I really enjoyed Epic Mickey. I really loved the idea of all these lighthearted characters merged in a dark/tragic atmosphere.
And who can forget that touching ending.
This was really cool, its great to see a guy that sees the human value of his work rather than material things

Seems according to some research online, that Ortensia did make an appearance in a 1927 cartoon with a different name possibly. But she is actually part of the history it seems...

One of Webster's Dictionary's definitions of cipher is "one that has no weight, worth, or influence". This could be seen as a reflection of the overall sexism in animation.
This is a great segment. I want more content like this from more developers. We should be looking at the human impact of video games much more in the games media.
When you hear him speak of his work, can you call him and his team anything other than artists?

He deserves to be proud. He made a game that delighted many. It made me even more passionate about Classic Disney than I was before, and for that, I have to thank Mr. Spector and his team.
I feel so bad for Warren. I wish Epic Mickey 2 had taken off. There was so much potential with that series. Also such great fan mail. I loved the first epic mickey. And even the one on 3DS had so much potential. Maybe someday it'll come back.
This game still has a big place in my heart even if i dont have the game anymore i still have the special nunchuck that came with game

+Tobey Peters Most people bitched it out due to the camera. Others were upset that most of the leaked concept art regarding the game was ignored. I'll say this, it's certainly not anywhere near as bad as its sequel.

Epic mickey was indeed magical, and it captured that nostalgia of early Disney that seems lost now a day
I don't care what anyone says, I love Epic Mickey, and I even really enjoyed Epic Mickey 2 and the 3DS game. I want a third one so bad-and I want more Oswald!!
I always remember watching the E3 2010 Epic Mickey reveal as an early teen and thinking the game and this guy were really cool. Don't know why I never got it.

The 2 Epic Mickey games were and are AMAZING and you can see all the love that went into them both PLUS they were a breathe of fresh air during a time where FPS games were the norm. Thank you Mr. Spector for having the courage and vision to lead the team that created the incredible worlds realized in these 2 Epic Mickey games and thank you for putting such strong support behind the Wii especially with the first Epic Mickey game during a time many developers said the Wii was underpowered and could not produce amazing graphics. You proved them wrong with these games and proved them to just be lazy! These games are 2 more reasons I will not be selling my Nintendo Wii anytime soon. BTW they look amazing via component cables. Would love to see an Epic Mickey 3!

Ortensia's original name during the production of the Oswald shorts was Sadie (as referenced in the title of the animated short: Sagebrush Sadie). However, the names for Oswald's love interests were never widely publicized, which is likely the reason she was given a new name in Epic Mickey, following the illiteration pattern of Mickey and Minnie's mirrored relationship."

And the dialogue. It would be much more powerful to hear these words instead of just seeing them, especially since most of these characters haven't talked in a while. Actually, Oswald and the Gremlins never talked at all!
I'm so happy to be working on a fan game of Epic Mickey! Warren created great games, but Epic Mickey is a gem!

I love both of the Epic Mickeys.
I remember playing the first one and thought how cool it was. I just loved all of it. The squeal, to me, was great too. I was able to play with someone else (one of my sisters for example) and just bond over that game. This doesn't mean I don't remember the flaws of both games. The camera took me a little bit to get used to, especially the parts you can't really move it at all. (Honestly I had a harder time jumping on some platforms more than anything). I also know that the plot for EM2 wasn't as strong as the first one was. But that's was you have to do. Overlook the flaws to see the true beauty and those games were a masterpiece to me.
I honestly do hope that there'll be an Epic Mickey 3 (mostly because of the ending scene in 2) also I want to see how the graphics of today might change it and maybe fix some of the maneuvering flaws it had.
In short, I still love Epic Mickey to this day and I hope that the ones who have played it kept it close in their hearts.
This makes my day.

Somebody remaster this game. I don't know how they do it, just do it so it will be good. This game is too wonderful to die.
I remember being a teenager in a middle class family that couldn't afford the luxury of current consoles. I remember watching a in depth trailer for this on G4 (which was a gaming channel on tv, idk if it's still around) and how you could decide which path you went on by painting or erasing blew my mind in the best of ways.
mr. spector seems like such a nice man. and for sure, who cares about the camera or whatever, if the game meant something to you it will always be with you no matter the flaws you will have a special connection with it
bought a Wii specifically for epic mickey because I loved the nostalgia feel of the old cartoons with the levels

Nice!!! I just bought epic Mickey for my nieces yesterday on Xbox 360 and they LOVED IT!!!! It's not the type of game that I would play but I did and do see how people could enjoy it plus kids love cartoon adventures...cheers

I'm actually playing through Epic Mickey again now. No other game has as much heart or a better story than Epic Mickey, and I'd be surprised if anything ever does match it. Plus, as a huge fan of the Disney parks, playing the game in a way allows me to visit some of my favorite places in the Magic Kingdom.
Hell yeah this is real, epic Mickey was a unique lovely experience, and the story he tells is truly amazing

Every game has its problems, they created a wonderful thing with epic mickey. It was one of the many reasons i got a wii.
That game is a masterpiece of game design and a love letter to Disney fans.

The camera has some problems, but the game is still awesome. I absolutely love and always will. One of my favorite Mickey game. I also love the 3DS one.

I honestly never beat the first epic mickey (I got stuck in the haunted mansion organ thing in 4th grade)and I only played the beginning of the 2nd game but I loved what I played and I have to replay everything at some point to actually finish it(now Ive played more games and have lots more experience so I can probably beat it now)

Epic Mickey is one of the most memorable games I've ever played. It's possibly the best game Disney has made without help from Capcom or Square Enix.

I'm sorry, did you just try to say Ortensia was something you made up? Because you're lying. Her name was originally Sadie, but she was in the Oswald cartoons and continued to appear as "Kitty" after Walt lost the rights to them. You just gave her a better name and a personality. I think you need to rewatch the cartoons.
PyroGothNerd still, the fact that they use Ortensia, rather than an earlier incarnation, makes the difference.
One copyright synopsis for The Banker's Daughter actually labels her as "Fanny". That was also the name for the female rabbit (who had the surname Cottontail) that appeared in "Oh Teacher!", "The Mechanical Cow," "Great Guns," and "All Wet".
More important, however, is that Disney did _not_ lose the rights to Oswald. The copyright was owned by Universal from the start. In a 1953 article for The Portsmouth Times, Disney himself said that he didn't own the copyright to Oswald.

I thought Epic Mickey was a great game and honestly the only flaw I had with it was the camera. It would have been great if they borrowed the mechanics from Tomb Raider on Wii for the camera controls. Other then that I loved the game!

Always wanted to play this but... the Wii was never a compelling console.
Really? Twilight Princess, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Monster Hunter Tri, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and of course Epic Mickey are some great games on Wii. Not to mention the backwards compatibility with Gamecube.
The above games mentioned, plus Red Steel 2, Madworld, Okami, the De Blob duology, Prince of Persia, Monster Hunter Tri, Zack and Wiki, Battalion Wars 2, A Boy and his Blob, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Strikers Charged, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Spectrobes, Mushroom Men, Mini Ninjas, Sonic Colors and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom are not compelling games? You're missing out on classics.
