DJ, Trevino and verdugo in the same lineup is just pissing a game away. Even when one miraculously manages a hit, the next guy is grounding into a DP. They are rally killers.

DJ should NEVER be in the Lineup!!!!! Ever!!!! He struckout on 3 Pitches yesterday in the 7th, took 2 Fastballs in the strike zone, and swings at a pitch near the dirt and hits into a Double Play!!! Gleyber should have been moved to 3rd base and Chisolm moved to 2nd base. Cabrera was hitting! Let him play 3rd and give Play 1st base occasionally!!! Gil needs to close!!! I rather give him a shot then Holmes. If that doesn't work, Kahnle!!

DJL is absolutely terrible. Gleybar can’t play defense. He can hit but not play defense. Trevino is a 230 hitter with zero arm. Judge should be in right.
I’m fine w no Soto next year. Time to use the 600M and go get 3-4 solid players with high OBP and solid defense.

Any Yanks fan knows not pulling the trigger for Tanner Scott at the deadline was a typical Cashman fk-up. That guy was the perfect fit for what they needed. Cashman did nothing but trade for Jizz on the Marlins. I hate when people know a guy isn't THE GUY but still wait for him to blow 10 games to verify it. Now the fans are stuck in september with no closer going into the playoffs where as everyone knows pitching wins rings most of the time.

The Yankees rave about Holme's sinker. It will sink the Yankees ship. Holmes has very little control of where it's going. It's high, it's low, it's wide or it's in the dirt way short of the plate, creating a wild pitch. He walks hitters or falls behind in the count and has to groove another pitch to get a strike. Yankees need a closer who has consistent control.

How many games did Rivera close before he was named the closer in 1997?
    Like...
Do y'all listen to yourselves? Why are you even *asking* that question? It's a completely unnecessary question.
And this whole "Oh well they don't have any readily available closers" oh really? They don't have Luke Weaver, Tommy Kahnle, or Jake Cousins who have been rock solid all year long? They didn't have Michael Tonkin? They don't have Scott Effross (who by the way *WAS* the closer with the Cubs when the Yankees got him)...

Gil walks too many batters to be a closer. I posted before the season started that Cashman should not permit the Yankees to enter the season without a bonafide closer or productive bat on the bench, yet he errored on both accounts, killing the Yankees. Just about every question mark facing the Yankee's roster entering the season has been answered in a resounding negative for the 3rd straight season, and that is all on Cashman. DJ has shown little to nothing, Holmes should have never been given tiger closer spot, the Yankees have no one at first base, no legitimate 3rd baseman, have gotten virtually no production out of left field since July, and why the Yankees kept Torres instead of trading him at the deadline, when there is no chance he is coming back next season, is beyond idiotic.

This is pathetic with Clay Holmes another blown saves last night 7-4 loss. Even though the Yankees are now in second place then two days first place. The way the Yankees are playing they will be eliminated in first round. Enough is enough Boone and Cashman need to be fire 🔥. Change is must after 14 plus years of not winning championship. A new beginning for 2025 season with new management is in order. No more Status quo

Losiaga’s loss has been glaring most of the season. He would’ve been the guy.

Clay Holmes was never meant to be a closer, they never had one since Chapman

what pisses me off year after year the Yankees have the options like the kid Dominguez whose shown he can be a star before he got hurt and they won't call him up. idc if verdugo is playing better Dominguez is the better player period and Holmes ass should take a seat. he's not the closer what more evidence do you need to see.

Holmes is a very good bullpen piece. He is not closer material.

Unfortunately all of this is irrelevant when the owner doesn’t care about the championships like we the fans, his Dad, or even his Brother. When’s the last time anyone saw him at a game, where he wasn’t contractually obligated to be?
The passion for winning sadly died with George and Hank. Yankees will continue to turn a profit regardless of their team payroll and Hal is perfectly fine with this outcome. I guess we’re the suckers for playing along

is the problem "with Clay Holmes" or with Boone, who keeps relying on Clay Holmes … personally, I like Boone, I like the way he stands for his players but is it that Boone knows something (about Clay Holmes) that defies logic or Boone is clueless (which I seriously doubt) … it's got to be something that people don't know but someone with the Yankees does know.

This is a soap opera! Is DJ going to start to hit? Will the bullpen collect a game? Should we bring up the Martian? Is Luis Gil going to the ball pen? Will they change Holmes? Lots of questions
