That helps out with his other jobs 😊
Eh, on the other hand, I like that he didn't screw up his teammates chances just because he didn't want to debut. Plus, if he needlessly made enemies by being an ass, then he might not have found good modeling work because those industries are all about WHO you know, not WHAT you know
I honestly loved how Lelush melded harsh honesty with respect for his teammates :) In that situation he brought reality to a usually very scripted and powdered TV show
i'm an avid cpop fan and have been following idols for a long time. i also have been following these survival shows since the first one (idol producer. stan zhangjing and yanjun lmao) they kept lelush not just because it's entertaining but because it will help him in his career. most of these trainees who get eliminated halfway usually disappear into thin air. the ones who are on the top are the only ones who get the *opportunities* so they were really set on keeping him on the show and even wanted to put him first place at some point. the only reason lelush didn't want to be voted half the show was because he thinks these people were just trolls who were voting for him for laughs. as everyone was saying, by the middle of the show, he stopped telling these people to "stop voting for me" but instead told them he'd stay up till the finals for them and that he appreciates all the support they gave him. if you also follow lelush, his fans are pretty respectful. not once did i see any of them mob him when they see him / follow him on his schedules lol plus lelush is a very laid back man, it's just hard for people to not like someone as relatable as him!
He was able to talk to the fans just before the final. Only then did he hear assurances that they were not going to vote for him to join the group. He promised to do well in the final and stay in sight...don't disappear. Everyone kept their promises. In 20 days after the show, he visited several cities participating in 14 projects (filming, advertising, broadcasts, interviews)
I love that he's been getting recognition after the show because I really like Lelush, but it breaks my heart when people only remember him as the guy who's "being lazy/slacking" without talking too much of the details :( (for anyone interested, this is just some more info from a person who's been kinda following his news since ep 1) For sure, he didnt want to debut as an idol and only did the bare minimum, but he knows its the dream of his friends. He didn't want to drag his teammates down for each of the performances, so he would always work hard to properly learn and practice, even if he was reluctant to. Also throughout the show, he made so many friends, which contrasts the whole "lone ranger" narrative they tried to give him in the beginning. As for the people voting him to the finals, his hyh wanted him to get as much exposure to the public as possible so that once he gets out of the show, he can have an easier time finding job opportunities. While some may have continued to vote, majority of his fans were in mutual agreement that they would stop voting for him after he passed the elimination round to go to the finals, and they really did stop (ex. stop organizing fundraisers). When interacting with fans while Chuang was still airing, he mentioned that he was very surprised but thankful that there were so many people supporting him. He would also reassure his fans that he would still be around and possibly perform even after Chuang. As always, we can't tell for sure what he is truly thinking, but based on his interactions with fans on social media, he did appreciate them for being there for him. I guess some good things came out of it though - a lot of the trainees are good friends with him (and they often interact with him on sns like douyin, weibo, instagram), he gets to go on his strolls around China lol, he's getting some jobs in China right now (recently, he did a photoshoot/cf (?) for a mobile game, AFK Arena), and a lot of fans and the general public really like him. People who have worked with him said he can be shy but is very professional :) so he's been making good impressions on people. I'm really glad your video touched on topics most 'news articles' usually don't focus on when talking about Lelush's story, like him actually trying and the hyh collectively deciding to stop voting.
Thank you for describing the situation in detail. It's a shame that so many people talk about his laziness, and this is not true. It was clear that he was trying, worried about his friends leaving, training, performing, consistently explaining his position. He was confused at first, when he did not understand why the audience voted for him. HE was annoyed and stressed, thinking that he was getting a high rank undeservedly in the middle of the show. But after talking to the fans before the final, he seems to have calmed down. In the final, he looked like a winner!
@@kati3514 yup Alex answered ur q! He also has douyin (either search his chinese name or Lelush), and he might have tik tok with the same @bogatcio username but idk if its really him xD
This is actually the best video I've ever seen someone explaining about lelush. All other video I've ever seen discussing about him are literally full of BS. No research at all and believe with those news outlet. But this is really do a great job explaining lelush. Although 1 thing I want to point out at he doesn't purposely slacking off for group performance he still practice for group performance as to not drag his teammates down but eventually in the end you explain it to the viewers so I like it as you didn't slandering him nor discredit his hardwork. I hope other can doing atleast a research before posting something like what you did
What makes cnets loves him so much is even though he wanted to go home and doesn't want to be an idol, he always do his best in practice and performed because he respected his friend's dream and didn't want to dragged anyone down
Thats where he got his name from he’s a code geass fan he said he didnt want to use his real name because he knew he was gonna embarass himself in the show since he couldnt dance or sing so he didnt want to reveal his private information
Hello, Russian viewer here. You did a good job pronouncing his Russian name and Vladivostok (tho the stress is originally on the last syllable) Love your videos, you always dig so much into the staff you investigate)
omg lelush whole story about from moving to china to this chuang 2021 process should’ve made into 12 episodes anime series like other have said this would be totally awesome
What’s I’m mainly impressed by is his resume like he’s had so many interesting jobs then WHAM competed on a Chinese idol show I sound like my teachers but if I were an employer, I’d hire him
He wanted to leave everytime, he felt bad because he thought his position were more deserved by other who wanted to achieve this idol dream. But in every performance, he gave his best so that his teammates won't suffer because of him, that's why cfans were so supportive to him. And now he is finally off from work!!!!
0:20 so true. I feel so horrible for the underrated artists that don't get the fame they deserve! I try to support as many as I can and find interest in. Like laboum, brave girls (I stanned them way before they were viral),ukiss, boys republic, history, boyfriend,up10tion etc etc. So many that I wish I could help and save
Sometimes at the show Lelush expressed that he wants to pursue his model career (which fits him really well I think) so for this chuang wasn't actually that bad. He gained a lot of fans (and a lot of followers on Instagram definitely can help in the model industry) but I think a lot of fans already planned not to vote for him in finals, because like he said himself: "It's one thing to vote for him to see him every week in the show, but being an Idol is another thing" and there were so many people who wanted to be in the group and were capable. Into1 is an amazing group. (With Oscar and Caelen she would have been perfect but there were no 13 seats)
Feel bad for the dude, but at least he still respected everyone and worked hard for his teammates. If he didn't this would have turned out very different.
this makes me wanna watch chuang now lmaoooo also i give props for chuang for being transparent about the whole thing. this reminds me of youth with you 2's editing where it's mostly wholesome stuff. (i only watched youth with you 2 so far, nothing else). if lelush was in korea's produce 101, i feel like he might have been evil edited or sumn
you should watch it! :) ive watched a few of the ywy + produce series and this was my first chuang season, and its probably my fav season. Everyone is so wholesome and friendly, and even though the show is over, so many of them still regularly hang out everyday! And so many talented trainees. Usually i only have 5 to 7 picks for the group, but this year, i rooted for a good 20 of them even though there are only 11 spots :( And they provided us with so much extra content this year compared to other years: - vlogs every week (there are a total of 99 I believe) - "Are you a Werewolf", a variety show of the trainees playing mafia and other fun themed games around the island, which was a massive theme park/resort - dorm diaries that show their life in the dorms - practice room which showed more of how they prepared for each performance
Oooohhh I highly recommend it if you want something fun to watch! It has a lot of crackhead trainees and the challenges are super fun. Plus the international trainees bring something special to add to the chaos.
A true dichotomy of being both super lucky and unlucky. I ended up havinig a soft spot for this guy by the end of the video!! I can see why he was so well-liked 😂 glad his fans respected his desire to not be an idol. Wishing the best for Lelush!
What a slap in the face for the trainees who wanted to be there lol and what a shame that seeing Lalush on this show still won't change the toxic work culture, no matter how funny and relatable it is to see.
It’s funny cuz when trainees get eliminated their fans blame lelush saying “why is lelush taking up a debut spot when he doesn’t even want to be there” and then lelush’s supporters will reply with “why is your fave taking up lelush’s elimination spot?”
I’ve only watched two Chinese idol survival shows but it’s clear that the netizens vote for the outlandish personalities. I would too because they’re interesting and unique and make you want to stan them more

I do feel bad for him, but he really got himself into this situation due to his own underestimation of his own popularity and charisma.
This has taught him the lesson of not signing employment contracts without thinking through it.

I feel like this whole “anyone will do” selection process made for such an interesting and diverse season. Thus, we essentially got a peek at how the next generation of entertainment operates as a whole, and I love it. I really hope they or some new show will do something like this again (but maybe with more willing participants next time 😂).

For anyone confused, The reason why fans kept voting for him is because they want to see him longer in the show. honestly, i don’t blame him for not wanting to go on chuang. just look at lana. she was torn to shreds when she was announced to be a contestant of chuang 2020.
I think he is Tatar as well so they have something else in common lol
@@ploopy678 that’s what i mean, a lot of westerners bullied lana and the white chuang 2021 contestants.

Regarding people saying that we should of let him leave earlier, lelush himself said he was okay with making it to the finals as long as he didn't debut when we asked him about it and said he trusted us👍

the chinese netizens find lelush funny because they saw the resemblance of themselves (as workers or 打工人) in lelush--doing things they don't like but have to because of life, trying to escape all the unnecessary assignments, surfing the web all day instead of working etc. lelush fans are also not pressured to vote in a million polls like fans of other candidates because they are not trying to debut lelush; they are only here for the memes. it's like escaping the current fan culture where people stress over streaming, voting, buying merch, and debuting their idol. that's why lelush is so popular. he doesn't have a die-hard fanbase but he has what's called 路人缘, where he's liked by the general public and the general public do not have to invest in the show and in lelush obsessively or intensely. hope what i said make sense; it's more than "oh people want to torment lelush" lol

Ty, i think i understood what u meant
this describes my thoughts exactly !
Additionally, if I got this right, apparently editors working there didn't speak Russian, therefore when he was using strong profanity in Russian (when he was thinking aloud about his situation in his native Russian), it wasn't censored, therefore Chinese who knew Russian language were very amused by that.
oh man you’re right, it IS absurd LOL. i lost my mind when you said “a Russian man teaching two Japanese guys Chinese” 😆 💀

Even more: ...using English)
I'm going to wait for a documentary about his life, because that's gonna be the most interesting thing i'll be watching since birth.
It must've been so disheartening for all the eliminated contestants who actually WANTED to debut to be forced to leave while someone who was actively trying to get himself eliminated was ranked higher than them and forced to continue.

they kept lelush not just because it's entertaining but because it will help him in his career. most of these trainees who get eliminated halfway usually disappear into thin air. the ones who are on the top are the only ones who get the *opportunities* so they were really set on keeping him on the show and even wanted to put him first place at some point.
the only reason lelush didn't want to be voted half the show was because he thinks these people were just trolls who were voting for him for laughs. as everyone was saying, by the middle of the show, he stopped telling these people to "stop voting for me" but instead told them he'd stay up till the finals for them and that he appreciates all the support they gave him.
if you also follow lelush, his fans are pretty respectful. not once did i see any of them mob him when they see him / follow him on his schedules lol
plus lelush is a very laid back man, it's just hard for people to not like someone as relatable as him!
This guy literally looks like an anime character. This video can be turned into an comedy anime and I would definitely watch it 🤩
When lelush called his family and told them that he'll be home soon, then stayed because the fans voted for him. He was so disappointed lmaoo
I love that he's been getting recognition after the show because I really like Lelush, but it breaks my heart when people only remember him as the guy who's "being lazy/slacking" without talking too much of the details :(
(for anyone interested, this is just some more info from a person who's been kinda following his news since ep 1) For sure, he didnt want to debut as an idol and only did the bare minimum, but he knows its the dream of his friends.

- vlogs every week (there are a total of 99 I believe)
- "Are you a Werewolf", a variety show of the trainees playing mafia and other fun themed games around the island, which was a massive theme park/resort
- dorm diaries that show their life in the dorms
- practice room which showed more of how they prepared for each performance
Oooohhh I highly recommend it if you want something fun to watch! It has a lot of crackhead trainees and the challenges are super fun. Plus the international trainees bring something special to add to the chaos.
I woud recommend it. Its all fun and chill... *Until your top pick gets rigged out* but oh well
A true dichotomy of being both super lucky and unlucky. I ended up havinig a soft spot for this guy by the end of the video!! I can see why he was so well-liked 😂 glad his fans respected his desire to not be an idol. Wishing the best for Lelush!
Lelush luckily didn't get into INTO1
even his team members and teachers are secretly his fan.
I never keep up with Chuang or Youth With You as much as I should. This is insane.
@@dibidibidii4898 askskskamsj they did? Damn his fand are on another level
he don't want to be here but seem like they persuade him to be on the show and he accidentally signed the contract without knowing the hefty fined lol
skill issue on their part tbh
after chuang ended everyone was like “lelush finally got off work”
I’ve only watched two Chinese idol survival shows but it’s clear that the netizens vote for the outlandish personalities. I would too because they’re interesting and unique and make you want to stan them more
