i know it's easy not to believe these people, but all i keep thinking is if something that traumatic happened to me and absolutely NOBODY believed me, i would be devastated
i honestly think all alien abduction stories (which aren't made up) are a result of trauma. they did that once in the show Criminal Minds. a woman got abducted by a serial killer and kept in his vehicle, but due to the stress and trauma of the situation, she believed it was an alien that took her, and the vehicle was a spaceship. that's why i avoid mocking people who tell these stories, even if i don't believe it.

What I got from the failed TV polygraph was that since the government is notorious for covering shit like this up, they could have influenced him to take a "Live" polygraph test and say that he failed it even if he did or didn't just to write it off to the public that it's fake.
Yeah, that's why polygraphs are such a shitty method of figuring out if someone is telling the truth or not. I'm surprised police still use it when even the creator of the machine himself said its so faulty he wished he'd never made itm
They are used by the fbi at times. The fbi use a polygraph system which is extremely accurate conducted by a very experienced professional. Instead of just saying if they are telling the truth or not a rating is given on the stableness of the test subject and the accuracy of their answers, you are right however that they are not used in common law suits.

Honestly, I have no idea what I think when it comes to aliens. When you think about it, out of the thousands of planets that are no doubt out there, it seems unlikely that only Earth was capable of supporting life. With that being said, though, any extraterrestrial life form is, by definition, an alien. The question is, what kind of life forms are they? Are they microbial? Animal-like? Intelligent? Do they have humanoid appearances? Are they even capable of forming civilisations? Are they even technologically advanced enough to reach Earth, or do what these people are claiming they can? After all, the extraterrestrial life forms will not necessarily have evolved in such a way that they’re even remotely similar to anything on Earth. Simply put, I believe that there are extraterrestrial life forms out there, but what type of aliens they are remains to be seen.
Lunar1moon I don't think time could go faster for them. It's just a matter of how long their days and sleep cycles are. It's more likely that their civilization would be much older than our own. That, or they have much greater intelligence. Then again, I know very little about this sort of thing.
You and the current 336 other like minded morons won’t get within 19miles of grounds toolshed where they keep the weed eaters, rakes and shovels at Area 51 😅😂🤣
I undersrand your sentiment, but you should know that we only have these amazing episodes because of the time and effort of the staff and crew behind this. If they uploaded more often, we may have to compromise with lower quality and poorly researched episodes.
A.. AURORA BOREALIS? At this time of the day!? in this part of the country,!? localized entirely in this SPACESHIP?! ".....yes!" MAY I SEE IT? "... Why not!" -abduction: complete-
My boss knew Travis and his family younger. They were kind of known as the hicks of the town, she said Travis isn’t the person to be able to make this up off the top of his head. Food for thought.
One of the arguments used as to why there aren't a lot of honest alien sightings is because they wipe our minds. Now, just imagine one of the aliens watching this and being like: "Dammit, Billy! You hAd OnE jOb!"
About the plane story: If he's flying under a thick patch of clouds, very close to the surface on a dark night, it's easy to see how he could have mistaken the lights of his own plane as another aircraft. In my opinion, it explains everything he went through. He was inexperienced so entirely possible, he was obsessed with UFOs, the constant hovering, the return of the 'craft' sometime later (flew out from one cloud cover, under a clear sky for some time, and under a different cloud cover and the same thing happened). The scraping metal could have easily been a faulty engine or a gazillion other things. His plane could have crashed into the ocean, or maybe he lost contact and THEN the plane crashed in a remote area where they wouldn't look for him. I'll take any of those before "aliens are roaming around putting stuff in people's holes" like cmon. We'd be obliterated right now if a civilization capable of interstellar travel came to us. They would never be scared of a planet-bound lifeform. I'm almost 100% sure there's life out there. But have they visited us to play doll with us? Meh.
I agree with everything up until you say we'd be obliterated. Anything smarter than us surely understands that intelligent life is interesting, just like how we find crows and octopi interesting, and if they have the capabilities they do have, the earth is nothing but a zoo who's most impactful inhabitants have finally figured out enough about the universe to make nukes and play with fundamental forces a little. say we get to where we can travel to planets and across the universe trivially. why would we destroy all the new, fascinating stuff out there if it cant really bother us anyways because we can just warp out whenever?
So to counter what Shane was saying about the guy being weirdly focused on the "peoples" faces and how they have no blemishes or freckles, etc. I believe the guy (Trevor) was experiencing something called "the Uncanny Valley" where your brain can process that something is very close to looking or acting like a human, but something still doesn't feel quite right. My theory is those were the ones in disguise as humans. Pretty creepy to think about, actually
polygraphs are about the most unreliable form of evidence, if this guy was on a game show, he may have had stage fright, and polygraphs use heart rate and pulse tonhelp determine a lie from the truth, so if this guy had stage fright and his heart was racing like crazy, its VERY likely that is the reasoning behind the polygraph being false, the fact that the official polygraph showed he was telling the truth further supports this
Gibbypastrami I have bad anxiety and usually a higher than normal heart rate. Even if I told the absolute truth, I'll fail a lie detector in a heartbeat (pun intended) if that is how they judge the results.
travis has done like 5 polygraphs. he passed all of them except for the one on TV, which is suspicious to say the least. also, he did try and talk to the entities that looked like people, they just ignored him
a guy who put people through a woodchipper passed 3 polygraphs. Ted Bundy passed the polygraph. In the Mark Christie case, he passed the polygraph and the innocent man failed it. Several spies have been known to pass the polygraph. It's really quite easy to beat the polygraph, which is why it isn't admissible as evidence in courts of law. Also, if a polygraph comes back inconclusive police count that as a failure yet in the Walton case all of the inconclusives are portrayed as "well they didn't fail it so it's probably true".
@@emilybarclay8831 even then, the fact that the story from him and his friends hasn’t changed and has stayed consistent with the others makes me believe. If it was a hoax, you’d think that their stories would change and become different over time and not line up at all.
The only alien case that made me scared was the one about the fourth species, that wouldn't have scared me until I realized that the movie is based of real people and real cases, before I realized that I was like hey why did they ad the scenes where it looks like it has been recorded from a 90's security camera and then I realized what was happening and was like oh shit
Every time Ryan pulls the ol' switcheroo of "credible" evidence I just like to picture him as a defense lawyer presenting this fabulous case full of information that appears to clear his client, the jury is ready to acquit, and then... "...the defense rests with this final piece of evidence which is a video of my client committing the murder and here is his signed confession which was notarized the day of the crime." Hahaha
If there is the possibility of intelligent life, I would assume that they would have to have evolved to look at least slightly humanoid. Earth is extremely unique in its ability to support life. If another planet is capable of doing the same, I would assume it would have to have mostly the same environmental aspects. However, the possibilities that the species would be more advanced than humans or have undergone a different evolutionary path still stand.

i honestly think all alien abduction stories (which aren't made up) are a result of trauma. they did that once in the show Criminal Minds. a woman got abducted by a serial killer and kept in his vehicle, but due to the stress and trauma of the situation, she believed it was an alien that took her, and the vehicle was a spaceship. that's why i avoid mocking people who tell these stories, even if i don't believe it.

Travis being nervous on tv could make him fail a polygraph. Being nervous in general can make anyone fail a polygraph
I don't think polygraphs are admissible in court for that very reason.
OTOH, being convinced that "it was aliens" will likely let you pass the polygraph-test, but that still doesn't mean that it's what really happened.

Jordan Davis There are 8 planets *in our solar system.* Beyond our solar system, there are many more. Those are the planets I’m talking about.

Sarah Johnston hey we have the same last name
Emma Johnston Indeed. I'm not overly proud of our clan history, though.
Lunar1moon I don't think time could go faster for them. It's just a matter of how long their days and sleep cycles are. It's more likely that their civilization would be much older than our own. That, or they have much greater intelligence. Then again, I know very little about this sort of thing.

Anything smarter than us surely understands that intelligent life is interesting, just like how we find crows and octopi interesting, and if they have the capabilities they do have, the earth is nothing but a zoo who's most impactful inhabitants have finally figured out enough about the universe to make nukes and play with fundamental forces a little. say we get to where we can travel to planets and across the universe trivially. why would we destroy all the new, fascinating stuff out there if it cant really bother us anyways because we can just warp out whenever?

polygraphs are about the most unreliable form of evidence, if this guy was on a game show, he may have had stage fright, and polygraphs use heart rate and pulse tonhelp determine a lie from the truth, so if this guy had stage fright and his heart was racing like crazy, its VERY likely that is the reasoning behind the polygraph being false, the fact that the official polygraph showed he was telling the truth further supports this
Actually it is scientifically proven polygraphs are the most unreliable forms of evidence because so many people can cheat their way through them.
Natalie Eads while that is true, its not the only reason polygraphs are unreliable
The fact that he passed one and failed another demonstrates how unreliable it is.

travis has done like 5 polygraphs. he passed all of them except for the one on TV, which is suspicious to say the least. also, he did try and talk to the entities that looked like people, they just ignored him
a guy who put people through a woodchipper passed 3 polygraphs.
Polygraphs are the investigative equivalent of flipping a coin in terms of validity

Why do we always assume aliens look like humans but gray. They should look completely different because the adapted to a very different enviorment
Aliens can be pink if they want
If there is the possibility of intelligent life, I would assume that they would have to have evolved to look at least slightly humanoid. Earth is extremely unique in its ability to support life. If another planet is capable of doing the same, I would assume it would have to have mostly the same environmental aspects.
However, the possibilities that the species would be more advanced than humans or have undergone a different evolutionary path still stand.
To be fair, you have no idea what aliens "should" look like.
