    You should have said, "Best European Continent Moments" over the country of the United States.

      BurnedSpace Yep. A country that has more registered golfers, golf courses, has golfing scholarships in colleges, and has more money and resources behind it.
      Keep *that* in mind...

  • @davidhobby2303

    A little biased don't you think? These kind of reels create the hardcore American fan base seen at Hazeltine in 2016

    You should add Sergio Gracia vs. Phill Mickelson (single's of 2016) What a game!

    I like how Justin Rose sank the putt to beat Phil Mickelson and started to celebrate
    the victory, but immediately stopped because he didn't want to offend Phil who
    had suffered a very hard loss. Pure class and sportsmanship by Jusin Rose. 7:20

  • @wpollock1
    @wpollock1 10 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Well, the Euros love to highlight running onto the green at Brookline, but when they won this year, there was a lot of celebration on the green and Euro players lining the green when Zack Johnson was still on the course. That, and the crowd jeering of Patrick Reed on the first tee when he wouldn't dance for them? The Europeans have a very selective idea of good sportsmanship.......Not saying that Brookline was fine, but the Euros love to use that as the "Ugly American" example when they themselves are guilty of premature celebration, also.

    • @batboy-wb2cn
      @batboy-wb2cn 10 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      ...In 1999 the Cup wasnt decided yet and the US players clearly put our guy off. Zach played for a nice but meaningless win and they just stood behind the Green. A pro isnt bothered by that.
      And some banter from the crowd isnt a big deal either. Sorry, but there was nothing wrong.
      1999 on the other hand was just a disgrace, you have to put it that hard. Sorry.

    • @wpollock1
      @wpollock1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      If an American stood at the green and popped a champagne cork while the match was in play, there would be hell to pay. The Euros... blameless again! Just saying.....

    Way to propagate the whiners myth of the green being trampled at Brookline. It is a myth. Watch the full footage. NO ONE went anywhere close to Olazabal's putt during the celebration. The entire thing was off to the side of the green, completely away from his line.
    Poor sportsmanship to celebrate when technically the match wasn't over, but that is still probably the most exciting moment in Ryder Cup history and if that doesn't cause you to lose your mind then nothing in golf ever will.

    What nonsense. Great matches to be sure but all European. The Leonard putt sealed Europe’s most humiliating defeat. The ensuing celebration did not trample the green or impact Ole’s putt. Mark James got his ass handed to him and couldn’t take it gracefully.

    What's going on over there guys - we haven't seen much play from our cross ponders of late, nothing notable as far as leaderboards go - will you guys be ready for the Ryder Cup this year or still distracted by brilliance?
    www.express.co.uk/news/politics/685958/Nigel-Farage-resigns-Ukip Nigel's done, reminds me of the guy that yells hold the elevator door when its completely full from 30 yards back, crams on in any way, then asks " the lift is going down, down to parking levels right?" No really, sorry mates, then presses open door one more time hopping back into the lobby leaving just that pushy, cozy FART behind!
    Thanks Nige, you've done your bit and some alright !
    See you at Hazeltine in Chaska, Minnesota

    My pick for #1 match would be the Sunday match between Christy O'Connor and Fred Couples at the Belfry in 1989. I am surprised it is not shown here.

    The whole idea behind Samuel Ryder instigating such an event was to promote harmony and sportsmanship between the USA and Great Britain and Ireland as it was then. Unfortunately the whole "us versus them" thing has grown out of hand as of late and the original message seems to have been forgotten, certainly from what I see from some of the comments. Golf is a game of honour, honesty, integrity and humility, Nicklaus and Jacklin being a great example of the way it should be.

    • @brandonmorris9889
      @brandonmorris9889 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Believe me, the Ryder Cup isn't the only contest in sports that has had an "Us vs. Them" mentality. The Olympics from 1956-1988 being a huge example. Not to mention Pierre De Cobertin's message of goodwill and understanding among countries. Unfortunately, that message wasn't sent went the USSR made their debut in 1952.

    • @TheLocalLt
      @TheLocalLt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is like that because the Cup virtually started in 1979 when modern sports rivalries and such were already existent. The competition Ryder started in 1927 and ran through 1977 had almost nothing in common with the 1979-present Ryder cup, mainly because it simply wasn’t competitive. Nicklaus picked up Jacklin’s coin because he knew nobody at home was watching or cared, Ryder Cups in Europe weren’t even broadcast in America until 1985 at the Belfry

      Hope you're right. Walter Hagan is the only US captain to lose two Ryder Cups, but he did win 4 as captain.
      As usual, the USA will have the stronger team on paper. And I don't mind if they beat us next year. As for American fans, I think they're great, except for the numpties who shout, "Get in the hole!"

    How anyone can be excited by professional golf is beyond me. Millionaires playing millionaires for another million dollars, Euros, whatever. Four garbage men playing for 10 bucks would be much more entertaining but you boobs keep throwing more of your money at this "sport" that is about as real as professional wrestling. I see you guys out on the course wearing their clothes and with two grand worth of clubs with hats that say "Callaway" and bags that say "Titleist" and you can't break 100 on your best day. Total dupes.

      JR , you idiot. We’re not going to act like every other FUCKING SPORT isn’t millionaires vs millionaires. With brand deals like Nike vs Adidas vs UA and shit like that. May be the stupidest comment i’ve ever seen.... You probably suck at the sports you play too, but you play them for fun. Guess since some people don’t shoot under 100 they can’t play huh.
