Thanks for doing this Chuck. I was one of the hunkerers when Stan was asking for parking volunteers. I spent some quality time with him up in Fossil during the total eclipse that passed right through his neck of the woods. Stand up guy. I loved hearing his stories about his logging days. He said the hardest thing about logging was getting out of the truck in the morning. After you did that the rest was easy. Rest well Don. Tom
My sincerest condolences to Don's family and to you Chuck on the loss of your friend. I watched all of Don's videos back when he was doing them and he came across as a great guy.
Rest in peace Don. Don was one of my first subscriptions on TH-cam and I always looked forwards to when he posted a video. Thank you Don from Biggleswade UK
Thank you very much for your very kind words. Dad would have something “snarky” to say if he watched your video. Dad loved his machine shop but it was nothing compared to the friends he made and amazing people he met through this community. What a blessing to wake up and see your video. Thank you!! God bless you all!!!
I made a video about a 4 foot hydraulic chainsaw just because I figured Don would want to see it action. His comment was something like, that's a mighty big parting tool for your lathe. :)
That is awesome he is my dad's first cousin just got a message today that he passed he would pop in once in awhile as I was growing up.. I talked to him a bit ago he said he was battling cancer he will be missed
I never got to meet Don, but I sure enjoyed his videos. A real down-to-earth guy. Thanks for making the video Chuck sorry for the loss of your friend. RIP….Don
I am sorry to hear about your friend Don passing away. I pray that he didn't suffer at the end and pray that Our Lord Jesus be with his family to comfort them. We're all getting older; I turned 68 years old this August and even though I never met him I will see him some day.
Thanks for letting us know Chuck. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to spend some time with him a number of years back. He was a good man and may God be with his family at this time.
Chuck, Thanks for doing this video! Don and I have been friends since our early TH-cam Days, he was huge supporter of all us creators and always left great comments! He was a very good man and will be missed very much.
Don was such a great guy! He always made me feel so welcome in the community but also such a great impact on the community as a whole. He will be missed.
Thanks Chuck! Don was a great guy! Pre-covid, he came over to visit C&L Custom Tooling here in Portland. He stopped by for a shop visit, then we both went down to C&L. I hadn't talked to him in a few years, now I wish I had. :( We used to talk pretty often about projects he was working on. It's sad that we lost another good one. -Mike
Thanks Chuck for sharing this. I had not heard this until I saw your video. I got to meet Don a few times at the Bash and really enjoyed his presence there. I have a couple of those stickers from him on my sticker board in the shop. They will mean even more to me now!
Hi Chuck ! I'm so sorry to hear that Don passed away ! I once talked to him when he was making a sort of cage inside his truck ... and I wondered 🙂! Then he told me he was a sort of local sheriff - we don't know this here in Denmark. He too once wanted to change his logo ... and again I wondered ... and told him that his logo was just right as it is and couldn't be better ! ... and I see he kept it on the gift for you ! Yeah, I loved too to see his videos and surely will mis them ! Best on your journey over there, Don. Keld from Denmark
I got to meet Don over at the Redmond Oregon swapmeet one year. He mentioned in one of his videos that he had gone the year before. Well I also had gone that year. So as it was getting around for the swap meet again, I messaged Don to see if he would be attending? Don messaged me and included his phone number so we could meet at the fair grounds, which we did. We had a very nice chat. He was a great guy, and a very good TH-cam creator. I watched about all of them. I'm so sorry for his family loss!
Oh no. I did not know he was sick. Back in the day when he had a channel I would watch his videos. I remember him leaving comments on my videos once I got my channel going. You are going to be missed Don!
Thank you, Chuck! Don was a dear friend and an amazing guy. Loved God, his family, poker, and shooting the sh**! He was like the father my dad could never be. Rest in piece dear friend!
Sadly not heard about him before but being such a good friend to You, he was a good guy. He's fine now, exploring the opportunities from there. Light a candle for him and let Your thoughts talk to him. He sees You and he hears You! Believe me!

Don said "It's not perfect, but I'm not taking it to the fair". I have repeated that to myself and others many times. RIP Don.
