I don't know why but this music just makes it feel like you're being... _hunted._ Something in the town is stalking you, waiting for you to let your guard down then strike.
In the beta versions, the pyramid head would be on the streets at night hunting you, as well as in the apartments too, but unfortunately this idea was removed later in the final version of the game. this song would be even scarier knowing that there would actually be someone chasing you in the streets.
The ambience from SH2 will forever be stained in my head filled with horrifying memories playing on the PS2 at 6 years old back in 2002. I had the greatest hits copy at the time and as of 2022 I finally got the same version from online which wasn't cheap, but surpassing the purchase I felt like that little boy again booting up my PS2 and navigating through the town without remembering how the story went with tears of joy. I love SH2 and it will forever be my favourite game. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
That music sure sounds really creepy and disturbing in Silent Hill 2. I have that game for Sony PS4 as Silent Hill HD Collection for the PS3 after joining PlayStation Now for the first time since last week.
@@solvapydoom8077Yeah it's kinda bit disappointing. It's a shame that it doesn't include the first one, the fourth one and other pre-2012 games. I don't know why Konami didn't add those pre-2012 Silent Hill games to the HD collection rather than the second one and the third one. Anyway we hope Konami should make another Silent Hill game compilation sometime in the future.
It could be. Pyramid head was originaly supposed to roam on streets after you leave hospital. Idk if this is true but it might explain that squealing of the background
@@SuperSoylalecheEerie and Haunting Atmospheric Soundtrack Ambience... 🎶☯️🎶 The reason why Silent Hill 2 it became a classic is because eventually people began to see how unique, eerie, melancholic and authentic the game's atmosphere it really is, and took the time to enjoy its deeply thoughtful narrative and symbolism. To this day it’s by far one of, if not the most mature examination of grief, sexual trauma, suicide, and morality all combined. It’s an intelligent game that does not hold anyone’s hand and comes at the player with utmost confidence in itself. It’s fantastic stuff. The rest of the original 4 are great in their own right and have their own well written stories, but they don’t hold the same emotional weight to them. I think SH2’s maturity by comparison is something that a lot of people are drawn to. ☯️

The soundtracks to the games are genius for sure
It's Pyramid Head dragging his giant knife, waiting to jump you when you least expect it
@@jimhuffman9434 Shit man I'd believe that wholeheartedly...

@@Lucas_0404 Aw lame, why'd they cut that out?
how does this manage to be both unsettling and relaxing at the same time
Yamaoka is just that good
It is really fitting for Silent Hill 2 as a whole. It is more melancholic than outright trying to be scary.
Should look into dark ambient music! My favorite artist in the genre is Lustmord
@@danielbennett6645 thanks, i'll check it out!
As a kid, hearing this music and just standing in the middle of town made my room feel cold.
so relaxing
Bro’s a psycho
Yes it sounds like a tune for a quaint jaunt in the park
Yes very relaxed rn

The voice of Silent Hill...
LOVE this! This is exactly the track I've been looking for to listen, thank you for posting!
pov I’m downstairs from you deciding where to place furniture in the kitchen
James' face is my live reaction to that
Very relaxing music. I usually put a savestate from my PCSX2 on in the background when browsing with this background ambience.
Im working at a foggy Christmas carnival right now, hardly anyone here. This music is very fitting aa I walk around alone
Just perfect
If you don’t listen to this while walking outside….then you should
Someone make a 10 hour edit where at like the 8 hour mark it randomly plays the radio people would flip!! 🤣🤣
This is my sleeping white noise

I used to say that when this song was played it was because Pyramid Head was heard in the distance dragging his knife
