FYI 1. the Roma pass actually works out more expensive.
2. Termini also has platforms from i Laziali.
3.if you purchase tix directly from uffici Vaticani in advance you can save. And you get to open the doors to the Sistina. Also, not to be missed are the Vatican gardens.
4. Rookie mistake with Trenitalia. Here in Oz there are endless ways of getting budget travel. Next time you'll know better.
