Do more of these mate, it's literally just inspired me to do something similar. Nice that it's all there to see, no particular mystery or hidden technique/gear - just what's there, working well. Keep doing them, thanks for posting.
Loads of fun! This takes me back to the early 90s when I first got interested in beat making. I had a similar casio keyboard and pedal setup with an old Kenwood turntable, a stereo pre, overdrive, delay, Distortion, and Octave pedal. I just ran straight to Tascam 4 track and built each track separately. The looper is the chef's kiss here.
I've got to play music for a friend who read poetry in front of an audience. I'am going in a very experimental way but watching some parts of your video gave me ideas to add some more melodic stuff sometime. I think it can work with the text and give moment to relax for the audience which is not only people into more experimental stuf. I'll try working on it, last thing I already use my Tera Echo and a Boss DD7 for this project. I think the first one might be a one trick pony, but a delay or a chorus is, when you want to add some unique texture it's one of the effect I think is truly original and new. Not speaking of overpowered granular + ocataver + delay... wich are more some kind of very cool but steal the show pedal and a little bit of OK no matter what I'm gonna play two minor chord and the pedal will make it sound fantastic. Why not the result is what matter but if we all sound fantastic the same way... it's not fantastic anymore IMO. Thanks for the ideas, keep it simple and have fun.
@@RaverOperator Cool, it's in french but if you could hear what my friend is writing I think it's very inspiring. Same as experimental music but with words, you can't tell what it was about but the images you saw if youc close your eyes and let yourself go can be beautiful.
I got all strymons on my board 😂 I don’t even know where to start to do something like this. Your keys and analogs pedals captured my eyes instantly as soon as I saw this on my feed 😂❤❤
You go boyeeee!!! It shows what someone can do with the most minimal gear, some effects, and a boatload of taste and creativity. EHX pedals rock, don’t they? Very cool and great job! (PS- Subbed!!)
Sounds a bit like "Visit Venus"... Very, very awesome live set 📐 the mixture of the old Casio and the FX's! Make's a lot of fun to listen to! The RC-1 is the burner...
been doing this with the pro vs mini and my sp404 mk2. obviously two completely different setups but the workflow is so remarkably similar it makes me question my purchasing power. bravo !
Bravo! Did the same thing with a reel to reel years ago. Didn't have loopers and the ones that they had available at the time where boku expensive. Still a ton of fun. Record what you make and master with pc.
Earlier today, I was running a Casio MT-65 through a Zoom G1-Four multi-effects pedal. It is a relatively cheap pedal with a quality looper and a list of good effects. I was surprised how nice an 80s Casio was sounding, and was quite happy with what I was able to put together despite having no experience with a looper. If anyone is looking for a similar setup to the video (while containing the cost of all the pedals), I recommend Zoom G1-Four multi-effects pedal. B1 and A1 models are virtually the same I think.
No matter how many ways you try to create something in music, everything goes to the same thing. You need to look for a group, or a team that will need you. Even if not for all the compositions, joint success will never replace you alone! Good luck!
I used to do the same thing with my Casio SK-1 Sampler! I hooked up several guitar effects pedals to it. You should try a Digitech Whammy pedal, it's totally awesome. I would drop the pitch of the keyboard as many as 3 octaves! It's been a long time since I did that, probably around the time the SK-1 came out !!! But I would do it again on another demo tape.
At the time, I was bored with guitar. So I started tinkering around the Casio, hooking up different pedals and I started coming up with some cool tunes. I had a Tascam 4 track PortaStudio and started laying tracks, which in turn, inspired me to pick up my guitar again !!! Bloody lovely! Did the Casio do the wonderful drums, too? I've got a PT-31, had it years, & I love it still. I watched the video a bit stoned, Now I'm gonna have to try it with a space echo..😂
