Sort of, but not really. It's quite different than Green Ischia and the original fig called Adriatic. Yeah. You can grow them here. Like JH Adriatic, but they're late and can split.
That drives me nuts. I have friends and family members that won’t share certain recipes and or whatever-I love to cook, I’d share my best recipes with anyone who loves to cook, the same with figs or whatever, we’re meant to teach and share imho.
hey ross, i really appreciate your videos. Lots of great information. Can I make a request? Towards the end of this video, you talk about trying to find the best version of a certain type of fig. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the best ways to buy fig trees to make sure (a) you're buying from a reputable seller (especially in the mid-atlantic area), (b) that you're actually getting the type of fig you ordered (is there even a way to check this? In another one of your recent videos, you showed the different leaf shapes of the black madeira. Are they all really BM? How do you know? etc.), and (c) that you're paying a fair price. Also, a bit of unsolicited advice - As a home gardener, I'm interested in watching many of your videos but I often don't have time to sink 10, 15, 20+ minutes to watch each one. It might be worth getting an editor to shrink down some of your vids into more digestible 3-5 min segments. Dunno about youtube's algorithm, but it might bring more viewers as well. Good luck! And thanks! Keep making that good content.
It would certainly bring in more viewers. I have a video on where to buy them. This is a video I did on where to buy them: th-cam.com/video/eeS2s3SZDMI/w-d-xo.html I will be selling A LOT more varieties on Figbid this December.
Ross, I hope you make some of these varieties available to us. It is maddening to hear you praise a fig that is not available!
How would we get a cutting of the Blanche de duex Saison fig tree? Where should we look?
Is there a variety called Golden Ischia? I was given a cutting but couldn’t find any info. I found Green Ischia and Ischia Black. Thanks
There isn't.
