Hello from Canada again. Thanks for your time doing these videos. We all really appreciate it! I always look forward to your videos! I know you have a busy life as most of us, yet you take time to film and edit these videos for us in your spare time and you should know how much we enjoy them and appreciate your efforts. I'm always recommending you when I encourage someone to start modelling.
It's a very nice model kit, qdc. Congrats on building it and thank you for sharing this and inspiring us with your kind words at the end. Respect, mate!
Absolutely awesome as usual. Something about your videos are so soothing to watch, and this build is no exception. The tank looks excellent as well. Can't wait to see what you have in store next!
Another great job!! You made it look easy. Many Dragon Models are very well done and easy to assemble. The Magic Track sets are always great and fun to work with. It does take a bit of patients when working with them. I am a huge fan of German Armour. Most of my Armour collection is German tanks, followed by American then a mix of British, French and Russian Armour. Thanks again for making great video.
Hi qdc, I've been watching your channel and videos for a few months now, and I've learned several new techniques for building my armour models, so thanks! I particularly like your weathering tips, and will be trying them soon, once my new airbrush arrives! Looking forward to it as I've never used one, but your videos will certainly be a help. Thanks!
+qdc748a yes, i think that you've done an outstanding job on this variant of the panzer III ! i also like it because it's not something you see every day. Atypical is nice ! :)
Great video!!! THANKS for actually showing the construction of the track shoes - now I have an idea of what to expect on them and how they go together. Most other web-sites usually skip over that part for whatever reason.
Hi Colin, it's Panzer III BeobachtungWagen ( Bee-Oh- Bach-tung Va-gen) Ausfahrung (Ous-Fa-Rung) H. which means Panzer III Command or supervisor tank variant H. I hope this helps in the future. Great to see these "Start to Finish" videos again
Excellent job on your build. Was curious why this kit looks almost identical to my Revell 1/35 Pz.III. Turns out my Revell kit was made by Dragon as well. One slight comment: This is a Panzerbeobachtungswagen. Armored observation vehicle. These vehicles accompanied tank and StuG units into combat and called in artillery strikes and aiming corrections to "walk" artillery fire on to the target.
I think it's great that you eally love building kits, I just started again and some kits are really over done with PE and thousands of parts. My latest Trumper kit was the worst fitting kit, the Soviet 2K11A Krug, the holes for the small fiddly pieces were was to small to attach to the hull. most of them weren't even round.
Wicked! i know you,re all smoked out on dioramas, but when your interest picks back up, it would be awesome if you made a german flak88 aagun diorama with sandbags ammo cans anti-air squad and maybe even a half track. thanks for making so much awesome content for us viewers and enthusiasts alike to enjoy.
You are such a great model maker I truly admire every one of your videos. I just hope and pray that my model making videos can one day life up to your standards!
+qdc748a hey I know I sound rude but would you mind giving my modelling channel a shout out. The reason that I am asking is because I try so hard for every video but I can't seem to reach my target audience. I would really like to expand my audience. Just asking. Thanks
Hi qdc, I'm not an expert myself but one way to add to your realism is to use panzer aces old wold color for german tools, it's a lighter tan brown but german wood was actually that color. The wire cutters are a compressed paper and you can use like any red brown on those and be fine. Then you can use tamiya panel liner brown on the old wood handles and it gives off a nice wood effect. This is not a critique, your videos are great and your kits are even better, I just thought u might want to hear about the technique. Cheers, Josh.
I saw this kit online and would like to recommend this to you! It's the Autoblinda AB 40 Ferroviaria in 1/35th scale. Another kit I found interesting is the Skoda PA-11 "Turtle" Both of these kits, I think, would be an excellent addition to your collection. Plus, I'd love to see you build them! :)
+qdc748a Great job Collin! Just a little tip, a lighter yellow would be more accurate on german vehicles. I guess it's fine considering that you put a nice coat of dust over the vehicle to make the paint seem faded. :) Do you take suggestions for what model kits to build next?
Hello, Maestro. Oh, my... What do we have here? A few weeks ago, you gave us Tamiya King Tiger Ardennes Front and now, Dragon Panzer III Reconnaissance Tank. Well done, Sir! Two videos from you just like that? Whatta a treat. X'mas in February. You put a lot of effort into it: prep work, assembly, painting, detailing, weathering, etc... A styrene, Master Piece, equivalent of J. Strauss The Blue Danube. Let it play, Maestro. Let your work be heard. You are right about the main gun. It's fake. The only armament is the 7.92mm MG34 machine gun with about 1500 rounds per tank. Thanks, again. So, let me finish by saying: "WE BUILT THE MODEL KIT. WE PAINTED IT. WE WEATHERED IT." The "WE" makes you special. It shows generosity from within you, unfortunately, a lonely word nowadays. Not too many people even knows what it means. My best to you and yours. Take care, Bro. Lou
Nice build up Q! This model is calling for a diorama though. Your painting and weathering is again excellent as usual but try this, dry brush some steel on the grousers and track guides even after mud has been applied. When you get the chance take a look at some archival footage and you'll see what I mean. Just a dab'll do and you will be amazed at how realistic they'll look!
"From February of 1942 to April of 1944, 262 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf E/F/Gs were up-armored and converted into Artillerie Panzerbeobachtungswagen III (Sd.Kfz.143) - observation vehicles which served with Wespe and Hummel batteries until the end of the war. Sd.Kfz.143 had a crew of five and was equipped with powerful radio equipment."

Hey QDC I'm sure you're busy with many other projects, but I think it would be cool to see you build a B-17. It's my all time favorite airplane and I think you would do a good job on it.

When I took a psychology class at my University, I understood that some people can put themselves into the video and pretend they too are doing the same actions in order to learn something. I'm glad you like this video. Take care my friend and have a great day!
Hi qdc awesome work. I was wondering if you could make a video and explain in detail how you paint your models (what paints, airbrush, how you mix the paint, etc). I have recently got into models mainly from inspiration from your videos and painting is something I can't get right. It would be very appreciated if you made that video.
Hey qd you got cheers from France and I have a suggestion for you : Can you show us the collection of your completed model kits it be nice to see evrything you showed to us in one video and keep making model kits I like it.

It's a command tank. I believe this model was used mostly in Hummel companies. That BIG word I can't spell and you couldn't pronounce ,means command tank. The Big word for recon vehicles is Auftunlgen (?sp.). Same as for the 222 and 232 8rad. Great job on your build. I had the Dragon kit but built it as a regular combat vehicle using the parts in the kit ! Are you going to use the figures to make a diorama with it ?
+Ennis Anderson Thanks! I wish my understanding of the German language was better. No, I don't plan to paint the figures. I want to take a break from figures and dioramas for a while.

i love this kind of german camouflage: easy to paint with excellent results
+Riccardo Cozzini German camo isn't that hard. I like it too.
Actually its full name is "Panzer Beobachtungswagen III"!
And as always: Nice work, QDC!
+AtomPilz Fresser Thanks. I wish my understanding of the German language was better. Thanks again.
qdc748a Hehe. It's kinda funny I think. I always like it, when English-Speaking people try to say german words, sentences or words! :D
amazing
+Ace Scale Modeling Thank you
I saw this kit online and would like to recommend this to you!
It's the Autoblinda AB 40 Ferroviaria in 1/35th scale.
Another kit I found interesting is the Skoda PA-11 "Turtle"
Both of these kits, I think, would be an excellent addition to your collection. Plus, I'd love to see you build them! :)
+Joe Makes Model Kits Thanks. I'll look into it :)
That is one sexy looking Panzer lll, nice jobe ;)
+Val Kršmanc Thank you

KUTGW!
+Styrene Panzer Thank you :)

I can certainly understand that ! After that D-day diaroma you just built ,I wouldn't want to do anymore either.
+Ennis Anderson :)

+Марк Хищник You are welcome :)
Very nice tank!!! Always watch your vidoes with big pleasure. Looking forward to new works.
P.S. Sorry for my English
+Дмитрий Гинзбург Your English is fine. Thank you.
Great job
Thank you for watching this video.
"From February of 1942 to April of 1944, 262 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf

+jow watanabe Thanks for the valuable information! This kit does not include any history about this tank. Thank you!
Hey qdc, nice work as always. How long do you let the glued tracks set until you wrap them around the wheels?
Greetings from Germany!
I would love to see more planes would that be something we could expect in the near future by the way the model looks great.
+Aaron's Hobbies I have one plane in mind this year.
Awesome job
What dark yellow paint you use ?
I mix my own paint. Sorry.
What’s your mixture if you don’t mind me asking I can’t seem to find a proper dark yellow
The full name is sonderkraftfahrzeug (special-vehicle) panzer beobachtungs wagen (armored recon vehicle)
Nice build btw!
+mrbordmechaniker Thanks. My understanding of the German language isn't as good as I wanted it to be.
Can you show us the brand of the "buff" color you used for the dust effect?
+makooma I'd love to know this as well. It really tones the model down nicely.
+makooma Should be Tamiya, XF57.
+makooma The brand I use is Windsor and Newton artist oil paint. I diluted it in mineral spirits before I spray. I have been adding a little of white in it lately.
thank you
Nice work, I built the Tamiya version .
Hey QDC I'm sure you're busy with many other projects, but I think it would be cool to see you build a B-17. It's my all time favorite airplane and I think you would do a good job on it.
I think he also should also build a B-25.
I've been subbed and watching for like 2.5+ years now and I just realize what I love the most about these videos, they trigger my ASMR (google this) and I love it xD
+Dakota Tucker (CarbonFrozen423) I just looked it up...Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Cute. When I took a psychology class at my University, I understood that some people can put themselves into the video and pretend they too are doing the same actions in order to learn something. I'm glad you like this video. Take care my friend and have a great day!

Hey qd you got cheers from France and I have a suggestion for you : Can you show us the collection of your completed model kits it be nice to see evrything you showed to us in one video and keep making model kits I like it.
+Marshall hd I might do that.
How do you do the dust effect?
PS. You're the best!
Greetings from Sweden!
Maybe add a couple of historical notes that if you found and find them nice to note
+Morgan Freckle I don't have much history about this tank. Dragon did not supply one.
im building the same kit
mine however, did not come with magic tracks or crew
its individual link tracks i had to cut off sprues
mine did however come with the 2 grills in back in etched metal
Cool 😁
Very nice build. Any chance you can mention what type of paints you use? My guess is Tamiya? Keep up the good work!
magic tracks can be a pain in the ass but they look so much better than the rubber ones
The black primer makes the Dunkelgelb turn into OD....
Aber ausgezeichnet, Panzerfahrer!!!!
Vielen Dank!!!
Another great job,my friend ! I've never seen your method of making mud spatter before. I'm going to have to give it a try.
One thing though, you are wrong about what this tank was. It's a command tank. I believe this model was used mostly in Hummel companies. +Ennis Anderson Thanks! I wish my understanding of the German language was better. No, I don't plan to paint the figures. I want to take a break from figures and dioramas for a while.
Cool😺
+Максим Титов Thank you
