Totally understand. We signed our contract in March 2021 and as of February we still didn't have cabinets and no one knew when would get them. Our rate was locked and expired on the 23rd. We ended up walking away with a full refund of earnest and upgrade money. We were truly disappointed but we were blessed to find a larger preexisting home on an acre.
@@mexfut1327 Our builder actually gave us a choice. Either we continue to wait (they could give us a time when we will get our cabinets at all and didn't offer a substitute option) or we can cancel our contract. They refunded all but $100.
Sorry that you're having to deal with this nonsense. In regard to increasing the price, unless there is an escalation cause in your contract, they, of course, can't do that. With housing prices shooting up, it could simply be an harassment tactic in hopes you'll back out so they can sell the home at a higher price.
Oh my gosh this is horrible! Please keep us posted on this situation. In our contract we made sure to have it stipulated that any costs would be absorbed by the builder and can’t be passed on to us. Re read your contract and also go to the city (courthouse) and look up the plans and inspections for your parcel (house) to see what’s really going on with your construction process. It’s all documented with the city. I wish you luck and happiness in any decision that y’all make.
I'm so sorry to hear this. That is ridiculous. It does seem that they are actually wanting you to cancel because of the builder offering to give back your deposit. I hope you guys find a solution it is just wrong of them.
Wow this is insane. I’m sorry y’all are going through this. They need to be sued, this is terrible. Something happened causing them to not want to sell to y’all, and it sounds like either discrimination or a price increase. I would leave negative reviews all over the internet about them. This is unacceptable.
Could it be that they are working on their spec homes first? Also, that bathtub crack will be an easy fix and they will be putting covebase over it after the floor goes in (if you don't already know about that). I sure hope they can get working on your house!
I'm so sorry you are going through this. My house process is similar to yours. I signed the 6th of October ( mines is a spec home) and framing went up in November by the end of December only thing done was plumbing. Mines was one of the first to get foundation and after that, about 5 to 6 other houses foundation was poured. Fast forward to middle of March, 2 houses have been completed and moved in ( mind you they were a week or two after mines) the others have electric work done and I only have plumbing 🤷🏾♀️. So my prayers will continue to be with you and your family throughout your process.
I'm so sorry y'all are going through this, do y'all have a realtor? If so hopefully your realtor can get some answers for y'all and go to battle for you... I wish y'all luck... please keep us posted...
I hope you all decide to look into legal action. There needs to be a lawsuit filed. Interest rates have increased. You all have suffered a loss even if they give you your money back. Is there some discrimination? What's going on behind the scenes?
@@NNKsFAMILY So y’all haven’t found out why they where delaying your house? I would have got my money back and went somewhere else. You can find brand new homes that are already build but not lived in. They wouldn’t be getting my money.
Hey great video...I am so sorry that happened to you i had a similar situation when i was building my home last year. I was wondering what the home specs are if you don't mind sharing that info, what is the square footage of the home and lot size?
Same builder. We signed Jan 2021 with a projected closing date of 7/2021. We were framed at very end of 8/2021. We passed all rough in inspections 11/2021 and passed framing inspection 12/2021. We did not insulation til 1/2022 and just got dry wall in 2/2022. They work maybe 1 week a month. Its ridiculous.
@@NNKsFAMILY yes- 14 months in- still no house! I have painted walls (with tons of holes and damaged moldings) kitchen cabinets- but missing master bathroom cabinets and my siding is done! My house has siding but no brick work has been completed. Still need floors, plumbing, lights, tile work, countertops, brick work…basically everything!
I feel your pain and know exactly what you are going through. I am experiencing the same thing. My process also started in April, but they didn't actually start until August. April 2021 was a rainy month through May, but June, July and August they did nothing and then a little in September. It was and still a nightmare for me because my builder hardly ever respond to my texts or emails. I get him on the phone, but still all I get is more lies and nothing happens. We are now in March and all they have done for almost two months is put crown moulding and trim. My house is under 1800 square feet, very small, but yet they are not doing anything. My expected closing date is April 8th, but that won't be happening. I have also explained to him my concerns paying interest payments, rent, and complained about the alarming interest rates that are steadily going up. I don't even have cabinets made for my house nor has my house even been painted. I am still waiting on some interior doors and we are in March almost in April. So my dear, I feel your pain and frustration because I am going through the same thing. I am just praying and trusting God will see this through and make sure that they do an impeccable job to his pleasing and will bless me with good interest rates. I am keeping the faith and you do too. They see that you are monitoring things and recording so they know they must get it right. The other houses are moving faster, but faster is not always better or a good thing.
I’m sorry that you guys had to deal with this foolishness. Praying blessings over your family 🙏🏽 🙏🏽!! Stay strong!!
