Down the mountain and on the road heading to Azougui in the Adrar Region of Mauritania.

We have just passed the mountain road at Leweinat and are now on the valley, heading towards Azougui in the Adrar Region of Mauritania. The views of the valley on this side of the mountain are so different with many trees and even orchards along the road. Gerak Darma's team is excited to see small villages and domestic animals amongst the trees. The view of the flat-top mountains makes it more scenic. Our convoy stopped at the side of the road for a small break before taking a detour off the paved road to a shortcut. The shortcut will go through a dirt road that will take us to Azougui faster. There must be an oasis here judging from the trees and orchards.
