Love the video! I know gloves and feel are super subjective. I was always a 200 pattern guy and then tried my first a2k 1787 and the fit, feel and shape were so comfortable and snug, but I missed the sturdiness of Rawlings leather. Then recently tried the 31 and immediately fell in love. To me the 31 was as close to combining my 1787 with Rawlings leather as I’m gonna get. It fits a little tighter like the Wilson, has dual welting, a good size pocket but not super deep, and also has, imo, the superior HoH leather. Kinda the best of both worlds in a lot of ways. With that said, I wear all 3 two in the pinky and did not experience a lack of feel at all with the 31. But it is 11.5 compared to my other two at 11.75 so it’s hard to say how much that may or may not factor into it. If I were to buy a glove right now, it would a pro preferred 315 just to feel this glove in Kip at the size I normally game playing third. Definitely excited to hear your continued take on the 31 in part 2!

Curious to see the thousand catch video. Lots of teammates have had this glove (and take excellent care of it) but they seemed to get super loose and floppy super fast
It’s definitely interesting but he’s not the first to do it. Jeter used a closed web for his entire career, so did a lot of guys back in the day. Basket webs and closed webs were the norm. As far as modern era you’d be mostly right
The 31 pattern is a good option for you if you wanna use it for softball but don't want to use a 13" glove just get a 11.5 31 pattern and go two in the pinky
What would be the best infield glove for an 5 foot 3 11 year old majority 3rd base. Looking for under $250. I am unsure of what is the best and would love a more knowledgable opinion. I love what you do and am super excited every time I see one of your videos. Also could you put the glove Gulag on your website and add more gloves to that. I really liked that and felt like it was helpful in looking for gloves.

I personally use this glove for ss and I do two in the pinky as well as the ball always hit the pocket, and I am 13 so I agree that the glove is made for more of a kid/youth. Anyways I love your videos watch the immediately when the get uploaded, keep it up.

i have a rawlings pro preferred trap-eze model that i did the hot water treatment on because i wasnt happy with the shape, before it was a bit floppy and almost collapsed on itself when put on the side, now its a lot stiffer. Does anyone know why?
The leather is dry, depending on how much you soaked the glove/leather it may have lost the natural oils within the leather. you may want to use some glove cream or conditioner to put some oils back into the leather.
@@laugeherkild4755think of it like when you go in the pool and your skin wrinkles up. Just by adding the presence of so much water and then removing it, it will get dried out. I’m not sure why glove is stiff now but good rule of thumb is to condition it if it gets water in cause the leather will always be dried out
It’s really not actually true younger people don’t remember I grew up in the 80s. They only had clothes web basket gloves that was for everybody in the Enfield. And then the single post was for everybody in the outfield. You could probably find other gloves, but that’s not really what we saw. That’s why Derek Jeter used the basket gloves. Most other players use it as well except around in the 90s people started changing it up to the iWeb. He just didn’t. When I started getting back into 40 years old now. I went to go buy baseball glove and I was shocked to see that the web wasn’t something that I should really buy. I was just gonna buy like a Derek Jeter 11 1/2 inch glove.
